How To Make Coffee with Strong Brew | Tutorial by Barista & Co
The Strong Brew coffee maker is an innovative new concept from Barista & Co. This coffee maker creates a short, black coffee in just 2 minutes. Not only is it speedy and compact, but the coffee you make with your Strong Brew is super concentrated - featuring 60% more caffeine than a 45ml espresso shot.
In this short video, we cover off the basics of the Strong Brew including what's inside the box and how to use it.
Hi I’m Danny, product designer at Barista & Co. Today, I’m just going to show you how to use your Strong Brew coffee maker.
In your Strong Brew box you’re going to get:
• 100 paper filters
• Strong Brew coffee maker
• And, your user manual
So I’m going to take you through how easy it is to make your Strong Brew coffee. Take your plunger off and take your helix chamber out.
Then, you’re going to put your paper filter into your handle and insert the helix chamber again. This simply twists back into place. Now, place your Strong Brew on top of your cup.
Now it’s time to add your coffee. We recommend using about 15g of ground coffee, which is about 1 heaped tablespoon. Once you’ve scooped in your coffee, give it a shake to level it out and then get your boiling water and pour straight into your chamber (over the top of your coffee). You’ll see that you start to get a little drip through, but that’s fine.
You want to fill it to just about 1cm below the top of the chamber. When you’re ready, give it a quick stir. This ensures all the coffee grounds get submerged for even extraction.
Then, what you want to do is use the alignment markings on the upper and lower handle and ease it on. Push the upper handle down slightly, just until it starts twisting. Then I give it a little pull back. What that does is creates a vacuum inside your chamber so you can leave that to brew now, we recommend 2 minutes for the best tasting coffee.
After your coffee has brewed for 2 minutes, what you’re going to do is gently pick up your Strong Brew and just twist to plunge.
You shouldn’t need to use too much force, it will do it on it’s own. And that’s it. You’re done.
So what you’ve created is about 200ml of really concentrated coffee, it’s up to you whether you want to top it up with milk or enjoy it black. If you prefer a longer, Americano coffee you can also top it up with hot water.

    Hey, just got my machine today. What I find strange is, that I can only get my portafilter into the 6oclock position with really strong force. That shouldn't be right?! Does it have to be in the 6oclock to brew espresso? Ty!

    Why even bother creating a brew guide if the instruction is to use a “heaped tablespoon”

    • @baristaco4811
      @baristaco4811 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Because 99% of the population like to keep it simple.

    • @tdolan500
      @tdolan500 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@baristaco4811 Aside from the fact that’s just not true, why not also have proper brew instructions? It’s such an extremely low bar. It’s fine though! I’ve had it for 3 days now, used it several times and discovered that it’s absolutely useless. It won’t be used for anything other than being a small expensive jug.

    • @baristaco4811
      @baristaco4811 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tdolan500 if you know anything about ratios then you will also know it is coffee, grind size etc. dependent. A ratio should really start at the coffee. Are you using it for cold brew? Are you using it for hot coffee? What roast profile is your coffee? The golden cup ration is 15g to 250g of water but that is purely a guide and many roasters would say their coffee should have a different ratio. We have an absolute focus on making good coffee more accessible to everyone and most people have never heard of a ratio, do not weigh their coffee but just want a good coffee. We have to start with basic education if we are to be more accessible to people. It is for that reason we make very simple guides.

    It's only talk, talk and talk. How about making an espresso? Complete worthless. I have been using the Profitec Go for some weeks. It's the most noisy espresso machine I have ever encountered. It's more like a rattle snake. Driptray already broke. The lid of the water tank is just a loose piece of cheap metal. There is no dedicated hot water switch. So makimg Americano's is tricky. The water tank is cramped within rhe body and as a consequence the thin body panels are already distorted there. Design is boxy and outdated. Cut corners all around. Before frothing the milk you have to purge the steam wand twice. It's more like a washing machine. The Profitec Go is already put on sale on TH-cam. For me it was a huge disappointment. There are far better choices. Like the Bezzera Hobby. Nice design with rounded corners Decent build quality. A powerful milk frothing system. There is even a dedicated hot water switch. The vibrationpump is more. quiet. And the lid of the wster resevoir has a hinge. Very comfortable.

    hello, I have a Profitec go which I bought it recently, the problem I have is that the pressure gage goes up after 2 -3 seconds and gets to 9 bar and starts extracting , I was wondering if it can be increased to 6 or 7 seconds? it seems there is no pre infusion at all. I get 36 gram of espresso on 18 grams in 25 seconds. thanks

I dont understand though (prob due to my almost zero experience..) in your first try why not try the coffee before throwing it, what if the taste was very close to what your are looking for, this would mean that your ratio should be not i.e. 1:2 but maybe 1:3 or higher, no?

    I am confused by this video. You are using 17g of coffee for 30ml of espresso. Does this mean for a double shot you would need to use 34g of coffee which means you would need to fill the portafilter twice.

    • @AsCitiesBurn32

      That is a double shot, if it was a single it would be less coffee in like 7-9g. With it being 17g in and 34g out it’s a double shot.
