Well, I got zero... and I haven't seen any of those movies... yeah I know. But it was fun. I got one, though it's not a band or an artist but a dj, in the movie Tokyo Eyes, there's a scene when the main characters get home and the guy says let's put on some music and then dj Fumiya Tanaka comes with his decks and plays right next to them. The movie is a bit experimental so not for everyone but it's very nice nonetheless I think it came out in the late 90s early 2000s And I agree, that would be very hardcore niche to know the answer... ;-)

IMO, It is not worth buying audiophile pressings of popular music that was recorded prior to 1975. The audio recording technology wasn't great and the high quality remasters, of these so-so recordings yield only minimal improvements in overall sound quality. How did you screw up the names of both the Brubeck and Beck albums? Worth noting: 'Ella and Louis', despite its magnificence in every other way, is a MONO album. In this way it becomes great speaker setup test record to make sure you're getting your L+R balance and sound pressure correct. Bizarrely you also recommended the REMIXED 2019 version of 'Abbey Road', and despite best efforts and a decent lacquer cut and resulting pressing, this 2019 MIX is inferior to the original. For less than 1/3 the cost of the MFSL, you can get a 2-lp version of 'What's Going On' cut by Kevin Gray!

Even as someone who is 20, What’s Going On by Marvin Gaye is possibly the best album ever. It also is a top 5 favorite album of mine as well.

No argument from me. I love that album. BTW Rolling Stone magazine ranked “What’s Going On” as the #1 album of all time! Thank you for watching

The Beck LP is great sounding. Unfortunately the Mofi pressing goes for ridiculously high sums now. Out of interest, what turntables don’t have the ability to play 45s?

    • @AllAboutAlbums

That statement has apparently bothered several viewers. My first turntable was rather cheap(age of 12). It would automatically bring the tonearm down only at the outer margin of the turntable. It could not play any 45rpm singles. Thank you for watching

Frank zappa recorded some great stuff, diana krall. Unlimited orchestra by the league. Black sabbath first album. B52s.. Robbie and sly anything, all great recordings, fleetwood mac, a good copy of early pink floyd.. Brubeck, Stan getz quartet records, chet baker, John coltrane albums, free wheeling bob dylan.. I have always thought that decent jazz sounds better through valve amps with transmission line speakers like imf tls 50.. Amazing what sound you can get for reasonable money.. Love valve amps because you can still buy nos valves for the pre and power stages of your amp to get the sound that matches your speakers. We are all chasing the point of closing our eyes and get the feeling we have the band in the room with us..

I hear you and agree with you about valve amps. I have used tubes for the past 15 years and the sound is glorious. There are many other great sounding albums that I could not mention in the time of a reasonable length video. Jazz albums do typically have better sound than a standard pop or rock album. Likely related to the folks buying those albums being more critical in their purchase. Thank you for your comments and thank you for watching

Watched your video almost 5 months ago but owing to home renovation, I was unable to get to my CDs around the house. Now that it is over, and I would like to add something to your views. I guess with art of the compact disc, it has to be divided into boxed sets and individual CD as they are two totally different formats. For boxed set, the classical thing you mentioned is definitely very interesting. I would also suggest Velvet Underground's The Velvet Underground & Nico (45th Anniversary) which has the original banana peel; Grand Funk Railroad's Trunk of Funk which comes in like a big trunk; Dr. Feelgood's Looking Back which resembles a cigarette package; Ray Charles Pure Genius - The Complete Atlantic Recordings (1952-1959) which is like a small pick-up once you open the carrier box which comes with a handle; Alice Cooper's Life & Crimes with a picture of Alice behind a 3-D prison window and of course Jethro Tull never failed to come up with some genuine design throughout the years. Their 25th Anniversary Box Set is so luxuriously designed like another cigar box with a wonderful book within. As for individual CD release, The Rolling Stones Rolled Gold, the inlay comes with an origami design which I still can't figure out what it stands for or what it means; As I said before, Jethro Tull never stop to amaze. Their Stand Up 2CD & DVD Edition keeps the original Stand-up design. Then my favorite nband of all time Free, back in 2002, released in Japan, the album Free Live which is a replica of an envelops with stamps that can be pasted on the cover. Then later, they released entire collection individually that theie spine of each of the CD, if put together, reveal two members of the group, namely Paul Kossogg and Paul Rodgers! So much so for the nCD artwork. While going through my collection, I also came across a compilation by Harvest called Harvest Festival. It is not a particularly unusual design but the cover photo has some kind of Biblical reference. Absolutely clever. Maybe one day you would like to do one on great cover pictures of CD/vinyl? Thanks as always.

Thanks for rekindling my interest in this album which has grown on me since I watched your video a few weeks ago. I actually bought the cassette of this album ages ago and later bought a CD but neither of them quite caught my ears until I watched your channel and decided to give it a go. Now I bought the latest version of this wonderful album on Impex and I am impressed. Thank you and I definitely agree with you it is, to my ears, better than Zombie's Odessey & Oracle.

I'm shocked, there are turntables that can't play 45 rpm, really?

I was asked about that. I had a cheap turntable when I was maybe 12 that only worked on 33 1/3 rpm. The needle automatically dropped only at the outer edge of the platter. Thank you for watching
