Alex...I just watched your video. It was AMAZING and I cried...especially when I saw Moms photo at the end. She was so beautiful and special. I was with her once when she asked for Bob Seger Back in 72 at a Sam Goody's store in London. The store clerk was so taken by her...SHE WAS THE BEST AND I AM SO PROUD THAT YOU POSTED THIS VIDEO. Thank you, Alex. You are the greatest brother and you really have a great way of talkin about your passion...vinyl. Keep making these videos.

Alex, I believe we've had similar lives, where music is tightly intertwined with our memories. I still have all my albums purchased in the 70's and 80s. Many of these cover my music room walls, not as decorations though. To me, these albums remind me of people. When I see Dreamweaver, I think of my sister, Street Survivors, my high school rocker friends, American Pie, my grandmother and for my mom, Red Headed Stranger. There's probably 50 albums on the wall, each with a story from my life. I certainly remember my mother along with many others others when I go into the music room. Thanks for the series, I do enjoy hearing your musical knowledge, historical references and stories. Look forward to your upcoming videos. Peter Gabriel was easy, don't know the second.

Thank you for your comments. Just like you, I can’t help but remember my life through musical events. I’m sure this will continue.
The second album is really tough. I don’t know how many albums the band sold. I will reveal the album on next video. Thank you for watching

So sorry to hear about your mom Alex. My mom who passed away in 1996 from cancer was very supportive of my music. When my dad left us, it was just my mom and me but she always remembered when she went to garage sales rummage sales she would always remember to check for records and whatever she could find she brought them home in a bag. She put up with a lot over the years as I played a lot of my music pretty loud. She got to hear all kinds of music such as hard rock country classical. You name it she heard it. The only time she ever got upset with me is when I played Jimi Hendrix his version of the Star-Spangled Banner. She came knocking at my bedroom door and asked me what the heck that was and she was not too pleased with it. Anyway, thanks for sharing your story. Really enjoy your channel and look forward to more of your videos

Thank you for your kind words. Music is how I link many of my life events. Interestingly, while in high school, our football coach played Jimi’s Star-Spangled Banner through the PA system before a football game. Boy, the principal was not pleased although all of us thought it was great. Thank you for watching

You're a great story teller, Alex. I'm sorry to hear about your Mom. She sounds like an awesome one.
I, too , am a big XTC fan. I didn't hear about them until junior high in 82 when I was 12. I heard Generals and Majors on the "new wave" station in LA. I was hooked fo life :). One of the good things about finding a band that you like a few albums in is you have a back catalog you can explore. White Music through Oranges and Lemons ... they were all a little different but still unmistakably XTC. So good.

A band that keep pop music alive and well. Carrying the torch along with Aimee Mann, Marshall Crenshaw and Crowded House. A lot of today’s alternative artists owe a lot to these individuals who helped this type of music not only survive but also flourish. Thank you for watching

@@AllAboutAlbumsGosh, Marshall Crenshaw. That same year, 82, my dad took my friend and I to see The Kingbees, who we really liked, at the Palomino in the San Fernando Valley. Marshall Crenshaw opened, and judging by his name and the venue, we thought he was going to be a boring country singer. We were totally wrong! He (they) stole the show. Bought his ST album the next day. Thanks for jogging my memory!

My mom contacted a local FM radio deejay many decades ago to get a copy of The Hallelujah Trail Soundtrack for me which was not in print. I was very grateful to my mom finding that and getting a copy on reel to reel tape for me. She is also gone now. Hugs
