2010 135i with the Remus Race quad exhaust and Maddad mid-pipes. The blow-off valve you hear is Active Autowerkes. Video is super grainy because it was almost dark when I took the video.
Evo IX vs Lotus Elise

This race was done on a private airstrip, not public streets. You can hear the Evo's clutch slipping badly. It's still on the stock clutch with over 100hp more than stock. Unsure of the mods done to the Elise. Evo ended up winning by 1-2 cars. Edit: The evo's clutch is being replaced now about a month after this video was taken. The stock clutch had a good run, but it has finally worn out.

JMU's car club had a meeting at a members private airstrip runway and this viper showed up. The owner of the air strip was getting ready to sell it so we were trying not to leave tire marks. The car is making 1300rwhp.

Hey man, nice video. I’ve been trying to decide between this the non-res version ? How do you like the resonated .? how loud would you say it is compared to stock ?
It's significantly louder than stock. I'm happy with the resonated version and wouldn't want the car to be much louder. You can always purchase the unresonated mid pipes separately from AWE if you want them later on.

Is this in sport mode?? Man they really detuned the pops and bangs out of the manual supra 😢
No I never put the engine in sport mode because the pops are so bad

Do you need a tune for this?
No you don't. These cars don't have MAF sensors and aren't sensitive to intakes at all. The sensor in the intake is just a temperature probe.
@@Stvee13 Temperature probe output is routed to cpu to inform of air density. If intake has vastly different geometry from stock, providing faster or slower moving air, incorrect afr can result, then also engine damage over time, even with slight different afr from optimal, over 50,000 miles, can cause damage. Tune is needed for all modifications.
@@phill4337 On many cars I would agree. However the b58 is speed density tuned and the DME will automatically adjust for differences in air flow. Search for "b58 speed density" on google and check out the 4 part article from mishimoto for an overview.

Yeah it is. I love the color in real life. It’s hard to get an accurate photo of it though

No the b58 doesn’t have a blow off valve or compressor bypass valve at all unless you add an aftermarket one. It does have the MST v2 intake. You get a lot of turbo noises just from that.

I think Remus tried to strike a balance between creating a good product while staying within the required standards for exhaust pipe noise as required by some states.In that case i would say i will get these for my 135i
still hear that factory metallic sound, maybe should have just stuck with the oem section 1
Adding a second factory resonator cut the metallic sound by a ton. Ultimately there isn't really anything you can do to get rid of it entirely on the s54 unless you quiet the exhaust down to the point of not being able to hear it.

Sounds beautiful man! I am trying to go this set up.. I've thought about AP headers and exhaust but like the SGT a little more. Plus is a little cheaper going SGT and sounds the same.
I have owned a Lotus Exige supercharged and an Evo 9 and in terms of fun the Exige is much better, I also like how it looks a lot more. The Evo on the other hand is much faster both in a straight line and on track once it's modded. For reference, the Evo did 0-60 in 3.6 seconds and was 2.5 seconds a lap quicker around my local track. It's basically a race car with 4 doors.

+The Opinionator I don't post pictures in public. They aren't very expensive in Australia. The lotus I bought for $50k in 2011. The Evo was under $30k.

No idea which one it was. It came on the car when I bought it. I bought a greddy evo 2 catback for it shortly after I bought the car. The off-brand one was way too loud. It had tons of drone. I've got another video showing the greddy exhaust.

93-97 firebirds were ugly. No offense to anyone who owns ones.
It was a little too loud for my liking. My car is a daily driver so it get's annoying have a loud exhaust all the time. I still have that exhaust if you are interested in buying it. It doesn't have any problems, it's just loud.

You say that as if a v6 firebird is a good looking car. The ls1 ws6's were, but the 93-97 firebirds were on the ugly side. That and I get compliments on how my evo looks 10 times more than I ever did in the firebird.
An Evo IX is a significant upgrade from even a LS1 firebird. And a v6 isn't even comparable to an LS1. An Evo IX runs about the same time as an ls1 fbody when both cars are stock and mine has about 100 hp over stock.
evo ix is not a upgrade
I'm helping put a supercharger on it next weekend so it's going to get a little whine to add to the effect.
