Yeah it will be great to have you on. I wanted to give you more credit on the floo video but I had already consulted other people and gained knowledge from those sources before speaking to you.

This is just the one card combo. If you have extenders you can play through Nibiru thanks to Weasel. For example, if you open the Gazelle (or a way to search it), you can grab Code of Soul immediately. This will allow you to make Cyberse Wicckid as your 4th summon to grab Weasel early (and then summon Foxy off the Prince to extend past getting nibbed later). If you get hit with Nibiru before you use the Weasel effect in grave, you can Weasel summon something and then trigger Promcess to keep going. If you get hit with Nib later, you can pass on Balelynx and end on 2 interruptions. If the extender is something else the combo changes a little bit, but my point still stands. With a good hand, you CAN play through Nibiru

It’s the same wording as Polymerization. You can use monsters from both your hand and field for all of these effects.

@@RamenNoodlesTCG thanks for the reply. If I may ask a second question, why do some cards like Rising Carp specify that you can pull monsters from hand AND/OR deck? Is this just a specific ruling when it comes to fusion summoning?

@@Xarf93 That’s actually a very interesting question. As a casual enjoyer of custom cards I’ve done my fair share of PSCT analysis. After reading over a bunch of cards there doesn’t seem to be any discernible pattern between cards that say “or” vs “and/or”. For ruling purposes though, the two conjunctions work the same way. There is effectively no difference between “or” & “and/or”, but I could not figure out exactly why these sorts of cards are worded differently. Thats just one of an (admittedly small) pool of examples of inconsistencies in PSCT from the card design team.

It’s probably a pretty far trip for you, but prizing is pretty good (top 8 wins a full box). If you do decide to play, I’ll be very excited to see what you come up with, Eli! If I’m not mistaken, there’s a store near you that runs Heart of the Underdog sometimes. The banlist used over there is a lot more normal than what Weenie Hut uses, allowing somewhat competitive rogue decks like Marincess, Generaider, Ghoti, Exosister, Altergeist etc. I was hoping to stop by when they did the last one, but weeknight traffic in the city is kinda crazy 💀

Under Shifter you can’t really accomplish much. You can activate your VW names, but they won’t summon themselves because the card from your deck gets banished. If you have Fenrir, you can sometimes make Baronne. If you have e tele you can sometimes make Fortune Tune. It’s important to try to set up a live chuche if you can. We fare much better against droll, but the lines are very hand dependent. You can usually set up Beatrice through Droll, or Dragoon with a good hand (M7 is your friend here).

Fenrir honestly isn’t that great this format anyway. For right now, I think it’s probably better to main the rollback and saga; so go for prosperity over desires. You can replace Fenrir with another staple of your choice. Perhaps another handtrap like Belle or Ogre. Sphere Mode is a okay board breaker rn if you wanna go that route. Talents is solid hand trap insurance. Try them out and see what works for you. Good luck learning the deck! It can be hard at first but stick with it. It’s quite satisfying when you finally start getting the combo lines down.

If I had to take a guess, I’d probably just say that it’s a backrow deck. Having to play into a bunch of set cards can make the matchup quite stressful. War Chariot is also a powerful negation tool that some decks really struggle to deal with.

I’m haven’t tested the 1-1-1 PUNK ratios, but running 3-1-1 worked pretty well when I was testing for my PUNK VW video a few months ago. I went with those ratios because Ze Amin is a strong normal summon, which is something VW doesn’t really have. Normal summoning a ze Amin going second seems a bit fragile so 1-1-1 ratios make sense as well. I don’t like adding another 2 bricks to VW, but it wasn’t awful during testing last time. You can’t play desires with the PUNKs, which is a bit unfortunate. You also play intro droll a fair bit, which really hurts right now. Other than the Photon Lord negate, the PUNKs’ other contribution to the endboard would be easier access to rank 3s. Because we have transaction rollback right now, there is a decreased need for rank 3s. So I’m not considering this for myself right now, but it’s not terrible. It has the potential to get better if/when Beatrice gets banned.

@RamenNoodlesTCG that makes sense, I'm also coming from a position of really budget play and I hate floodgates so I don't like the transaction rollback play just on principle, but I was mostly looking for a second opinion

@RamenNoodlesTCG Gold Pride , Kozmo , Burning Abyss and Plunder Patroll and hopefully Ashened are one of the few times the American made archetypes are awesome.

If you start with Foxy Tune you can summon Note from the deck, and then use any level 3 tuner to make Dragon Drive as normal. If you draw the Deer Note… the only way to do the PUNK combo from there is so tribute summon it. At that point it’s probably better to just discard the Note and play it like a regular VW hand

Speedroid Terrortop (with the one Taketomborg of course) is a quality alternative for builds without Fenrir. You’d have to modify the extra deck to include more rank 3s like Totem Bird and Gossip Shadow. You’d likely need to replace Fortune Tune with Jaja as well, especially if you still wanna run the Muddy Muddragon combo.

I’m glad you enjoyed the video. As for other engines, the Armored XYZ line is very strong and will likely see play in future versions of VW. However, as long as combos with Transaction Rollback are around, it’s probably not worth playing (it pairs better with negation effects that stop hand traps). As for Adventure, the consistency issues drag it down a lot. The main problem is the lack of deck space. A Virtual World deck core is 24 cards MINIMUM (cutting Nyan to 1 and Qing to 2), and then Adventure takes up another 7-10 slots, so you have to cut consistency spells/going second cards or go over 40 cards. I’ve never liked Adventure VW, but it used to be justifiable because of the increased combo ceiling it offered. Many duelists have highrolled their way through tournaments setting up like Baronne + Kristya (Via Baronne and Beatrice) or whatever nonsense you’d wanna do with that, but we don’t need that anymore because we have better tools now.

I could definitely see that. I’d wanted to play more copies of Blue but I wasn’t sure what to cut. Perhaps going over 40 cards would fix this problem.

​@@RamenNoodlesTCGPersonally I think you're playing too many non-engine slots. I'm only slotting in 9 cards for non-engine and none of them are hand traps. I'm on 3 Blue, 3 Jet, 3 Starter, because every single one of those cards represents so much interruption that your opponent either has to stop or contest on their turn.

Phantazmay was quite good against Rescue Ace in testing, it came up at locals a few times.

I did most of the testing for this pre AGOV so I didn’t think of that. That seems like an interesting concept for sure though. Veiler seems solid as well
