    Your video is what practically every community passes and thinks. Why not be more intuitive? Standardize ToneNet, which is a mess, improve controls, the response of settings, there is a lot that needs to be improved and a lot. I had the TOne and ended up selling it for the most frustrating reason, the capture sounds in one way in the software and when it imports to the pedal it sounds in another way, even the response of the capture is different when it is inserted in the pedal. I ended up getting an Acs1 which is a different technology, however, it is much more objective and intuitive.

    I worked as a programmer in the IT industry and I won't buy this because I can buy the Boss IR2 which doesn't require software unless you want to change the IRs. It comes with good ones though. I'm 63 and started with tube amps and pedals. I hate using apps with an amp modeller or pedal. Why? When I can buy something I don't have to do so like the IR2 or just a small combo..

    You’re absolutely right. I love my tonex as well but many times was close to just throwing it in the trash because of the software. I own a kemper BTW but love the way tonex sounds and the size . So yes, love tonex, hate the software. I’m surprised anyone would disagree with that. Cheers.

    I am missing something, but, you can live edit. Maybe the video needs updating? You edit, then change preset, and it is automatically saved.

    • @EverydayChurchGuitarist
      @EverydayChurchGuitarist 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Not sure what you mean. If you change the settings directly on the pedal it doesn’t update the preset, just stays on the pedal. If you change them in the software you have to change the settings, save it to the preset, and related the preset back onto the pedal. Ends up taking 5-6 clicks across two pages just to even apply the changes to the pedal. Way more tedious than necessary.

    The software is nothing so terrible. It is quite complex to use only if you have to profile your amps, but for the vast majority of people, who only use it for selecting presets, well, no problem at all. And, by the way, contrary of what you said, in the worst case scenario, you can just use it with the included presets without even touching a computer, and you can still get it sound amazing: you have simply to enter the "browse mode" (press the pedal and the alt at the same time) and you can select any preset loaded into the pedal directly.

    I bought the tonex one some Week ago... i like how it sounds... the software is unuseble... preparing the sound on pc then transfer in pedal where it doesn't sound the same. It's 20024/5 and you can't edit in real time from pc?!? Crazy. I'll hold the pedal with me cos it's well sounding a lil editable on board... but the guys at IK need to do better... rewrite the software

    I have used eleven rack and mooer( ge200) software. They both are live edit software's. Here is a question. Where do you keep the Tonex PEDAL ?? Maybe on a pedalboard, on the floor? So if that's the case, is it an easier work flow in your practice space / studio to edit the pedal on the floor or edit the pedal from a software platform? I find it easier to edit presets from the software myself. Like I do with eleven rack and mooer.

The only keeping tonex back I think. And this is coming from a raving fan

    Maybe it's my lack of understanding of the English language, but it's precisely because of the budget mindset that your last video didn't make sense to me: "why $700 for the Stomp when you can get a Delay pedal for $300 and a Reverb for $250..." I cannot make sense of that, when I can get like 50 Delays, 50 Reverbs, plus hundreds of other FX for those $700. And why did I say that I use it by itself? Budget! I cannot afford anything else! Maybe I will use ChatGPT next time?

    If we don’t get a major software overhaul in 2025, IK is asleep. The good thing is that everything else suggests that IK is not asleep, but is pushing both the technology and the value in a way that is revolutionary in an already complex market space. After running two Tonex Ones for a year, I’ve just ordered the full Tonex pedal. This will let me run guitar models, bass models, and acoustic IRs through one stereo box and will streamline my home studio considerably, which now has independent paths for all those things, plus the required switching and mixing to bring it all back into the interface. Heck, the Tonex even does away with the interface if you want. Thanks for the vid!

    Having a keyed MP3 is really crucial to my practice. Once I have that I use an older piece of Windows software called "Transcribe!" put out by "Seventh String Software" to manipulate the mp3 so I can slow it down, isolate and repeat the part I'm working on, slowly raising the tempo back to normal. Transcribe will also change the key of a song on the fly. There is a similar app in the Android Play Store called "Audipo" that has been indispensable throughout the years. I can load up an MP3 on the fly at rehearsal if the singers are struggling with singing in a specific key then show them what the song would sound like if we dropped it a few steps. Great content my friend!

    I've got tons of pedals and bought the hx years ago. It's one of my favorite pedals now. I think of it more like a utility pedal. One fx block has my real orange rv100 and the other has my drive pedals from my es8. Then the wet fx from my es8's 7&8loops go to my mesa 290. That's just 2 blocks on the HX and it's already wdw with 3 cabs. From there i can gate right after the drives and another after the preamp for a noiseless rig and clean wet fx. You can also split the blocks and have a hx preamp go to the Mesa while the main channel has the rv100. And then there's the hx stereo fx that swirl in and out while the pedal board pings left and right. . Tldr, it's a pedal board and amp rig exponential modifier.

      Respectfully, if you think I didn’t take the time to learn how to do it you either weren’t listening to what I said in the video or you didn’t watch the whole thing. I’ve spent a lot of time with the pedal and the software and tech is a hobby of mine. If I didn’t know how to use the software I wouldn’t be able to make the complaints I have. The software is not intuitive. Whether you know how to use it or not, the fact that it is unintuitive does not change.

    I recently picked up the Helix floor. I was considering the HX stomp, and adding a few additional pedals on a more DiY board. I’ve used Line6 stuff the better part of 20 years and haven’t really picked up any solo pedals. Went thru nearly every generation of the board starting with the POD 2.0 with the expression board. Only skipped the Vetta. The leap from the HD500X / Firehawk to the Helix generation is hands down the largest in capabilities and significantly increased the price. This thing can do way more than I need it to but also does everything that I need it to do very well. Gear is gear though, everybody argues and debates it endlessly. I was talking with my friends who’ve got the Helix, Kemper, or Neural for which would fit me best… tried them all and went with the Helix. If I were on more of a tighter budget I’d have likely just bought another Firehawk but I have a much better job now.

    Not to be mean but that other guy was a little too full of himself, claiming the HX Stomp is the best gear ever. He lost me as soon as he mentioned “Midi” as a reason to use it. I totally get where you’re coming from about being budget-minded. Like you, I don’t do this for a living. I get gear when I can afford it, and price is a big factor for me-whether it’s waiting six months for good mic stands to go on sale or saving up for a year to replace our 8-year-old soundboard that has broken channels. It’s all God’s money and we need to spend it as wisely as we can (Matthew 25:14-30). A lot of worship guitarists' channels don’t talk about having a budget, making the rest of us feel like we don’t love Jesus as much as they do if we’re not dumping tens of thousands of dollars into our gear, so I really appreciate you keeping that in your videos. I’m glad I found your channel and can’t wait to see more of your videos soon.

    So which of these other options does mods, delay, verb, amps, compression, drives, and other various effects at the same time? I’m sorry, but anyone who’s had to use the HX Stomp as your whole rig knows how valuable the pedal is. I also can use it for bass, acoustic, or even keys if you really have to. And the reason I would use it in a full pedal board, is it allows me to have everything I need all in one board. It can be a back up when everything goes wrong, it can be huge tone shaper with its EQ abilities, it can add whatever wacky effects I need, and fits on a board extremely well. My only issue with pedal is powering the dumb thing. Other than that, the pedal is a God send

    I agree that the hx stomp price is certainly high for a digital processor that was lauched more than 6 years ago. That said, all your arguments is about stuff that replicate only a part of what the hx stomp does: the point is that this unit does everything in a small package, and it does everything quite well. If I had to make a comparison, I would rather consider something in the same product range like: hotone ampero line, headrush core, boss gt1000 core, mooer ge 1000 etc.

  • @masterofreality230
    @masterofreality230 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Your comparison reminded that the HX Stomp is the best option. You are not even looking at the bigger picture. If you had to travel light, the HX Stomp will do it. patch cables? way easier on a modeler. It sounds like you had to reach a little to make your claims. I dont move my equipment. I have my stomp and some favorite pedals, then I can do even more things being connected to my interface and PC. But yea, they are popular for a reason, many reasons.

    I love the stomp....but....i see dudes point. Hes not wrong. I was gonna go single pedals. But i figured 3 good effexts on the stomp and id be saving money ..but its way better than i thought....but i see his point. Idk that it was worth 600...but im happy with it. So im not complaining. I say its worth the price....barely....but its still bad ass. And another thing about singles, if your like me, you may not be expieranced enough with pedals. Ive been playing bass 35 years. But i can see buying a single and not being sure if its right for me. Ans if its a disappointment, you lost money thst couldve went to a stomp...i didnt want a stomp...i took a gamble. Didnt know shit...i plugged it in...first note blew my mind. Its alot...but im surprised how easy it is to use, ive been anke to use it and make presets by pushing buttons...but its kinda overwhelming...kinda...i also like figuring things out. So its cool...but its an extensive process...being a bass player that solos, and plays chords , i know what im lookin for. Its just setting it all up....but i mean hell...ive already made.several loops, and ive got a prerty good grasp of the basics. ..all in all im impressed with it...but its new...well see in about a month.

    Totally get what you are trying to do by finding alternatives to expensive solutions, however there does come a point when you have to bite the bullet. musical instruments are expensive and anything in the signal chain of an electric guitar forms part of that instrument. In the end what matters is value not price. The stomp offers incredible value for money given all the bases it covers. I personally use it as part of a back up rig, where it fulfills various roles depending on the preset mainly for amps, but also reverb, delay and modulation. In addition it acts as a midi controller for other pedals as well as an audio interface for me to use midi guitar 3 on my computer for brass piano and string sounds. I can’t think of any other pedal that can do all of that so cheaply and effectively.

    Lad, the Stomp covers more than one or two pedals as is your argument.... Noise Gate, Compressor, Pitch, Modulation, Drive, Amps, Cabs, Delay, Reverb, Stereo FX Loop, MIDI, Stereo in / Stereo Out, Headphone Output and shed loads more FX.

  • @BryanMorganGoogle
    @BryanMorganGoogle 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I've used the Stomp many times as a standalone/all in one on a Sunday. Noise gate, compressor, 2 drives, a boost, one mod effect, delay, reverb, amp, and cab, in that order. It has just enough DSP and blocks to do it all, if you use the amp/cab combo block. And it sounds great doing it. With a $20 2 button aux switch I have the control I need over those effects. That's $620 (if you buy it all brand new,) for an all-in rig, no other pedals needed. It even has a balanced output, so you can go direct TRS-to-XLR out to a mixer, without a direct box. The real advantage, is being able to go from that rig/preset, to something completely different for a different gig/song style/whatever, with a button press.

      Interesting concept! I don’t have a ton of use for rack mounted stuff personally but I’m sure you’re not alone in wanting something like that

    Sure it doesn't make economical sense to pay more for an HX Stomp only to ever restrict its use for toggling in and out a few modulation and time based effects or just amp modeling when that can be accomplished with other devices for less. So maximize the value of the HX Stomp and use it beyond such restrictions. The HX Stomp is capable of variant settings through snapshots, parameter to switch/controller assignments that the cheaper alternatives can't do. There's also the ubiquity of L6 support that the cheaper guys don't provide.

    I bought this pedal to use with my podgo... i hate the user interface on it, and that made me return it. I prefer setting up on the pc, "set it and forget it". And this pedal did not do that... for something that small, the UI should have been the simplest thing to do.
