Which number castings did you use. Beware, 706 heads with a "battery" looking emblem are prone to cracking near the inside 3 head bolts. Google 706 Castech heads.
Also cleans the paint off
Heat a bucket of water up to 200 degrees and place the water pump in it . After a few minutes see if the water pump’s impeller slips . This PTG fuel pump’s leaking AFC will score # 6 liner . ISX-15 engines will move to 225 degrees before fan drive engages . The most dangerous person in the world is a truck driver with a toolbox equipped with a sharp pointed test light . There are alignment marks on the oil cooler core to the housing . Broken piston cooler nozzle will drop oil pressure . You will be happier with the N-14 over the ISX . Replace the N-14 engine wiring harness .

Thay looks like a shit💩 .load of stop leak, you probably siezed one of the rear cyl more & likely #6 . When a engine siezes they will ouit running , let sit * cool off then it will run again until you get it hot again . The damage is done😢

I had an 855 that did the same thing , over heated , cooled off and started again and drove . Number 3 cylinder developed piston slap, every other stroke had a knock, not a double knock like a rod

The non catalyst 1981-1982 Ford 400 and 351M engines in trucks and Vans had a Crank Position Sensor Duraspark III. You could take the whole feedback carb off of it, and the ECA ( electronic control assembly) would still allow the ignition to function even if the fuel system was off line. The GM Powertrain guys, obviously had the same native cunning from 1997 onwards🥝✔️🇳🇿

That's a cool little test some! And yes, many OE ECMs will run without a cam signal. It will try the two choices of cam positions based on crank position. Good info to share for those playing with combinations

Find a junk automatic transmission and just cut the bellhousing off of it or leave it on there whole. Is it the same pattern as a SBF?
Those are the headers I am going to run on my Ls3 03' Crown Vic swap. I've heard from others that he done a Ls swap on a newer Ranger and has a Vic. He says they look like they will fit. If they don't I'm only out about $90 after tax. They look like they will fit. The s-10 swap headers I'm pretty sure the ones that won't are the ones that loop # 6 cylinder over #8 cylinder tube.

That starter mount will never line up the starter properly. You need the bellhousing and shim plate, and the plate can't be deformed at all, since it's the only thing that properly lines up the starter position. Also, I've never seen a flexplate with that bolt issue before, with oem flexplates or aftermarket, such as Pioneer. The flexplate only bolts on in one position, since it's vital to get it right so the imbalance weight is clocked correctly. I wouldn't even start the engine until the flexplate is installed correctly.

What you do to properly space out clutch and clutch slave? Did you use spacer on clutch slave if so what size? I know fabbot sells different size clutch slave spacer depending what version of the AR5 you use to LS swap using 4l60e bellhousing. Wonder depth of Dakota bellhousing compared to 4l60e, maybe a fabbot clutch master spacers can be used in this swap....!?!
@@b3inc758 we used a soltics slave cylinder and had to measure for a spacer, I'm pretty sure if we were using a Colorado slave the fabot spacer would have worked

if you havent solved it before you can use a borgwarner sbf t18 bellhousing and instead of a fexplate use 2 thick washers inbetween the starter flanges and bellhousing, i use this on my 300 i6 setup and my 308 v8 and it works
I would have used a 4k pressure washer on it after you took it out of the electrolysis bath.
To agitate, use a fish tank air pump, hose and airstone. It will keep it moving. How rusted that block was, you probably need to change out the water solution. Pressure wash the block at that time before tossing it in a fresh solution.

Guys I dug up a 401 Buick nail head motor , it was buried under ground for 25 years, a good friend told me about it when he bought his house, It looked like your motor, I have a 275 gallon home heating oil tank that I cut in half, I filled it with old oil put the motor in for a week, I boiled the motor wood fire under it, the motor freed up, I rebuilt the engine and was in my 65 skylark for years , till I sold it, back in 1992, you can do the same thing to that motor
The "black stuff" on the block is Magnetite. It's a form of Iron oxide. More properly, Iron (II, III) oxide. It will prevent flash rusting as it is itself a form of "rust"

I never thought to use one of those stitch cutters for the split loom. I spent forever cutting and unwrapping the stock harness in my personal twin turbo 300. No LS head (yet).

as is no, its pretty tall, with a oil pan and intake made to fit, yeah.
That black coating is rust, sorta. Like gun blue, it is a type of iron oxide. when I clean my hand files I soak them in vinegar, for a similar effect.
