Would you say th deepmind is versatile enough to do 80s sound but also modern synths ? Im about to pull the plug and get one
Yes, if on a certain budget I would definitely go for DeepMind 12, not 6. Then my favourites are Novation Summit and Sequential OB6😎
@@jangayen thanks ! I am just amazed how well it managed to replicate most sounds from all the songs in this video
Nice
Would this work for Van Halen-esque Oberheim saw sounds?
Yes, this is a very versatile synth with options for different filter settings/modes. You will get that stereo panned voicing as well, known from OB-8/X
Very nice
Hi. I’m purchasing an Astrolab soon. Will these sounds work on it? I’m sorry for such a basic question. I’m thrilled at the prospect of being able to use these incredible sounds in a live situation. Any advice from other fans would be most appreciated and welcomed. Many thanks in advance.
Hmm, I have actually no idea. This depends on if Astrolab contains all Arturia’s vst’s from Arturia V Collection. Let me know when you got your lovely Astrolab!
It would be way more useful, if you did a screencast of the sequences, without the singing, and that you do isolated notes playing (midi keyboard), of other motives that the intended song, to proof it's your recreations. take this as a compliment, that you make a very close to original sounding patches, that it's hard to tell the difference!
Thanks for your feedback! I understand what you mean, but on the other hand, there are rarely any separate sound elements from the main artist's song. So the beat comparison is made with the whole arrangement… but I do get your point! With a trained ear and background information you can figure out which synth was used and then with knowledge of sound design and programming create the sound. In a couple of videos on TH-cam I've used the 'solo' function in my DAW with screen recording to demonstrate how certain presets sound on their own. Here is an example from my recreation of Relax with Frankie Goes To Hollywood: th-cam.com/video/4Qo7aukQOX0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0sDNJlXtxHQtKeW7 But…sound these and other presets close to the original song?🤔 Customers are best to answer and decide that main question. Please read what reviews customers have after buying my presets, these are on my website: www.teckerbeats.com/basic-01

Hello, Mr. Gayen I recently bought a timbre pack for DeepMind 12 called “Behringer DeepMind Hits 74-86”, and I followed the instructions you provided, but unfortunately I didn't succeed in loading them into my synthesizer. I've also tried to install them using DeepMind 12 Editor, but curiously, when I load the file with the timbre pack, no name or information about the timbres appears. I'm sending you this printout so you can understand me better, and I'm waiting for your help in the hope that I can use the timbres I bought from your site. Thank you in advance!
Hi and thanks for supporting my work. Some experience difficulties installing patches on DeepMind. The trick is to NOT use the DeepMind editor it is unfortunately not doing the job right. Use an ordinary sysex editor. But it can be everything from your setting in your DeepMind that needs to be changed. Hard for me to guess what causes the issues you have. Please try to download any other preset and transfer them to your DeepMind. PLease contact me using my email that you can find here:www.teckerbeats.com/about-3

petshop west end girls mr mister Broken Wings. the synth strings are very nice and the bass Waiting For A Girl Like You the. the pads sound is nice here too. The Cars - Drive these would be nice to get in a pack
i really want to buy it but can't find a buy button only 80's packs...
Thank you for your interest! Yes, that’s correct I only sell these presets in different preset packages with circa 10 songs per pack. This is due to all web administration selling every song separately. You find Thriller in preset package Hits 77-85. www.teckerbeats.com/product-page/hits-of-the-80s-1977-1985-part-2
I have to say that the Blue Monday was excellent, it really stood out.
🙏 Thank you, yes I put a lot of research and hours of programming to get as close as possible. The whole song is recteated by the way.
Very interesting! Does these .wav files have sustaining loop information in them, so I can load them into other sampler software or hardware?
No, not use the loop function for the samples outside the Arturia V Collection Emulator II. But you can of course import the samples to your own sampler/drum machine and use them. Most instrument sounds are created on different Afturia V Collection instrument plugins. Wav-file samples are mostly drum sounds and SFX.
Great
🎹 Great piece of work! I know how much effort it took you, amazing job. I'm really impressed ☺♥♪

I hope there will be more sounds that can be used, hopefully though in the V8 🙏 All the packs are great but the 🇮🇹 disco👌👌👌.... At other webshop i buy the midifiles so i can edit them, only Fun Fun - Color My Love & Happy Station not to be found 😔 Awesome work Jan 👌
Hello and thanks for your support and loyalty Rön! Yes, all refined sounds works for Arturia V Collection 8, 9, and X (10). Most new sounds are drums (Emulator II V) and more presets on songs that I have created a full (or longer) midi file arrangement. I guess there are, besides the new drum presets, 50-75 new presets. But one great benefit is that I have created sound banks for each song. You don´t need to scroll through all presets in f.e. Soound Bank "Hits 78-83" to find the sounds for a song. Every song now have their own "folder" = Sound Bank in Analog Lab, or if you open an individual Arturia instrument, you can see all songs "Sound Banks" that's been associated with that instrument. Open such Sound Bank and see what presets created for that instrument and song. You may find more info on my blog: www.teckerbeats.com/blog
Hello, I've bought the "Hits 78-89 Presets VC8+9 Bundle" and I have the V-Collection 10 and Ableton Live 11 DAW, but still don't know how to use the presents, can you help?
Of course, but you need to be more specific. Start by carefully reading my instructions in the included PDF, where I explain how to use them, also link here: www.teckerbeats.com/_files/ugd/787547_5fc8694866924bcfa8e6787dbcdc6500.pdf In the pdf you also have my email for support, but I have no knowledge about Cubase, Ableton Live, Fruity Loops or how other DAWs work. But loading a midi file into them should be very simple, else google it. Watch this video as well, where I overall explain how a loaded midi file arrangement then is to be loaded with associated Arturia instruments to the each of the recorded midi tracks. If it on one track says, "Jup-8 V Thriller Brass", assaign the Jup-8 V to that track and then load Thriller Brass to Jup-8 V.
I bought all of your great songs and presets a while back and I have some problems with the latest version of Arturia. Is there an update for your loyal customers? ;)
Thank you Collin! 🙏Yes, as I tell in the video loyal customers can always contact me on my email, see my website www.teckerbeats.com/about-3 ... and I´ll get back with a discount code to use on when you purchase the new/upgraded preset pack on my web store. You'll only pay the price difference and get more complete and refined presets, samples and arrangements.
Hi Collins I use all the packs in the V 8 from Arturia, I have no problems
Where do you get the kits for the EMU II?
I have done all the sound design myself. Presets and samples and built a “drum kit” for Emu II V with Thriller drum sample sounds (mostly Linn LM-1 and Roland TR-808 sounds). www.teckerbeats.com
@@jangayen So you just guessed the sounds by ear? That's impressive. And the synth sounds as well. I can't imagine that you just guessed it, there must be more to this. It would be great if you ever showed us how you do it.
@@alyctro8158 Haha, thanks, but yes, sometimes I have guessed what synth that was used. I'm rather trained to recreate a sound I hear and know what synth that can be or have been used to create it. But I have searched on the internet: what gear did f.e. A-ha use on the recording of "Take On Me". Then I choose those virtual instruments in Arturia and start creating the sounds. Sometimes you can use an Arturia factory preset and teak it further, sometimes you need to start from scratch. If that synth isn't available in Arturias collection I go for a synth that can recreate that sound as close as possible. Then you need to find out what drum machine where used and find samples that are correct. Often I need to tweak those samples further with eq, reverb etc. I started to play with synth in the 80s myself and had and still have many synths from that era. That's the foundation of how I "know" which synth to use - I recognize the sound caracter. Sometimes the artist use ordinary factory presets. One of the most used factory presets for synth bass on hits of the 80s were the Yamaha DX7 "Bass 1". This is my latest video: th-cam.com/video/6wdLsgu3n5o/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ImIhdudq4jXR08fJ Aslo check ou my recreation of synth sounds for Thriller: th-cam.com/video/uUr6ONh9mrE/w-d-xo.html ...and the recreation of Relax: th-cam.com/video/4Qo7aukQOX0/w-d-xo.html
Sorry, not so clóset 👎
not accurate parties... guitar lick, for example
True, that is played on keyboard using samples from my Fender Strat. Besides that, it could have been more variated and groovy (accurate) 😎
Arturia plugins sound so lifeless…
This was producer.. not plug in.. !!
Sounds good but inevitably plug-in recreations always sound like karaoke to me.
def sounds alike like the demo
I love it!!!!
Nice
WAOUHHH !!! 👏👏👏👏
Justin Bieber sorry versión purpose tour plz
@@IsaiAI1 Thanks for the suggestion, but my focus is on hits from the 80s.😎
the bass sound is not an arp 2600, somehow anthony is wrong but the bass is actually a jupiter 8
How you know that?
Nice recreation Jan.....I like the way you ve broken down everything!! You've deconstructed and reconstructed this of music to a Tee!
🙏Thank you 🙏
Which daw is this?
I use Logic Pro X (10.7). And my purpose here is to recreate the sound on the virtual synths (Arturia) as close to the original as possible, following the head synth programmer for Thriller - Anthony Marinellis guides. I know a put my chin out saying it is a recreation of the original recording. There’s no extra mixing/mastering done here with million dollar studio equipment, no Quincy Jones or above all, regarding mixing, no Bruce Swedien (head mixing/mastering engineer). And of course they layered and mixed down lots of vocal, guitar and synth stems/tracks. Lots of the synths were recorded live by Greg Phillinganes. They used sequencer as well (Synclavier), but most parts were played live. My arrangement lacks a lot of that “live feeling”. I have quantised all tracks, due to my lack of Greg P playing skills☺️.
@@jangayen Thank you for the detailed description. It was a really nice cover!
Great
That sounds great. I would love to hear some parts with the late great Vincent Price in there too. Great work Jan 👏
Dear Jan. Great Arturia Demo!
Thank you Chris!!🙏
Very nice!!
This is basically my problem with vst plugins, this lack of depth.
It's not the plug-ins it's the producer
You also need a replica of the linndrum and roland tr 808 for the drum machine sample it make the track more beefy i have a reason rack extension that use a replica of the Linndrum and also for the tr 808 clap and hit hat, also the yamaha CS 80 was use during the thriller session same for the fm sound of the synclavier , Anthony Marinelli show how crazy was the amount of layering they use for a track like this.
@@Meteotrance Agree! All drums in this arrangement are samples from the source (Linn LM-1 and Roland TR-808). Anthony had special e-proms installed in the Linn machine with samples from the 808. Where (or if) the CS-80 where used on the song Thriller isn’t revealed (as far as I know)? But furthermore used on f.e. Billie Jean. Synclavier is also used a lot on the album.
the midi file that sounds like the midi file
Aaah yes, I wish I could play like Greg Phillinganes ☺
The bass is good. The rest sounds like midi.
