AWD Matrix/Vibe Transmission, Transfer Case, CV Axle Removal TIPS and TRICKS. Don’t make my MISTAKES
AWD Toyota Matrix/Pontiac Vibe transmission, transfer case, and CV axle removal & replacement. Watch this so you don’t make all the mistakes I did doing this “blind” without a guide. The common Haynes manual on the Corolla/Matrix/Vibe does not cover AWD models specifically.
This video is on a 1st gen Matrix/Vibe (2003-2008), including the part numbers below. The 2nd gen (2009-2013), while similar, is not specifically covered and could be different.
PARTS:
Transfer case right side seal: 90311-36006 (OEM Toyota) | 710954 (National Oil Seals)
VVTi solenoid seal/o-ring: G1917-32010 (OEM Toyota)

This is an unfortunate followup to my previous A/C compressor clutch, pulley, and field coil video. After less than a year the C-clip holding the field coil onto the compressor came loose and allowed the whole area to get messed up pretty badly.
