I make music every day so I thought I'd share it with the world
Improvisation 81: Yesterdays Anew
Long ago,
A little child was lost
Broken hearted and distraught
Long ago
He didn't know who he was
Or what to do
It was dark.
It was cold.
Moments came, beautiful moments
Briefly then, they were whisked away
The light did come one day
But faded
The colors, were grey
Life was dull.
New love, here and there
Nothing felt right
New troubles
New adventures
I'm growing
Getting somewhere
I'm going to be somebody
I've got friends!
And confidence!
WHAM!
The world ended.
I froze.
The boy was me, and I was not well.
The color faded yet again.
Cold and alone.
Then, from the distance came
A brush of paint
On a canvas of my mind
I wasn't happy.
I wasn't ready.
I wasnt okay.
I said no.
But I wanted out.
I was restless
I was idle for too long
But I was frozen
The brush painted her portrait
Her imagined image
Yet it was skewed
Not reality
Not who I was
But who she wanted me to be
I faught
I broke
I was not well
I had not recovered
The brush showed me landscapes
And scenes
A whole world I'd never been
But I was so broken
I never bothered to care.
And quickly soon
The brush got angry
Got mad
Got tired
And weary
It snapped.
Her portrait was ruined
I had failed.
I had not changed like I thought
Like she thought
I was still the lost little child I'd always been.
And as fast as the brush rushed in,
It ran way
To paint a new canvas
But in that time, since it ran away
I had been not idle.
I became what I always was
A horn for music, singing and sounding
Creating my own colors, with sounds
Though all was dull and grey in my mind
So long as the piano,
The horn, the trombone or whatever
Could make a sound
I could create my own color, my own portrait, an image of myself, for myself.
So I adventured
I grew
I explored
I studied
And I knew,
All would be well.
But that brush, now
As I was before,
Seems to have lost that color
She tried to give me so long ago
Perhaps maybe, with my newfound light
I could rekindle her's
Or at least offer her a sound
So that maybe the days
May not feel so bad
Maybe somehow
The wrongs of yesterday
Can be righted and undone
And tomorrow can be brighter.

I don't know how I've found your channel but, this video spoke to me in a personal way. I don't know how you do it, but this score or improv you played is just how my life played out. I'm sure you played with a purpose, I'm sure you know what you're doing. But after seeing your other videos, this one particular video keep reminding me how my life just went by. Uncertain, yet I still feel hope in a certain point in my life. I need to keep moving, even I feel like quitting every single step I take. I'll crawl if I have to, I want to say this music is my experience. But unfortunately, I can't say my life is this beautiful. I keep getting overwhelmed by emotions and thoughts that sometimes I forget that I used to be just a dude who enjoys creating music too. Why have I stopped? I don't know. Sorry for rambling on, but I just want to thank you for this particular video. I'll be tuning for more. Maybe just maybe when I got back on my feet, I'll create music as moving as you. Once again thank you.
Just play a little everyday, even if it isn't very much. I didnt get here overnight. Most of the time I never have an idea where I'm going with the music, I just play from my heart and my soul and let my emotions flow through my fingers into the keys. I guess as of late I've been feeling similar to how you have, just trying to get by one day at a time. Anyways, don't give up hope and keep trying. Music is a beautiful gift, I believe in you!

Clouds are just liquid-liquid bubbles that meld continuously rather than the well-defined boundary we see with liquid-gas bubbles. Particles = small bubbles Fields = big bubbles And nice song! Get a better mic for it though! ❤

22:27 The high notes here is my trumpet falling onto the keyboard. I decided to just roll with it and moved it aside and added those notes to what I was doing. Luckily, the trumpet played in key for the most part.

Use all this catepillar time to strengthen yourself, grow and find out what you are made of. Don't try to rush the metamorphosis because if you do, you will emerge as a shadow of the real you. You are young and this is the time to find out about yourself, your strengths and the maturity that comes from facing those fears. You will find that one person who will complement you. When you do, you will look back on this as the trial by fire that you needed to get to the top of the mountain. It will be worth it. Do not be impatient. Enjoy being yourself and keep creating these musical stories. 🤠

how long you been playing for?
About ten years off and on, I started playing trombone in 6th grade but switched to horn freshman year of highschool while still playing trombone in jazz, but since I left college in 2020 I haven't been playing as much, but have been trying to get back into it
