The only time my hermits didn’t hide from me was when my big male and new male were establishing the pecking order. After reading some of these comments i felt pretty happy with my set up and how my crabs behave even if they are still shy right now. My first two have molted many times in my old set up in a 20 gal. Just upgraded to a 75 gal and added 5 crabs. Now I’m curious if i have too many males going for the bigger ones at the stores. Love to chat hermit crabs with people.

I'm 8 and before I got a hermit crab I looked up what day need and I got one and they've been alive for 5months

I recently got some hermit crabs from someone on Craigslist(didn’t like how small the cage was so I got them plan on upgrading to a 40 gallon breeder next week) but I definitely have some purple pinchers and definitely a few Ecuadorian hermit crabs are they able to stay together or should I separate them when I’m able to?
