DISASTROUS! (well kinda) Succor Creek Camp Tour. Back to Leslie Gulch!
Things don't always go as planned (someone once said). Don't get me wrong we had a great time just not all of us. Coyote Works tapped out, Kelly and Melissa fell out, Shawn Little dropped out and Travis Hudson bailed out...it was a mess.
Still, whatever we did with whomever was left went really well and we'll go back many more times.

    How are you liking it after 4 months? Did you notice any droning, rust or leaks?

    • @blackpearlvoyager4174
      @blackpearlvoyager4174 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      After 4 months it's actually sounding a little better, not louder, just better. No rusts or leaks that I can tell. It's good quality stainless steel material I think. As far as droning, I haven't noticed any natural droning tendencies. However, I do notice it under some certain circumstances like when I'm doing about 50 mph and 5th gear. Maybe pulling up a slight grade. It'll give you somewhat of a drone but as soon as you pick up the RPMs (take a gear down) or back off the pedal, the droning just goes away. Thanks for watching 🤙🏼

      I did over 2 days, but on and off early afternoon and early the next day. Total time about 4 hours, maybe less if I had watched this video! If you get the lower rails right it goes pretty quickly. Just nuts and bolts. Easy really 👍🏼

    What route did you take to get to snively from Leslie Gulch?

    • @blackpearlvoyager4174
      @blackpearlvoyager4174 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Here's the route. Reverse if you coming from Leslie Gulch to the north. From snively hot springs along Owyhee lake road just go north until you get to the town of Owyhee or you can make a right hand turn on Overstreet Rd and get out to highway 201. Head south on 201 till you get to Succor Creek road and go south through Succor Creek Canyon and up the other side till you'll see the signs for Leslie Gulch. It's an incredible drive through Succor Creek canyon! Thanks for watching and have fun!

    That's perfect. Hate the shiny bolts too! Do you think there is a way you know of to maybe have a part of the cage cover the back? It would be little bit of peace of mind security wise. Thanks.

      I suppose someone with some skill could fabricate some sort of locking bar that goes across the back window which would limit the size of anything you might be able to pull out of there but I found it unnecessary . Since the Gladiator tailgate locks and you really can't see anything in the back, even through the back window, there's nothing to entice a thief to take the chance of standing on the bumper and literally crawling inside to pull something out. Frankly, I think it would be easier to look into a car and break in if you see something and can be in and out in a few seconds. Most thieves won't take the time it takes to pull anything out of the back which would be limited to the size of the opening. 😆 Anyway, since this video I have added a second layer of protection, you might say, in the form of a swing out spare tire carrier. This adds even more time as you need to figure out the process of getting it opened, a combination of steps that the average thief wouldn't know. Thank you for watching and commenting! @earlvoyager4174 Spare tire Might be a good idea! I had a wrangler in 97 (soft top) and I never left anything in it that I wasn't ready to let go. Nobody ever touched it. Different times now unfortunately. Thanks for your quick response! I'll watch more of your videos so I can ask a million more questions. ;)

    My last set of tires were the Kanati in 37/12.5/17. They worked awesome on snow and ice, probably the best I’ve ever seen. I had problems with balance on mine too. They always vibrated.

    • @blackpearlvoyager4174
      @blackpearlvoyager4174 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have to agree with you that the traction from the Kanati tires are exceptional and that's what I liked about the most. Unfortunately I could no longer get past the weak side walls and the balance issues. The Falken Rubitreks have proven to be just as capable and I won't be looking back 😆 Cheers!

    What is going on with the 78 Cherokee??🤷🏼‍♂️

    • @blackpearlvoyager4174
      @blackpearlvoyager4174 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We're still working on the 78 wagoneer. I had to completely replace the fuel system tank lines pump everything in order to get it to run reliably. The pickup tube it rotted away leaving about 5 gallons of unusable fuel in the tank and there was no float on the tank gauge😂 It was a mess. I've had some other higher priority projects in the works but I haven't forgotten about it and we will get it out on the road and there will be another video 🤙🏼 Thanks for asking!

    There is all kinds of adjustable track bars for jeeps lol. Plus that metalcloak bar is wayyy overpriced for what it is.

    • @blackpearlvoyager4174
      @blackpearlvoyager4174 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are correct my friend. There is no shortage of different styles and brands of track bars for the for the Jeeps. This was the best quality at a price under $190 that I was able to find. You can spend three, four or $500 on a track bar but that's just not me. Thanks for watching and commenting!
