Looks good, nice and clear. Was up that way not long ago heading up towards John O’ Groats. Colour grade look good - Beautiful part of the world, nice video 👌
Thanks a lot, it really is, feel lucky to live near such great roads and scenery
@@parallelfinn yeah what a place to be near! I’m in the central belt, Loch Lomond or the Ayrshire coast isn’t too far away, but the amount of traffic often ruins it 🙄
Camera looks good mate. Grading looks good too.
Thank you! Good to hear :)
When was this filmed? I rode up to and camped at Summer Isles at the weekend and passed through this area. Funnily enough, I was keeping an eye out for you - lol. All day Saturday and Sunday morning was fantastic, got a bit cold late afternoon Sunday. We had a great trip. No filming, just for fun.
It was just on Saturday! About 5-5:30pm. Yes the weather this weekend was perhaps one last hoorah for summer. A good weekend of choice for your trip! I do enjoy sometimes riding without a cam, actually, different experience and one less thing to think about.
@parallelfinn yes, we would have been hitting Ullapool at about that time. When I am filming, I try to capture what I had in mind, then put the gear away for the day. It's nice to still have that bit of alone time Ride safe Pal.
Go for it son I'd be tear-arsing up there on my valkyrie, give em a rev too so they know youre coming 😉👍🏍💨 ride safe mate
Cool❤🔥
Do a wheelie next vid
happens to most of us bro :) now theres more of us to love :D
Don’t think I could go back to a bike w/o ABS now. I’m not an edgy rider and can’t remember when it last kicked in, maybe 2/3 years ago, but I like knowing it’s there.
Bike's sounding great 👍

😂
What do you say, should I rather get a ninja500 se, or a cbr500r?
I dont know much about the new ninja, but what i do know is you really can't go wrong nowadays. I think the cbr may still feel physcally bigger if thats a factor for you, bu if not, pick the one you like the looks of more xD
@@parallelfinn Haha, I've been told to get the cbr many times and the same goes for the ninja 😅 I mean, I love the "physicality", the weight of the cbr, but I love the acceleration, speed and agileness of the ninja. I've ridden a bike that was around 130-40kg and must say that it's way too light. But on the other hand, the cbr is too heavy. But I'll probably get the ninja 500 SE. Thanks for your opinion!!
It’s all down to your right hand the harder you twist the faster you go and vice versa
Want one so badly but I just can’t accept that exhaust… The ninja 400 isn’t much better but it is still “better”… Personally I think I’m going to try to get an Aprilia RS457 though, the 270* crank sounds so much better.
GREAT vid man, really enjoyed this. Super excited to try my first day, gotta get off my ass and sort one out So you mind if I DM you with some Qs?
Thanks a lot man, 🙏 definety recommend - everything I heard before hand (improves riding, learnt the full capabilities of the bike) is so true, and I'm a pretty nervous rider sometimes 😅. Happy to answer Qs in Dms!
Yo, bought my first bike, exactly the same, 16k miles 2005, drives like butter, have to hit that follow for future issues (I hope we gonna get just few :D)
I hope they treat us both well!
why u no start timer at start line?
Hol up is the checkered line not the start line? 😅
Well done for getting out there and trying it. I dont enjoy track riding myself, I'm too conditioned on the behaviour of other road users when I'm riding, I struggle to shake that on the track. There were guys passing you way closer than necessary. No need for that. Track day hero's don't care about putting others in danger if it gives them half a second a lap. Seen it in various different forms of amateur motorsport. Nice production though 👍
@soggybawsmoto Definetly were some cheeky and dangerous over/under takes, especially when we're told in the briefing not to do that. The track was such a different experience from the road in many ways and while I certainly feel more confident In my bikes abilities in a sticky situation, I wouldn't want to replicate this kind of riding on the road, far too many variables, road surface, other road users.
I thought KH was a clockwise circuit? Not a track rider myself but a few of those passes looked a bit too close. Kudos for trying it.
@@jakesolo2872Thank you, this was a reverse day, it would usually be clockwise
Bro i heard the song and i coudnt move for that duration of the vid
69 minutes or im not watching
That can be the extended edition xx
Nice video. Less swearing would be even better
I have this bike my first bigger bike going from zx6r and love this bike, did you buy this? Or did something else catch your eyes?
Awesome! I ended up going with an fz6 as it more more in my budget/what I was looking for at the moment!
I was between this and the street triple rs but on the rides this felt much better.
Did u guys really just take up two car spaces for your bikes 😂
Haha whoops, yeah we both sat at separate tables too 😜
Bikes are allowed to park in car spaces but must follow all the rules that cars do. Yes this means only 1 bike per space. It's why I love it when car parks have dedicated bike parking, saves so much space and avoids people having a go for taking up car spaces. Even though we are just as entitled to use them as any other motorist.
yummy
Congratulations to a great buy. Have mine for 2 years now and is so pleased with it. Changed the exhaust and removed the midpipe and the sound is so much better. Ride safe.
Definetly changing the exhaust yeah! Some little things I've still got to do like brakes and tyres as they're both subpar right now but nothing drastic. Looking at changing the clutch cable down the line for something hopefully a bit lighter but sounds like a bit of a job (for me anyway!) Thanks again.
I hate MM, this guys will show any clip as long as it gets his video above 10 min so he can cash in that sweet sweet ad money, he doesn't care about any bikers or how are they seen through those movies. I think "Moto Stars" is even worse, that guy always adds his commentary like "Oh yeah this biker was not prepared for something" - and it shows guy going over 100 mph, yeah no wonder he was not prepared... And on top of that I hate his accent
I love this bike but I'm thinking of selling mine. Getting parts for this bike is a god damn nightmare. Almost everything has to be special ordered from the manufacturer. I tried buying some hoses for the cooling system and no place had anything in stock. It was like a 2 month wait to get from the manufacturer.
Just hearing that makes me want to sell mine I haven't had any problems where I have to find parts but I don't even want the problem
Get wide bars and risers unreal bike and I also own a BMW s1000r and Honda Hornet the FZ6 is the best investment I have ever made my everyday go to bike much fun. I also put S1000r side fairings and front mudguard one tooth smaller front sprocket and 4 degree timing wheel on it as well as r6 throttle what a blast.
What are your opinions on this bike. looking to get this after passing my A2.
Very reliable, enough power, feels and looks like a bigger bike, head Turner.
hearing you say just eat potatoes as an Irishman made me chuckleXD
just subbed, in a similar position. just bought an fz6 today! i hope learning on it going from a dirtbike will do me well, im 200lbs but dont know the conversion to stone
That looks like an awesome road! There are some that are good here, but this is really open. Love it!
Beginner? You seem to know how to ride a motorcycle. I'm a beginner and as much as I would love to buy a MT-09 I probably need to start on a 500cc.
I called myself beginner because I still consider my actual riding skill quite low and this was the first bike of this capacity I've ridden. I would definetly go with a 500! :)
Potatoes are full of carbs they keep you bloated, greens
I'm def in need to loose 2 stone, it's affecting preload on my bike 🤣🤣🤣, I'd say to you go to a track day session trainning, you learn a lot about cornering, all bikes are different they way they handle, and being fit will help, I've got my FZ6 up for sale and really debating to keep it, I'm lucky I have a couple of bikes, ride safe ride to a speed your happy with👍👍👍
It definetly does affect suspension 🤣 yeah the fz6 handling is very different to my old cbr500rz definetly taking a bit of getting used to, going on a track day this year so will defineyly be valuable learning (and fun) time! Cheers!
Nice to see a sensible rider
24 stone to 14.5 stone, hardly any exercise. Full keto diet for 1 year straight. Easy peasy, intermittent fasting too.
That's a huge loss, nice one. Diet is 90% for sure, can't outtrain a bad diet.
Thank you for your video. I found it really interesting, especially because I also switched from a CBR (250) to the FZ6. My FZ6 is from 2007, and I feel like our impressions are quite similar. One thing that bothers me a bit is the idle on the throttle cable. I feel like I always experience a strong jerk when shifting up and down, and I'm not sure if it's related to the throttle cable. Otherwise, I find the FZ6 to be a very beautiful motorcycle, not only visually, but also to ride. I also feel that the handling in curves is quite good. However, I'm not entirely sure about the engine's running culture. I somehow feel tempted to ride fast, rather than leisurely cruising, which I would actually prefer. So, I'm always tempted to push the engine, which of course is on me and not the motorcycle. I'm not entirely sure if maybe I wouldn't be better off with a touring motorcycle or an adventure bike, rather than this great engine, which is actually too powerful for me.
You're welcome! And thanks for the comment! I completly agree with everything you've said here. The gear changes are defiently less forgiving than the cbr, maybe because of the lack of slipper clutch. I think the bike is nice to ride at a reasonable pace but it certainly does urge you on to go faster since all the power is at high revs. Thanks again - Finn
Just use AI for upscale ;)
Dude, Potatoes AREN'T the way to go. Grilled Chicken and Eggs are absolutely the most satiating foods. You haven't lost enough weight yet to know what works.
What works will be different for different people. Potatoes are at the top of the satiating food index, look it up. I'm saying to have them instead of pasta and rice, not instead of eggs and chicken. Of course they are great and very satiating too. From the age of 13-19 I was a gym lad, but fell of the horse hard, got the knowledge, just getting back to it now.
@@parallelfinn The point is to be satiated by something with maximum nutrition. Taters ain't it. You'll be hungry soon after and before you know it, you'll be down the chippy. Get your body off the carbs completely for a while. Maybe a bit of sweet potato, but certainly lay off the starchy taters. Trust me on this. It's how the body manages on tiny portions post-surgery. Meat, fish and eggs are the means to lose weight while maintaining nutrition. Not Taters. Try grilled chicken, poached egg, sweet potato and spinach leaves. I virtually lived on that for two months prior to surgery and the weight fell off. I knew I'd fall into bad habits without the surgery though, before you ask.
Nothing beats gastric surgery mate. I was twenty-three stone on the 1st of July 2023. I went on a high protein diet and booked gastric sleeve surgery for mid September. It's now 24th April and I'm 15 and a half stone. I stopped smoking during lockdown and put on two and a half stone taking me from 20.5 to 23 stone. Spending that 4 grand in Turkey was the best thing I ever did. I even treated myself to a 1998 Fireblade as a well-done gift now that I can reach the bars.
That's great, glad that worked out and you managed to lose the weight with with the help of gastric surgery. Getting a bike out of it aint too bad either. 😊 Cheers for the comments 👍 - Finn
Ride like a commuter did you say?. I just made a video about that. I did get a little stick for my riding saying I ride too fast :) You ride how you like mate.
I'll have a look! Thanks
Where was the big brain?
Not present
Very nice. Is it on stock exhaust? Note sounds great.
Yes, great sounding for stock right? Runs very lean so get all the pops 😅 thanks euro emissions I guess
@@parallelfinn contemplating on getting this or go financially wrecked on a cbr650r. So far the cbr500 is looking like the wiser purchase. Thank you for your reply mate.
Def happened to me but i suspect that you are pretty new to riding so: lean and trust your tires (while breaking a little bit with the rear if necessary)
Bad advice don't break around corners break before them
@@jdhxbdu lol obviously you break before the corner, If you don't it's not ''a little bit'' of breaking during the corner. According to you, you absolutely shouldn't break in corner but then what is trail breaking lol, also I said that you can use bit of rear break if necessary (which was the case), meaning that if you entered the corner too short or too late you can adjust the trajectory by taping the break. Don't criticize if you don't have experience and don't know what you're talking about
@@litare4328 you got exposed you don't know what you're talking about
Ali express. I bought a couple of cans for £25 each. 👍
If you haven't already purchased end cans. Check lextek out. Reasonably priced.
I haven't yet, thanks I will!
You should always be biting the inside of your cheek a bit while speaking in a properly fitted helmet. Slightly related: my last video was on the workouts I do to gear up for cross country motorcycle touring.
I liked the end of the video about speed. As a motorbike rider in my late 50's, seeing these youngsters taking corners at 100+ MPH is not fun to watch. Seeing you riding safely and getting things off your chest is the way to go for me. Love your content, and as they say, would you gamble and try to get to your destination 15mins earlier, or get there in one piece, i'd choose the latter for sure. Stay safe out there young man!
Thanks a lot for the comment, it's really good to know that - I think a lot of people certainly ride above their skill level for attention, or just a lack of awareness of mortality 😅 Thanks again and ride safe!
Its a constant challenge here too. Look into internittent fasting. There are lots of ways to do it but i follow(ed) 8/16. Try to have all your meals within an 8 hour period then go without food for 16 hours. This stops you snacking at night. The easeist way to do it with a normal routine is to skip breakfast (which prevents the roll and sausage going to work) and take an early lunch and normal dinner. I lost 2 stone in six months, and kept it off for about a year. Sadly fell of the wagon due to a period of ill health but back at it now again.
Thanks for the comment! Intermittent fasting is something I failed to mention in this video actually. I skip breakfast mostly out of convenience as I slog my way out of bed to go to work 😁 but also because i find I don't need good until lunch, allows for 2 larger meals too for sure. Sorry to hear about the proverbial falling off the wagon, 2 stone is a big difference for sure and I look forward to the day i can get there too. Sound like you've got good knowledge for a strong start getting back on the horse! Thanks again!
