    I have been driving sports bikes only I’m 52 now I do have a 2023 Gsxr 600 now don’t care for 1000 anymore .. but as I get older have to say I need something more comfortable.. but am also not a Harley guy I’m a sports bike guy .. been driving since I was 14 .. started out on dirt bikes then my love sports motorcycles.. keeping my 600 but also would like to have a Kawasaki 650 in my garage .. I also thought about the 4RR but to me that bike is way way over price .. for that price better of getting a 600 or a 636 .. but have to say 650 yes that’s what I need for the week and my 600 will be my weekend bike Thank you for being honest 🏍️ great video

    When you say "it doesn't push your butt back" what do you mean? That it's not fun/aggressive on accellaration? I'm looking for my first bike, I like sport-looking bike that I will use as a daily driver so comfort is good, but I want to have fun. With "fun" i don't mean riding 200+ kmh risking death (unlikely with a ninja 650), but a chill fun, like hard accellarating to feel some adrenaline without speeding, a responsible way to have fun

    • @MathewUnderwood

      Hmmm. Well when I had my r6, if you gave it a lot of throttle, it would accelerate so fast that it would literally push you back into the passenger seat behind you. Even if you braced for it. As a beginner, it was way too much for me. I was lucky to not hurt myself. .. the 650 is still very fun but does not pull quite as hard as those. There is a reason they called them crotch rockets, it was literally sitting on a rocket. Lol. Hope that helps. The 650 is still fast and fun

    Matthew what’s up man. Another awesome vid. Definitely gotta give you credit for being encouraging, and giving out solid advice in all your vids. I’m 2 months into riding my ninja 650, and 100% agree…. There’s a lot of ego stuff out there on TH-cam and other platforms about “how to not look like or ride like a new rider”… screw all that lol honestly the only things I really looked up when I first started riding were things like beginner guide to maintenance for my new bike, or what are the signs that motorcyclists use amongst each other lol. Glad to say I feel 100% comfortable on my bike now whether in high traffic areas, the highway, neighborhoods, shopping complexes… whatever. And totally agree, I feel safer on the highways or feeder roads vs not on them. Just fewer things to be mindful of and look out for. You and a couple other people I subscribe to honestly answered my questions and just showed me through your riding styles how to be a better rider myself so big thanks for that! I’ve got 800 miles on my 650 so far and no complaints really other than I may want to get some mirrors that don’t extend outwards as much, possibly getting some slimmer fairings to reduce the weight / width of the bike, and even though I’m still pretty new at all this and definitely need to log some more hours, I do want a faster bike now. I was looking at the ninja zx6r and 10r. Also the gixxer8r. But I love my 650 so damn much. I said I’d give myself 6 moths to a year, then test ride something a little faster and see if it’s what I really want. I love how comfortable, agile, easy to maintain, and cool my 650 looks man, but I can’t lie… that peer pressure along with seeing other people getting up to 140, 160, 180 online or the couple times in person I’ve been able to, kinda put a hook in me lol I can comfortable ride at 120, 125, maneuver properly, and not have any fear, so I’d like to get a bit more speed. That being said… believe me man I know I’m nowhere near ready to take on anything faster than that quite yet with 2 months of riding experience lol. Yet another reason I love my 650… it won’t get me into trouble, it protects me from myself lol. Seriously all around great bike. What about you tho, have you ever ridden any faster sport bikes, or super sport bikes, and how do you feel about them compared to your 650?

      @@manofsteel26 hey bud! Glad to see u again. That's a really thought out comment and I appreciate it. Glad to hear that you are doing well and enjoying your bike!. I am also itching for something a little faster too, but my plan is to wait until I can have both. That way I can go back to the comfort of the 650 when I feel like it. The bike I had before the 650 was a 2004 yamaha r6. It was much much faster! Scared me quite a few times lol. The bikes definitely get faster. I will always encourage you to be safe out there. One thing I've noticed from my r6 was feeling comfortable at higher and higher speeds. It can be exciting, but also dangerous. Dont get tooooo comfortable :) Around where I live, there are a lot of really good roads for riding quicker, but we have a lot of deer and squirrels and such, so I've been scared to really push it. Deer are very hard to see over 60mph lol, especially when you're focusing on corners and stuff. I suppose I would say, definitely enjoy it if you do, just please be safe haha. I'm sure you will be though. Happy to hear from you again!

    I’m going to get my first bike soon! I’m looking to use it to joyride as well as use it to commute to/from work (about a 40ish minute drive one way). I’m considering getting the Ninja 400, Ninja 500, or Versys-X 300. My only concern with the Ninja 400 and Ninja 500 is that in order to leave my house I have to drive on dirt/gravel for about a few hundred yards before I get on paved roads. It may not seem like much, but I’m not sure how the Ninja 400 and 500 handles those types of roads. Which one would you recommend?

To demonstrate it my instructor put me in passanger place and, at around 40km/h put his hands off the handlebar and just gently pushed the left end of handle: bike lean on the left. I've had mine since 2018 and I refuse to part with it! I also own a '23 CBR650 and sometimes ride my son's '24 ZX 4rr. But I love everything about my Ninja 650; comfort, gas mileage, taking off from a stop sign or traffic light...there aren't too many cars that can challenge you unless they paid over $100k for it. But like you, I never liked the sound of the muffler sitting at idle. But open it up and it does have a nice engine sound.( there just aren't many after market pipes that give it a decent sound, so I kept it stock). The reason it sounds like that, is it's a 180 deg crank parallel twin which has a different sound than an R7 or the new Suzuki GSX 8r ( which both have a 270 deg crank and emits a much better sound. V twins also have a better sound such as the Ducatis and MV Agustas or even the Suzuki SV 650. Hold on to your Ninja... there's not another bullet proof, reliable bike out there. Kawasaki has been making that engine for several of their bikes since Fred Flintstone 🦕

    Do you have any piece of advice to help with the fear of dropping the bike while cornering on slow sleep? I'm currently in training, and in 4 classes, I keep on hitting that front break 😢 The bike is a 500cc, if it helps..

    • @MathewUnderwood
      @MathewUnderwood 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@boredsince9150 The best advice that I can think of is from the instructor when I took my classes. They taught us that when it is possible, try to get to your cornering speed before entering the corner. Try not to need to make adjustments to that while in the corner, and that will make you a lot more stable. Of course, that takes practice but the more times you try, the better you get. When you accelerate in a corner, you will straighten out, while breaking in a corner runs the risk of losing traction. That being said, some times it is necessary and you have to be real gentle on those adjustments. Try not to do anything abruptly. Other than that, the best thing you can do is practice and build confidence. And confidence is not the same as ego. People who ride with an ego (over judging their skill or trying to show off or look cool) tend to get injured. :) It also helps to be looking where you intend to go. It is weird, but we all have a tendency to actually go where we look, subconsciously. I'm sorry if it is not the answer you are looking for. But more practice will make you better. Oh and, I know they are not exactly the same, but riding a bicycle helps build the skill of generally being on two wheels. So if you dont have access to the motorcycle for practice, there is nothing wrong with a bicycle. Just know that the weight differences matter. It would just be a tool for getting the feel of moving on 2 wheels.

    Hey dude really good video. Really enjoyed the whole thing. Some really funny one liners in here too. It’s crazy hearing your timeline and thinking what I was doing at that time. Like when you had your accident I remember listening to that video walking to work to get my bike (flat tire) Just crazy how fast time moves and how much different events in such a short time. Ride safe and I’ll see you in the next one.

      @@CityNinja650 Thanks as always bud, I'm real happy to see you still at it. Time sure does fly by on here. In the end, if we dont give up and work around these challenges, only good things come from them. I'd much rather learn these things while I'm still small. P.s. I'm pretty jealous about the demo events your doing. That looks so fun.

      @@MathewUnderwood it’s fun for sure. But sometimes I feel I bit off more then I can chew tbh. I mean the demos are fun and I’m learning a lot. But it’s more content that I still haven’t gotten out. I’m also working with several dealerships which is awesome but again it’s adding unnecessary stress. Idk I hate “complaining” about it because I know there are many vloggers who would love the opportunity. I think my problem is I’m trying to do to much. That can be bad for the algorithm like you mentioned in your video here. Between my vloggs, vloggs about the 650, safety videos, first rides, long distance trips and in depth reviews it seems like I could screw myself more than anything. And if I’m being honest it’s really burning me out lol. But it’s not about me here. I’m very happy to see your still at it dude. Honestly if I didn’t have lucky breaks I probably would have stopped. Just shows your dedication. Also if you ever wanna do a video about stocks go ahead lmao. That’s a pretty cool story

      @@CityNinja650 man... I guess I didnt see it that way but I totally understand what you mean. There was a time I tried to record for multiple ideas on the same ride and never really published any of them. I guess you're right, if you have all this content, it can be overwhelming to process it. Plus then there are deadlines lol... one of my biggest reasons to pursue this is to get rid of deadlines. And I guess that when a demo starts on this day at this time, it could feel more like going to work than having fun. That's an interesting point of view. I still respect the work you've put into it. You may have a big range of content but it is all around the bikes, so I dont think you have to worry too much about that. Sorry you feel burnt out man, I've been there a few times too. All I can think of is just trying to keep it fun. You definitely have my support and many others, we enjoy what you do!

    Thanks for sharing the video! I like what you said about people who get popular for showing what expensive things they already have, versus people trying to get popular by showing what they are working on. I also like what you said about putting the phone down temporarily when commenters are being too negative. Ride on and ride safe! Beautiful Ninja as always.
