I feel like Christian metal, hymns, and even contemporary worship music are part of a balanced worship diet. They emphasize different aspects of God and our relationship with Him.

The one classic Christian Metal band you should listen to should be Stryper! They've been performing live since the early 80's had lull in the 90's Since 2005 they've been producing albums! O5 "Reborn" started them back on the path to Rocking again! Their latest offerings have been phenomenal! Just released "When we were Kings" and a new live acoustic release, "To Hell with the Amps" that is a great live acoustic set!

I'm just trying to learn to be saved so forgive my ignorance please. Judgement is for God , but Judgement seems to be everywhere in this type of video. Not criticism as I'm learning, just questioning.

Oh, sorry, one more fantastic band...Living Sacrifice. Incredible Christian metal band.

Oh, and if you want another great Asian Christian metal band (Indonesian, to be exact), check out the band Kekal.

There are a ton of fantastic Christian metal bands. Some of my favorites are Haste the Day, Slechtvalk, Lengsel, Blindside (not so much metal, but still, amazing heavier band), Oh Sleeper, early Zao (Zao now is not Christian, but their first five or so albums were), Still Remains, Extol, Beloved, As Cities Burn (probably not considered metal?). If you want some entertaining unblack metal (lol), check out Horde. Can't get more Christian than a song called "Invert the Inverted Cross" or "Release and Clothe the Virgin Sacrifice" lol. Good stuff.

Best Christian metal bands: Gospod, Holy Name, Azusa. Holy Name is American, Gospod is Russian, and Azusa is Norwegian (albeit with a Greek singer, but they sing in English). Holy Name got one of the dudes from Korn on one of their tracks.

Not the best worship at all. Read the bible.

Demon Hunter will be my favorite band forever. Been listening since 02 and never looking back

I saw War of Ages live with Demon Hunter over the weekend. Lyrically they are very gospel centered and I love that about them and their sound is powerful and tight! They were awesome and nearly stole the show! Opponent and Impending Doom were also there.

I think it depends on the bands, some metal is very gospel centered while others not so much. I like Wolves At The Gate, For Today, War Of Ages and Demon Hunter.

Mere Christianity is absolutely a godsend. I have been listening to it again for like the 10th time. And I just messaged my pastor and said we should hand out copies at church because it is beautiful and anyone who is even seeking to understand God it would be a great starting off point.

I know I'm being picky but is there a Christian band that's not "core"? Not rock like pillar and skillet, something heavy but with mostly clean vocals.

Great list! You need to check out Pantekrator. More of a black metal missionary group than just a band. Their love for Christ is infectious! Check out their version of "Awesome God". Every song they play glorifies God in every way possible. Either through scripture or life experiences.

I like Disciple. Not as hard but definitely Christ-centered music.

The most Bibical and heaviest band their is.... DIAMONDS TO DUST. Corpus Christi is wild!!!! It even does scripture in Latin too at the final break down.

A Feast For Kings is also a really good Christian metal band. They’ve changed their name since their vocalist died in a construction accident.

@JosiahNordquist I only got about halfway through the video, and mean no disrespect at all. Christian metal bands are my favorite though maybe not your style. I’m citing bands like X-Sinner, Stryper, deliverance, etc. But the content of the songs that you’re citing are more teaching and discipleship than Worship. I consider praise music to be directed towards the Lord, and and would refer to other songs as examples of Worship than the ones that you mention here. That said one of the biggest reasons that I like Christian metal besides, the music itself is that they do sing directly from scripture. It does indeed honor God, but it is directed more towards the audience than towards Him.

One band I would suggest for christian metal fans is Tourniquet. They are definitely more unique and different but very much christ followers

Wolves at the Gate are the greatest band of all time! Steve's lyrics are unreal. Surprised you didn't mention Sleeping Giant. Was it because they're no longer making music? Would be interested in your thoughts on Project 86 - especially with their new double concept album
