Whether in the passenger seat or walking around, come along with me for the ride as I meet people and not only show their cars, but also share their own unique stories. The more we learn about each other, the more we learn about ourselves. I've always been interested in cool and unique cars, but have found myself even more intrigued by the people behind the wheel of these cars. Their stories have plenty of range. From humorous to nostalgic as well as educational, I'm honored to have the opportunity to not only listen to these stories, but to share them as well. I hope that I can help you focus on not only the car but also the people. So sit back and enjoy the ride because you never know what you'll learn when the camera is rolling and the conversations begin to unfold. My intention is for you to be entertained as well as have your eyes opened to things you've never seen nor heard so that you will be inspired to pursue whatever you've been wanting to do, but haven't. What's your story?
Al Coccaro - The GoJak Inventor
If you want to meet the type of person that recognizes a problem and revolutionizes a solution, meet Al Coccaro. The inventor of the GoJak. Celebrating his 40th anniversary of showcasing his products that are used worldwide, Al’s infectious personality takes us back to 1969 as he shares his story as to how he came up with this idea as well as the iconic color of his products. It was so cool to have the opportunity to learn from this gentleman about ingenuity, tenacity, and most of all, gratitude. Made in the USA, in-house manufacturing, if you’ve never used these to move a car around, you need to try it. It’s awesome and a back saver.

The best car for me was the Empi Double Cab!
@@jimmyjames6267 it’s a 68 too. One year only.
Thank you very much Mr. Rick Johnson, for sharing your beautiful car. And of course, thanks to you too Mr. Eddy Collins. What surprised me the most about this car is that during the drive, my hearing noted that it didn't sound like the Beetles that we all know and have been familiar with. An interesting observation, years back I was told by a Volkswagen restorer that the beetles from the 1950s were a much more solid car and had a better build than what would come in the 1960s. Based on my hearing (again) I'd have to say that he was right. I'm not hearing even the slightest rattle in this car. Amazing! I find myself wondering which engine this car has. Would it be an 1100 cc?
@@discerningmind so glad that you were able to hear all of the sound. With regard to the stoutness of these early cars, I believe it was definitely there more so than the later cars. Especially these transmissions. Since they did not have Synkro in them they had to definitely be stronger.
Thanks so much Eddy!! Loved that 914 !! Glad you had fun!🎉
@@toddvanwinkle7777 you bet! So glad everyone has liked it so far.
Hi Eddy, Thank you for taking us to this years' SEMA. What an amazing show and so many cool cars. 👍👍 BTW: The black Porsche 911 Targa Hybrid with the color stripes follows the design scheme of Mr. Rainer Buchmann ("bb" Tuning) who has been a very famous Porsche tuner in the 70's in Germany. As far as I know Mr. Buchmann has re-issued some of his Porsche design ideas and this 911 is one of them. Thank you again for this video.
@@WSBach wow, thank you for that information. That is so cool to know. The colors on this car were really neat. Very vibrant. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I knew that if I went, I would most definitely have to cover the event and share it.
@@EddyCollins-TZN168 It's indeed a fascinating story. Should you like to know more on the 'bb Porsches' and their creator please google 'bb Auto'.

What a terrific VW! I always prefer the Elderly Models. Seems like these features disappeared later during production. Splits, Ovals, & the Big Windows from ‘58-‘64 had more Character than 1968 & newer. Even the ‘65-‘67’s were Awesome. 😎
Yeah, this car seriously has a ton of character. I mean, where are you going to find another one exactly like it. There are definitely some awesome cars out there to be explored. This one just seems to be one of those that “talks to me “

Truly, a sound you can never get tired of.
Interesting to see a SUITCASE behind the seat. I was going to buy a MUCH later one, and that had neither the DEPTH for a real suitcase - and certainly not DISTANCE from the rear seat to the back for THREE suitcases! Something MUST have changed! I think the company must have set the rear seat further back, to give more priority to rear passengers' legroom
Regarding the theory, that the frosted "RIMS" at the top of the headlights may be left over from earlier ones at the factory - YES, that IS right. Volkswagen used to do just that!
Awesome thanks!
My dream car ❤
Nice car, huh? We all want one!
I’m a bus guy, yes, BUT if I got a beetle for me to keep……it’d be a split.
Is that an unconventional CLOCK on this lovely steering wheel?
The super cool “Sun and moon” horn button. That would be cool if you could use it as a sundial.
Who did the work on the sunroof? Did he say “Grumpy”?? I have a three fold WABSTO rag top on a ‘59 SIMCA Aronde that needs some repair.
Yes, he mentioned John at Grumpys’s which is vwsunroofs.com. Cool guys to work with, but heads up, they specialize in Volkswagen sunroofs only.
Hey Eddy ! On Rambus 71.the switch don't stay where it belongs ? It works but I do what you showed I grab the box and use my thumb to turn the stick ? But I am use to it , it has been doing it for the last 35 years , Rambus has around 850,000 miles on it and has had 12 motors 9 sets of ball joints 3 sets of axles and when I tell people it has 850 on it I say on some of the parts!
Wow!!!! That’s incredible. Well, I guess by now you are definitely savvy when it comes to using your turn signals.

That one takes me back to my 1st car. Dad and I built a Manx "style" dune buggy in 1969. It was medium green gel coat. We called it avocado green.
