My first ride out on my CBR, passed my test and came straight home to get out on her, can't believe the time has actually come after waiting 3 months since buying her. #cbr600rr #repsol #bikelife #sportbike
I’m with you mate, the bike has to look right and sound right first and foremost, couldn’t care less about comfort or stats 😂
Babe wake up! New Stu video just dropped!
One good habit worth develping is at, for example, 13:27, when you're stopped behind that truck, position yourself so you can see one of his side mirrors, then you know the driver can see you too. Better than just being hidden behind in a big blind spot. I enjoy watching your videos and listening to the CBR6. Stay safe!
@@PanicInSectorFive yeah another thing I forget to do. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Hi mate, where did you get your mirrors from and what are they called? Also have my mod 2 coming up soon and cannot wait :)
@@VASILLEVSKI1878 hi. Good luck for your mod2. here’s the link to the mirrors. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/285698560796?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=gv1x-7zuqsm&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=iC6G5IpGQyO&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
That driver was def trying to squeeze you out, good move on using the space in the cones i'd of done them same then let him catch up and taunt them for a bit till i show them doesn't really matter how they try to hold you up from filtering you will still get away faster.
@@shutinyanks yeah a bit of a muppet. Don’t like to do moves like that but was best for safety
Good to see you still riding! And good job taking it nice and slow . Better to gain confidence slowly than be a wreckless muppet haha. I just had 2 lessons and im hooked! Cant wait to buy a bike next year and finally be able to ride.
@@photomorti thanks and good luck with the progress
@@RideWithStu Thanks mate you 2!
Bike looks 👌 Nice touch with the LED wing mirrors
Thank you
That R1 sent me :D :D Quite lucky you didn't just go further into the lane otherwise his skin would be right there on the road. Those mirrors look cool but they aren't very functional i'd say get rid of them unless you are adapt at looking back often.
Only thing I see you not doing is checking your blind spots before you make a turn.
its hard to tell on the video but rest assured, shoulder checks are taken
Nice bike. Which year model and exhaust is this?
@@zika196 thank you. It’s a 2016 Honda CBR600RR. It’s got a TOCE exhaust fitted. Had to import from the U.S
congratulations mate enjoy
I never had a car drivers licence. got my motorcycle driver licence at 33yo. Going to buy a sportbike possibly a week from now. Suzuki gsxr 600 K8. I hope i be ok 🤣.
Did they not teach you to stay in the left lane unless passing for your test? Painful to watch
@@bertsimpsan 😂
My first non-restricted bike was a 2007 CBR600RR, I still remember the explosion of pleasure in my brain on my first ride.
@@sparkthego it’s a rush
Drove through Southend Seafront today coming back from belle vue motorcycles honda getting my bike checked over. Suspect indicator switch and heated grips, i did question if my bike was restricted as I'm only getting up to 83 mphs and 5000 rpm when doing an overtake. They said no sign of restricting. I might have to get it looked at with ECU
Haha nice vid mate made me laugh to..i just got a bandit 600 for my first bike love it,i keep look at cbr 600rr tho
Nice video,i started riding again. Bought a Lexmoto Tempest at 60. My the roads have changed !
@@stevieboy4302 good on you and thank you
Great great bikes. Mine had a termignoni exhaust. Wait til you get it up over 10k revs and beyond. At 15 they are insane. Have a Ducati now but that inline 4 scream is ace.
@@davidbird380 they love to scream
Hi man love the videos- if you don't mind me asking what year is the bike?
@@JayckGoebel thanks mate. It’s a 2016
You just gotta love the repsol honda motogp livery 😍❤️🔥

I passed at 52 :) got a Gsxr 600 k5. Definitely wise to take your time at first . A great adventure ahead :)
Went to the bike shed for my birthday this year - used to ride when i lived in aus but havent got a bike here. Good place to go to get my bike fix haha
@@joshlewis7210 well when you get yourself one you’ll have to go back there for some brunch.
Good vid my friend.
You had a little fun but nothing crazy or bad, the undertake from the R1 was dodgy he should have either waited for you to pull into the lane and gone passed or just waited, if you missed that in your mirror and pulled in further or faster that’s both of you down the road. The BMW on an open road is a different story but a town road approaching a junction just let him crack on there is always another day. When recording i would always pick a place to turn the camera on and off not near work or an address the bikes kept at, one for legal purposes and two for thieves. Better to be safe than sorry there are some a$$holes out there!!!!!
@@Flopster2632 yeah all true. Cheers for the advice. Ride safe.
Ferry is normally about £280 with the bike. Cheaper if you do the practice week only as the call it "TT taster week". What dates are you travelling and how long for? Be good to meet up, give you a bit of guidance. That said, you can't really go wrong. Rife safe ☺️
@@mickydebargos oh really. I have booked up to go out on the Saturday when practice week starts until the Wednesday so wonder why ferry is so expensive
@RideWithStu I did Friday before practice this year but only till Thursday of practice week. I paid £140 instead of the £280 I normally pay for 2 weeks.
@@RideWithStu I'm going on the Sunday evening ferry 25th ☺️
@@mickydebargos hopefully see you there
Congrats on the pass and welcome to the club. Nice to see and hear a video of someone being honest for a change. I hadn't ridden a bike for almost 30 years before I bought my current bike so the anticipation and nerves were just the same as yours. Next thing for you is the Isle of Man 😎
@@mickydebargos thanks for your kind comments and glad you enjoyed the vid. Yeah can’t wait for next year
Not the Asian mirrors (I can say that I'm a hobbit)
What happens around 20:15 is why I mentioned the Tripage LED mirrors with built in turn signals. Anything to get attention is good. Proton flushmounts really are the brightest you can get. Have you adjusted the suspension for your weight? Stay safe...
@@jasonleasure3210 yeah I’m gonna add extra turn signals to the mirrors. Will do a vid showing what I’ve done. I reset the suspension to factory settings. Feels ok. Not too fussed about adjusting it to perfection as I’m not doing track days etc
I am 103 I passed my test yesterday, bmw 1000 rr
@@I_am_Bob_Salo 😂
Final message... Enjoy, stay safe. Welcome to the most fun with your clothes on ☺️
My 2p.... Get a clear screen. Not only are coloured screens ugly IMO, but when you tuck down behind it, you'll be able to see through a clear screen.
watch this space
You pass your test, get a 600. Feels crazy fast compared to every car you've ever been in. Then you get a 900-1000cc bike and every vehicle you've ever been in feels like a slug😂
@@gofres I can’t imagine being on something with twice the bhp of mine
@@RideWithStu it's not so much the bit of extra power but the low down torque that pulls hard from low revs.
Congrats on passing the test, I see it's been a few months but I know that feels like yesterday. I had no intention of getting my licence but one day just out of curiosity I checked the price for a theory test and saw that it was only like 20 quid or something so I figured I'll just book it in to see if it's hard, went for the exam expecting to fail and completely opposite of my luck I passed, questions were common sense. Obviously that pushed me to go for my practical. Best decision of my life to check the price of a theory test. lol
@@inline4forlife what a story. Will never regret doing the test.
I got a Hornet 600 with that lump in it. Quick af!

I'm 75 and won a 600RR in March 24. The first time back on a bike in 43 years! So I do understand the feeling of scariness and exhilarating! Love it though, a fantastic adrenalin rush. 👍
@@hargrave2510 massive respect to you for riding one of these 👍🏻
Passed my test on a 700, and a couple of hours later, I was on my 1000. Mines is an almost 20 year old bike. Love the bike, and it's great to ride. Felt really weird in the new riding position for a little while.
@@Reaver-cbr1000rr-fireblade yeah the riding position feels so extreme after passing my test on an upright bike. Funny how quickly you get used to it
Maybe not an ideal first bike but it's very flexible and forgiving. You don't have to wring its neck to get the most out of it but be bloody careful you don't run before you can walk. Crack that throttle open and it will send you to the horizon a lot quicker than you expect. Through a hedge if you're not expecting it. Get more training, join RoSPA or similar. Do a Bikesafe day. Train, train, train.
@@cliveadams7629 am definitely taking my time with it. Learning all the way
@@RideWithStu Definitely make much more progress when you get training, you'll be amazed. It's not like CBT or doing your test. Find the right people and it's fun. Enjoy.

Nice bike, I passed my test few years ago and went straight for 1000rr, btw repsol is best color scheme ever!
@@1000RRJuggernaut lucky you. Was considering the Fire Blade but decided on 600. Maybe next one though. Will take one for a test ride first. Yeah Repsol scheme is so nice 👍🏻
@@RideWithStu it was cheaper at the time then 600 since I'm 6'5 1000rr was my only option, but 600 is still great machine💪🏻
@@RideWithStudon't get yourself killed. As a learner start smaller and build up always. I learned on a 1962 12 hp bike and my first bike was a 98 BMW F650 dualsports 1 cylinder which was 4 times more powerful. 600rr is a bit too much as a newbie. I'm sure you'll be fine but glad I went with a Fazer as my 2nd street bike.
Beautiful bike, I’m very jealous. I’ve had a few cbr1000 Repsol’s, but never the 600. My favorite way to upshift is to bring the RPM to about 5-6k, then push the shifter up with your foot. It will not allow you to shift until you let off the throttle, then it will smoothly shift into place. This is called clutch less shifting, you don’t need to use the clutch lever at all, it’s very safe for your transmission, and I prefer it over a quick shifter. Give it a try. Ride safe out there my friend.
@@onev9064 thank you! Oh I’ll have to give that a try. Might of actually done that by accident tbh 😂
@@RideWithStu no worries, yeah I thought I saw you do it once or twice haha.
600s are where the fun is. I'm selling mine but will always miss the sound and revs.
I’d have just gotten an old sports bike for a couple months if you’d just passed.
That is a lovely sounding bike. I'll never ever forget my first ride on a sportsbike. As an old school rider from the 1970's I've always ridden classic old 70's stuff (CB 750 Four's/Suzuki GT two strokes etc) but in 2006 I bought a 99 carbed R6 and taking it for my first ride blew my mind. If any motorist happened to be looking at me they must have thought I was mental because I was laughing hysterically at what the bike was doing (and capable of doing) ha ha, happy days. The only advice I would ever give to a new rider is to do lots and lots of practice at very slow riding, find a huge empty car park type of space and do hours and hours of walking pace riding with lots of turning and u turns, it makes your bike control feel amazing.
@@martynflynn8368 it’s so satisfying and addictive. Not looking forward to the weather turning crap
