Would love to see a more detailed video on using the external sampler with the variable resistor, how to set the appropriate level on the resistor, etc. It wasn't clear to me if the settings in Thetis need to change using the external sampler also.

Kurt, I have audio from Thetis but no RF out of Hermes...Also I do not have Hermes Lite 2 in the devuce ist of my Thetis...Do I need a different version of Theis?..I only have a listng of "Hermes"...Please help on establishing RF from Hermes Lite 2

I can't thank you enough for the videos. I would have never purchased the Hermes lite 2 without your help. I have gone through the video for the audio setup. I am confused about the difference between the tx gain on the audio tab and the mic slider on the main screen. Joel kn4tc

Is this EQ even phase-linear? Otherwise, it would end up distorting the phase that the phase rotator just corrected. I would set up the audio chain so that Thetis does as little processing as possible, delegating that to external software like Stereotool. It provides multiband compressors, AGCs, downward expanders, and auto EQ, which make everything sound much more natural, even with compression applied.

Why are you using the HF Vox in the larger amp? You could just connect both amps with a Y-cable, right? And what about the band filters in the smaller amp? Do you have to manually switch the bands every time? That seems completely outdated-having to change the bands on both amps every time you switch. Surely, there’s a better product out there that at least offers an interface for this, or at least some kind of serial connection. You could use something like an ESP32 to control it with software, right?

So probably not a good way to try to ask this question, but since you are so experienced with the Hermes 2 and Thetis, I thought I would try to ask. While I am a licensed Ham radio operator (KE0MF) my interest in the Hermes Lite 2 and Thetis is to use them for shortwave listening, as an inexpensive way to get a Thetis compatible SDR platform, since I really love the Thetis NR2 performance. To that end I have a number of questions about the feasibility of the Hermes Lite 2 as a general coverage receiver, as well as questions about Thetis with regards to AM reception. Is there a better platform I could engage with you on to be able to get the benefit of your extensive expertise with this hardware/software combo? When I put the device in transmission mode erratically, I hear the relays switching. There is no pattern and I don't know why it happens. I don't know if something similar has happened to you or if there is some type of configuration that solves the problem. thank you very much for everything

I Love This kind of stuff. I have the HL2 and a GEARONE MV1000 mic with Neodymium Magnetic cartridge `and XENYX802 mic. Preamp. All other processing is done in Thetis thanks to you and your advise with minimal tweaks to customize to my vocal range. Thank you for all you have offered in setting up the HL2. I'm sure you have increased the sales of this incredible SDR Rig and I Hope they take notice. 73 Kurt

S8 of noise, wow, so I don't see the herpes pulling out any signals from the noise! Just wondering why you run the radio rx wide open? Why not get the background noise as low as possible on the radio?
