I emailed Western appliances they said they have LG rvrx208mc 20.8 cu.ft model which is a water line hookup model. They have 2 in stock. I am in the USA and can not go to see if it is the right model you are looking for.
I am looking for the same type of refrigerator for the house I will be building so if you find one can you let me know.
I called them but they did not answer
Excellent progress
Thanks!
Is the skimcoat just drywall mud or is it a thick paint I can still see a lot of cracks. I think you will need 2 or 3 coats.
It's called ultra fino skimcoat. The brand is Bostik. They are doing a great job.
I see they are using it on the back deck is it exterior rated.
@@MariaHoffertfor direct rain we are using liquid tile.
How good is well water there? There is no municipal water service in that area?
Very nice place, what part of the Philippines is this?
Nice house but since Foreigners can not own property in The Philippines, how are you protecting your investment there?
Yes my pi dream person has a good insulated roof that has survived for more than 5 years. You could simply watch a vlog of his and ask the brand and he will respond ( make sure the video is his latest… ) Thanks Mark Read
Thanks
How much is this costing?
The build should come in around 12 million php plus the cost of the land. Thanks
I asked SM appliances why they do not sell refrigerators with water line hookups they said it is because houses in the Phillippines do not have dedicated water lines in the houses and bottled water is cheap. I said you do not need a dedicated water line you can run a water line from the kitchen sink water pipe. With one million us citizens retiring in the Phillippines by 2026 and 25% building new houses you may want to think about selling thems. They did said they will see if they can do special orders if someone wants one. Are you going to put lights in your closet’s?.
Thanks for the update. As for lights in the closets, no there will not be lights. I never had an issue not having lights in there. The lights in the room light the closet enough.
Nice house it looks like American design
Thank you.
Are those expansion joints?
They are control joints. There is no expansion material in them. Used to control any cracks that may occur. Thanks.
Hi Guys Your concrete garage floor has a very nice finnish, it maybe the best in Philippines. Your power boxes seem very huge to me I'm sure it's all required. Great house guys. With the roof in the Philippines the contractor's seem to fail to bend the roofing up under the flashings for me its a mistake. And the flashing needs a little air space to keep to dry reduces corrosion.
Thank you. The guys are doing a great job for sure.
On the skimcoat just be aware that there is interior and exterior skimcoat, i had?a situation where the used interior on the exterior and you can imagine it didn't go well😂
Cool. Thanks.
I don't know why but the rendering they do here they never manage to go all the way below the soil level 😂, personally i make them dig down below the ground level, they complain but for me its all about water and stopping ants ect getting in the cracks and coming in the house between the floors and walls, which does happen 😂
Agreed
Termite spray for a solid concrete floor????🤔
Yes, the termites and ants find their way under the concrete slab and find small holoes where the slab meets the wall and into the house. My rental I am in now has that issue.
That’s good info. I plan my next place to have a similar roof. I will be mindful of the possible leaks. Watching from Canada. But I am already slowly building my house in Mindanao.
Thanks. Good luck with your build.
Oh you’re putting in a midwestern style hot water heater! Old Skool. I like it.
No, I did think about that though. Each room that has got water will have its own water heater. Thanks.
SM appliance’s has a refrigerator with a autofill ice maker 23.2cu but you will need to go to Manila to get it.
Thanks. They have them here also in Sorsogon. The problem is no water hookup. These have a bin that need to be filled and are stored in the refrigerator area.
RVS-X238MC 23.8 cu ft LG side by side inverter ref. Says it is an automatic ice maker if you go to the spec’s. It has a photo of the back and shows a water line hookup valve. I do not know how to add a photo to the comment.
@@MariaHoffertthanks. I don't think it allows attachments here. That is one of the refrigerators I was looking at. If you look at the picture with the doors open, it shows a water bin that supplies the water. I don't think the blue plastic on the back is a water supply, but just a valve. I will check again though. We called LG to see if that piece could be changed out for one with a water hookup, but they wouldn't tell us. Anyway, thanks again and I will verify one last time.
I worked in insurance and having an ice maker is an eventual water claim waiting to happen. We don’t do a fridge with external ice maker water dispenser set up Just my 1 peso
@@markeuringer8106thanks
Yes, I also find someone else doing things makes it look really easy, till I do it then it gets harder. Thank you both for your video, Thank you Sella for your efforts, too. Please, talk more, you have a nice voice.
Thanks
Thank you
Looking great! Looks like it's a big house. For privacy and security, it would be best to install at least a 6-foot-high hollow block fence with barbed wires around on top of it.
The fence will be 2.1 meters tall and have broken glass. Thanks.
Nice
Thank you.
Looks great! Will. You have to install bars on your windows. Sad to see so many builds here with bars on the windows. Thanks for sharing.
With concrete walls and metal roof, will you have issues with cell service?
No bars on the windows. I don't like the look. Just be protected. I'll leave it at that.
I did not notice any drains for the AC units. Will they have small pumps for the condensed water or will they drain out with PVC?
The drain tubes are in the wall and will gravity feed to the drains. Thanks.
Looking great
Thanks
Why so many cameras? If someone will break in they will already have what they want. I would think just a security alarm would be better. If your away from the home what can you do anyways. The place is looking good. Thanks for update on roofing. I would only use the type of roof that My Philippine dream used on his house. You will get it all worked out im sure. From my years past building in the Philippines I really prefer solid pour concrete. I built a few homes when i was there and used different styles of building. I even created fireproof blocks for one home project in Cebu. That was a three level place, and came out nice. Those blocks were fireproof and had a great R value to keep the home cool, no aircon needed. The building in the Philippines has greatly increased by x pats. God bless i
Ya we have camera here in our home and sure we saw people breaking into our cars outside but they wore hoodies and masks so didn’t help at all. Thieves will figure out how to get around cameras. They do give you peace of mind thats about it.
I am not an expert on this but from other expats and from our home in Iloilo the termites are an issue. Did the builder think it’s ok to use wood frames on the doorways.
Thanks
@@alnascar97thanks
@@alnascar97I am the builder. All the wood used is hard wood. The ground under the floors was pretreated with termite control. Thanks.
Hello, my wife just came across your guy's channel and told me about it. We are FilAm couple as well and we are also started builing a farm in Sorsogon, Castille and thought I would reach out to exchange ideas and information. Looks like you guys are almost finished, nice house!
So you guys live around the big crab then? Good luck with your build.
Why do you need a vapor barrier in a tropical climate?
To keep the moisture and pests out.
Nice house! May I ask how many square meters?
Thank you. The total build is 440sqm.
What “general area” of the Philippines is this. My wife and I are starting our plans of buying land and building a home. Either Mindanao near CDO or Cebu. Currently we have remodeled and live in her family home until I retire and have more time to properly manage a major project
We are in Luzon. Sorsogon, Bicol. Good luck.
@ thanks for sharing We look forward to seeing how your project develops and of course the beautiful home that you will have.
@@hardmtnbikerthank you.
Great progress.
Thank you
I hope you are using termite resistant door frames or treated with termite chemicals. Don't forget the same applies for your doors.
The wood is a hard wood. The floors were sprayed for termites under the vapor barrier of the floors. The wood is also treated for termites. Shouldn't be an issue. We shall see though.
This house looks epic. Great design. High ceilings and over-sized porch separates this build from the average new build. Making things over-sized is the way to go.
Thanks man. I really appreciate it.
Hi Kev and Sella. Man, you guys are funny couple. Sella really don't like getting in front of the camera (camera shy) and I can relate to that as well. Kev, the home is really coming along and looking great. I feel for you with the leaks on the patio ceiling but hopefully they can catch them and really seal them in good so no more leaks ever. Looking forward to the barracks coming down so you can have the electric ran to hook up to the home. I'm really impressed with the continued progress and the detailed work the workers are doing. I'm praying that when we start building, I can have the same skilled professional laborers working on our home. Well take care and happy to see you and the family are doing well for the New Year. God Blessings to the family my friend. Take care.
Thanks Kenny. God bless I hope the best for your build and family.
What does "acrost" refer to? I keep hearing you use this phrase? I think you mean "across"
My Midwest US accent I guess.
OMG hottie at 5:42 🔥
🤣
Hi Kevin you can delete this message if you want but I just want to ask your subscribers if you know of any land for sale in the Tarlac city area or subic Bay Area can you let me know . Thank you
Good luck with your search
Omg we have that same ceiling fan. 😅 I have to warn you it rusts. We have it inside our house in Cavite, and the blades are starting to rust only 3 months later. You might want to repaint them for outside use.
That's not good at all.
Thanks for the heads up
@KevinParent248 Not a problem. I'm probably going to pull mine down and repaint it with rustoleum or some spray paint after Sanding. I was shocked it was rusting since it's never off.
❤❤❤looking better
Thanks brother.
Are you going to electrically interconnect your smoke detectors or just batteries
Right now batteries. Good point though.
Battery smoke detector are ok they have 10 year batteries now but you want to interconnect them so if you have a electrical fire in the generator or water room you will hear it in the bedroom at nighttime
@@MariaHoffertthanks for the idea.
Well, more progress. Looking better all the time. Thank you both for your update.
Thank you.
How is your neighbors house build coming along
Hi STELLA😅good job
😅
Hi Sella and Kev. First let me say that Sella, your English is ok in the video. I could understand you well. Kev, you are the first person I have seen in the Philippines on TH-cam to install a submersible pump sensor shutoff switch in their water well. That is a great idea my friend and I will definitely put one on our submersible water pump when we install it at our home. That will save so much money and time and maintenance with replacing the water pump due to it burning up with no water being pump. Very nice idea buddy. Home update is looking great as well. Hope that you guys have a wonderful celebration for Christmas. Take care and God Blessings to the family.
Thank you 😊
We are so glad we can share our experience!
Merry Christmas 🎄 and Happy Holidays Kevin and Sella 🎁 Continued good luck on the home build. It’s looking great! 👍
Happy holidays!
Thanks, you too!

Hey Kevin! I love watching your videos especially about your house. My wife and I just bought some land and we’re getting ready to build. Your videos have been very informative. I’m wondering what is your living square footage or square meters and if you don’t mind sharing what was your total cost?
Thank you. The house is roughly 220 sqm. The cost should come in around 12 million.
Thank you for your efforts to also talk, explain things to me (& others) I appreciate your very nice presentations of your (both) building process. Thank you both.
Thank you😊
Appreciate it.
Great job Stella. I’ve always wanted to see inside of the barracks. Have a safe and happy holiday.
Thanks you😊
