I don't see how these would help much performance. Most of those settings seem to have like no or negligible effect on performance. The only exceptions being PiP, shadow draw distance, and object draw distance after a certain point. I usually play on 4k max, or near max, settings, and rarely drop under 60, but when I do, I DO. I van drop res or settings, and it doesn't matter. When it goes sub 60, there's no raising it outside just moving elsewhere or stopping what you're doing.

2:50 The zooming is more realistic than not. In any FPS you have to balance FOV and visibility. We play with higher FOV's so we can see more in our immediate surrounding and require the zoom to bring it back to a more natural FOV at range.

how has nobody made a mod altering the AI process? its literally what kills the CPU, other than multiplayer instructions on 100+ slot servers. removing a few triangles and instances of rendering will not solve your toaster, nor the spread that is arma 3. you want my advice? learn to play a lower framerate. i get into KOTH with 120 or more players? fps locked to 30. its far smoother than watching your fps dip from 30-XXX whenever the frustrum clears of bloat.

went from 60 to 211

Managed to get my Arma 3 to play around 40-50 fps finally. For some reason I expected it to be much higher as I am running a Ryzen 5 5600 with a Nvidia RTX 3070ti

hey I actually saw your server while looking for units was wondering if I could join I don't talk much, was just hoping to find some servers that make arma 3 fun instead of, 3 or 4 servers that might have a few people in them

When I hit the play button it says "Profile *name* server launched! Command line copied to clipboard." But the actual arma 3 server doesn't launch at all. I can manual launch the arma 3 server, but it doesn't seem to have the config from FASTER. I really don't know what i'm missing, theyre in their own folder, faster is in the directory with the folder that arma 3's server is contained within, all just sitting in a folder on my desktop.

If you are playing JSOC servers, large online servers - just be aware this will make barely and difference - got nothing to do with your side. This is for single player - big disclaimer you should have mentioned. For example, the biggest killer of all is view distances. On a busy server, I can go from 1km, to 10km view distance and the FPS difference is 1-3 FPS on a 4070ti.

You should NEVER compare crap like Battlefield and Call of Duty with the powerful ARMA III, which is actually a realistic and modular military sandbox

Earlier in the video, for the game launch parameters, there is a section to select CPU count. I saw another arma 3 performance optimisation video on youtube that referenced this video, and the top voted comment explains that for this setting we should set it to the number of total logical processors, not the number of physical core processors, as apparently arma3 checks and uses logical processors for this. So if I have an 8 physical core CPU I actually have 16 logical processors, and I should change this CPU count launch parameter to that number. People can verify their number of logical processors by opening task manager>performance tab>check CPU info. However later on in the video you recommend turning off CPU 0 for running the arma_64.exe process with process lasso. That would bring down the available logical processors number by 1, down to 15 in my case. Should I leave it set to 16 in the launch parameter or change it to 15 if I am going to turn off CPU0? Thanks for the great optimisation video by the way.

I applied the view distance mod and Only go to about 60fps. Single player laws of war. I have Ryzen 9 3900x. Rx6800xt, 32gig ram .m.2. At the same time that i applied the previous steps combined. Why do u think i dont go above 60fps?

I was literally thinking of getting into ARMA and I thank you for the push to do so.

I listened to this on half speed while I was doing the changes to the game. and at 1:50 it sounded like Mr Plinketts son really wanted to tell me about the post processing tweaks, but then lost confidence and told me it didn't matter.

95% of these mods have very poor quality of code / config, issues, performance loss and not obvious (hidden) game breaking bugs. Keep it in mind when you mod your game. If you can't understand and analyze what exactly the mod does with the game, be prepared for the problems caused by the "ArmA magic".
