Nice video. I wear my glasses normally but I use to do paintballing and photography so I would wear contacts those times. Now I ride and I only wear my contacts. I am 44 and I am at the point I am corrected to see far, but when I try to read small writing I need to add light and hold it a certain way to read it. So I think I am at the same point as you. I go for a check up this summer so I will talk to my Dr about it. I like the little rambles sometimes. Makes me feel better on the tries of vlogging I did last summer and deleted duerr to much off topic talk hahaha.
lol Too funny! I didn’t set out to talk about contacts, but after I addressed the insoles in about 2 minutes I figured why the hell not! 😂😂 Still not happy with the contacts - I’m on my 3rd trial version, so they definitely take more effort to laser in on the right prescription than regular lenses. I’m way too reliant on my sun visors to wear glasses, so patience is a virtue! ✌️
@@DMVSoloRider Ya I just don't want my frames in my view. That is the main reason I wear Contacts only, plus I do not want the hot spots by my temples to wear glasses. As it is right now I have to wear a specific brand of contact as it is the only one that sits on my eyes properly. So I am scared on how many times I will trial different pairs for progressive contacts. Yikes lol
It does suck and gets even worse. I’m 11 years ahead of you. I’ve been wearing contacts since 16 years old. I’ve tried a lot of new lenses including multi-focal. I can walk around the house fine with glasses but really need my contacts when I drive/ride.
It’s so unfair! Lol I can wear nothing and be fine sitting in front of my computer/looking at my phone. But it’s a suicide mission doing that and trying to avoid pieces of truck tire in the road when I’m riding! Still, small price to pay to ride fast! ✌️
Haha I suppose you’re only as old as you feel, but when I’m talking about multifocal contacts I feel Father time creeping up on me! 😂 I have the entire Hotwired heated set up - they plug into the pants. I just hadn’t tried the inner soles and wanted to share my thoughts. I’m hopelessly addicted to heated gear after just one winter!!!
@@DMVSoloRider very cool. I used Gerbing, if you haven’t seen it yet check out my last video for a super clean install and way to plug in your heated gear. It’s Gerbing but assume it works for Hotwire.
At 48 you are not old. I remember just a day or two after turning 40, I noticed that suddenly I was having problems reading toll tickets and maps. Now I have always been blessed with phenomenal long range vision, like 20/10 or 20/15, and have worn glasses or contacts since my teens. I ended up with progressive lenses and at 67 am still corrected to the same. However, riding a motorcycle is a different animal. Contact lenses would help a lot with peripheral vision issues and glasses fogging in cold weather, but cost and exposure to dust could be a downside. A bigger issue as you progress toward your "Golden Years" is going to be bladder control and hydration management. Sometimes it really pisses me of that I have a 250 mile fuel tank and at most a 70 mile bladder! Your day is coming in that regard and I will look with anticipation for a review on catheters and adult diapers best suited to motorcycle touring. Keep 2 wheels down and your pants dry. Love your videos!🤣
That’s hilarious! 😂😂😂 I’m still acclimating to the contacts and new glasses. Contacts are working ok, but the glasses are a nightmare. As for bladder control, I will 🙏 that doesn’t hit me for as long as possible! Lol Doesn’t Harley make Depends for bikers yet? Like, black with metal studs on them? Some fringe?! Welcome to the geriatric motorcycle club. We need a patch for sure! 😂
OHHHHH the joys of getting older!! 🤣🤣

@@DMVSoloRider Need a metal cane yet ??
@@PSPTommyG It’s on the list! Hahaha
Its a pity they haven't designed varifocal contact lenses, now they would be a god send for us in the 60/70 age range.
Well, before you know it we’ll just be buying new eyeballs entirely! 😂

Wait, 48 is old? Pffff 😂 great video. So if you Only have the boot liners, how do they plug in to the bike or battery?
