      Thank you! Really happy I expanded it last year when I did. The backdrops were a huge help, too. Made it easier to stay focused on the course and not the stuff in the background.🖖😎

    Patagonia tires are my favorites. They hook up really well. Thanks for the video.

      One thing I never did before was vent the tires. These are so soft now, there's no way they don't grab on. I was always back and forth with them for as long as I've had the two sets I have but now I love them on this thing. Perfect set up for it. Thanks for watching!🖖😎

      I've been shooting wide angle these last couple of videos, too. Give the course more perspective and reveals how big it is. It covers 4'x6'+ and it's about 2' tall on both ends. I was thinking recently I'd like to change it up again. Winter is coming so I'll leave that for another day. Makes for good content! ;)
      Lights were a PITA. I did two separate tabs underneath the hood. Soup can lid pieces - all black to one - red to the other. They make contact with the magnets when closed so there's no wiring between the body and chassis. Pretty nice when it comes to working it.

    Awesomeness. Rig looks cool and crawls like a beast. Almost time for me to upgrade links and shocks.

      Yeah, the thing does much better on a more breakover friendly chassis. Cleaned up underneath a lot. Yes, links and shocks will made a huge difference for you. Especially links.

    Had the Patagonias on my 1:1 took them off to drop it some for work but they stare at me sometime begging to go back on went to some wild peaks which I def like too…if I ever do a build of it I’d have to get these…if I ever saw a good cat eyes Chevy 2500 4 door body I’d be starred o. It!

      I've had two sets of Patagonias for about 4 years. I go in and out with liking them. I struggled with them on Vermont rock but they seem to stick right to this sandstone. Plus I vented the tires, too. And on soft foams, they grapple like the real thing. So much better now.
      I'd check on Etsy for one. I'm pretty sure I've seen crew cab Chevy trucks getting built on the scx24 platform. You could probably get one onto a Gladiator length setup. Might be enough room for the doors.

    Been great watching the updates on your IR60. Can you refresh my memory on what wheelbase/links you are running?

    • @VermontScaleCustoms
      @VermontScaleCustoms  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks! Glad people are picking up on some info.
      Wheelbase is 140mm overall.
      Front links are 50mm high clearance lowers
      JLU yoke on top that's bent to give the front axle some rear caster/ clock.
      Rear lowers are a set of 69mm with double bends down to 63mm Center to Center
      Rear Uppers are 61.5 double bent down to roughly 56mm
      I think this called for a 135mm wheel base and I didn't like it. It was having trouble with every breakover and just standing up on it's rear end. So the best thing to do was stretch it but I didn't want a full 1CM added. Grabbed some old links and a couple sets of pliers and matched the bends. It really helps get everything out of the way underneath, too. Driveshaft hits long before links do on breakovers.
      Hope that helps!

      @VermontScaleCustoms totally helps! Appreciate the detail. I'm one to tinker with links also. I am currently building up an IR60 and was hoping to push it a little past 135 also. So all your info is very helpful.

    • @erikdukes6815
      @erikdukes6815 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @VermontScaleCustoms and of course try to work with high clearance links when warranted. Sometimes I'm a "link bending machine". Other times I'm not. Ha ha!

      @VermontScaleCustoms also- would be cool to see an up close look at the bent yoke link. Really cool you are using a bent yoke to achieve caster.
