Jolana Kolor
Jolana is a guitar company from former Czechoslovakia, and the Kolor model was released in 1973. It's a fully hollowbody, bolt-on neck construction guitar with two single coils which you select with an 4 way switch. The pickups are surprisingly hot, sitting above a strat pickup and below a P90. The guitar is finished in Czechoslovakian Blue. Jolana is in the same camp of manufacturers as the catalog guitars of the 50's and 60's in the USA, making only cheaper guitars suited for students, not for pros. Of course, these guitars have gained quite a cult following in the last decade. Jolana alongside Muzička Naklada, Melodija Mengeš, Hofner and many others, was the representative of the same circle of budget manufacturers that were growing in the USA at the same time, only it was happening in Europe. Many people that were growing up in the 50's and 60's had started out on one of those guitars and fondly remember them as their first "real" instrument. The guitar sounds awesome, looks awesome and is an important part of European music history.

Listening to the basic sound structure of the intro riff, I dialed the Master Volume half way up and minimized the Preamp Volume (following the rumors that state John was plugged straight into the mixing board) to the point where the bass and treble aren't effected. The "warmth" factor of the DD-2 and DD-3 make them the most unique delay pedals along with their versatility. While their enclosures are white, they'll always be the gold standard for my playing! The DM-2 is a close second but still a pretty good separation as far as the flexibilities of the DD-2 and 3. You can have all the "boutique" pedals you desire but give me a DD-2 and or 3 and I'll make magic happen!

Just because I see the question in the comments a lot...the glitch loop trick is a feature unique to the dd3 and won’t work with the other ones in the series afaik.

Heyy, how much did you turn the reverb please ?
You don't need reverb to achieve John's tone. The most important thing to note is that John's clean channel is still very dirty which can be achieved with an overdrive pedal with built in compression like the Marshall Jackhammer. Or you can do it at the amp if you have one that will do this. The great thing about that pedal is that it will also tame the DS-2 distiortion pedal which should be turned up to max level.
