  • Located 25 minutes from Redmond Oregon and 45 minutes from Bend Oregon is the beautiful Steelhead Falls Trail! This hike is labeled as moderate. To just hike to the waterfall and back it's 1 mile round-trip. To do the longer AllTrails version of this hike, it's 2 miles round-trip and 200 feet of elevation gain. This hike takes you down into a beautiful canyon and along the Deschutes River. You reach a pretty spectacular 20-foot waterfall. If you continue further, the hike stays beautiful! I filmed this during golden hour and it made the hike even more magical!

I love all waterfalls, but these wide river falls are a favorite…certainly plenty to enjoy in OR! Thanks for highlighting this beautiful area. Take care always 😊

I can see why you called it the golden hour with the sun still shining on the canyon as it sets giving that golden hue to the walls and that was a cool waterfalls to hike to, another great hiking adventure 👍

Yeah, you definitely gotta love hiking during Golden Hour! It did make the canyon light up really nice. The river and the tranquillity were awesome as well! Thanks, Craig! Till the time, my friend!

Looks like a very peaceful trail. The falls and small, but full - so that was nice to see. Yeah, it got dark fast. Glad you made the smart choice of turning around.

Yeah, it's definitely a very peaceful tranquil trail. The water flow was good, and so was the scenery. Thank you so much, josh!

Looks very beautiful! Where do you usually stay when you travel? Do you stay at campgrounds, hotels, or air bnb?

Thank you so much! I always stay in hotels. It's not the most affordable way to do it, but it's the most comfortable.

Loved the falls and nice easy walk in but not keen in the signs for rattlesnakes mind - yikes! Was that the reason you were walking later in the day, due to the cooler weather? Cheers Alan

Yeah, it was a beautiful little peaceful hike for sure! Very calming with the water sounds! No, the reason I hiked there so late in the day was because I had already had a full day of hiking, and I wanted to get one more in! That had nothing to do with the snakes. Thanks, Alan!
