Artisans - Antonio SuÃĄrez y Manuel MartÃnez (Wood)
Antonio SuÃĄrez Fuertes (1963), Manuel MartÃnez GarcÃa (1967). This intergenerational group have in common their love for their village, Llamas de la Ribera in the province of LeÃģn, and its traditions. They belong to the Cultural Association of Guirrios and Madamas (GUIMA) which is dedicated to the recovery, conservation and dissemination of the rich heritage and culture of the municipality of Llamas de la Ribera. For them, making their âmazcarasâ is something natural that gives continuity to the whole community because it is represented in their Antruejo. They assume that in the village there are expert mask makers who have collected the knowledge of their ancestors, but everyone can help because everyone participates.
