Videos like this--and, even better, attending concerts in person--show that beautiful music is very much a visual experience as well as an audible one.
I feel sorry for Ashkenazy. he came second in 1955
Aaaaahhhhhhaaaahhh...😊🤩😊 bravissima.. simpaticissima..spiritosa.. bellissima...👏👏💐👏👏🥇🥇🤩❤🌹🌹🌹🌹
kong xiangdong’s is ledendary imo
langlang was just 20 th, iT was amazing
This concerto sounds like Shostakovich concerto
Best
Rach #3 absolutely kills me!
No one gets to me like Yuja I absolutely adore Her 💘💘💘💘❤️
Its interesting how seong jin cho holds down the neighboring two keys to avoid accidentally hitting them, very smart
Oh I just noticed Dang Thai Son does the same thing, so ig he was first
There's a Deutsche Gramophon album called 'Horowitz at home' where he plays the most delicious rendition of this piece I've ever heard, similar to this one but with better sound quality. The left hand at the end is just amazing.
This and Rachmaninov 3, which is harder? I cannot tell. Both are ridiculously hard.
Premiere in Berlin with Furtwängler and Prokofiev himself on the piano
Vestard Shimkus could be a great Liszt in a movie
TW BLood
STRA TOP NR 1 .....troppo tutto!!!
Once upon a time, these theatrics at the piano were a no- no and rightly assumed the people listen with their ears, not their eyes.. Nowadays, what you see during piano performances is often ridiculous.
It would be fun to watch the runners-up. Moreira Lima, Ashkenazy, Małcużyński, Tamarkina...
David Fray the Best
Wang and Kocsis
Has Yuja performed or recorded Op 53 in A flat major? Can't find it.
Van rachs!
Boy, I bet she could play "Great Balls of Fire" almost as good as The Killer himself.
Bruce liu wins but he don't deserves the 1st place. This price was for Kyohei Sorita
not sure for both of them either, perhaps both of them deserved 2nd
For me Hayato Sumino was the most interesting.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The great musicians of the past NEVER made these stupid facial expressions!
Its obvious that Yuja enjoys and loves playing the music
Grandi pianisti....Volodos immenso.
can we get a non asian next time?
Why next ? There are many of them playing now.
No
She's year 100 of simply piano
I watch this constantly. It's so perfect and conplex.
9:42 I just heard this live and it was beautiful
This is wonderful to watch and introduces me to so many players I hadn’t known about - fantastic upload, ty
This is a SIMPLY PIANO ADD
Horowitz
I love Yuja!
Bartok 2 is far, far more difficult than Rach 3. The great Bartok pianist Annie Fischer told a pianist friend that she started to learn it - a page a day - and then gave up. The sound in this recording is not always clear - you can't hear the individual groups - the orchestra often sounds just dissonant coz you can't hear the counterpoint. It's a great work. a superb performance.
Yujia rocks ❤!
Such amazing music from such a beautifull and very talented lady
Interesting how technique never seems to be an issue on the respective level she is at. She's always 100% focused and, as it seems, on making music only, not on hitting the right notes. Well, except the Mendelssohn, which, by the way, in the meantime she can play so well, that she comes very close to delivering reference recordings. The tender, pearly little scales at the end of the Chopin nocturne, at age 7?? Pretty unique. I like the way you put her age in years and months! Her progress must have been so rapid that this seems absolutely relevant. She must have been quite a challenge for her teachers, half the time they must have been more in master-class mode rather than everyday teaching. What a miracle she is!
Lilya Zilberstein was playing ( obviously) at Teatro alla Scala, Milano.
Cliburn is hands down the best, the best rach3, the coda sealed the deal with me, it is legendary, the orchestra the last sound.... Uffffff i listen to it all day like a maniac, also have insane ideas in my head to find and kill the guy who coughed 10times on the recording available in Spotify, idk i get strong emotions with this peace especially with cliburn l, brofman, lim, horowitz
Cliburn best
