I am going to get a cheap mat to try this on my diode laser, if it doesn't work I have a mat to put outside one of the bunny rooms. Your UK supplier link isn't working at the time I write this comment so you might want to check that.
Hopefully it should work with a diode but may need to run a few passes to get a good, dark burn. Be careful too as running slow and at high power can cause the mats to smoke and sometimes even catch fire. Thanks for the heads up for the link too, it’s changed now. Think there was a problem with their .Co.uk domain 👍🏻
Hi Marc, I moved my co2 Laser fro the garage to basement. I had to turn the machine, to pass through the doors. Now, everything works as usual, but the laser beam is not working anymore. Do you have an idea? Is there a tip protection or something like that?
@suplex3987 with the machine powered off, double check the wiring to the tube. There’s a chance it may of come loose. Be careful to leave the machine off for a little bit before touching the wire to the tube though as the capacitors can hold a lot of charge
@suplex3987 I’m going to assume, since it was still sending some sort of charge through the wire to give you a shock, the power supply is still working fine. It could just be the tube has gone. Try removing the wire completely and re-connect and see if it helps. If not I’d assume it is the tube. Could even get a multimeter to test to make sure there is power going to the tube
How long does the engraving stay in tack. I’ve been told it brushes off rather quickly because it is jut burnt fibers on the end.
You can preserve it if you spray a clear lacquer over the top of it if it’s going to be kept outside 👍🏻

Does the beam still light up when you runs a test pulse?
@@MARCAM no... nothing...

@@MARCAM I checked the wire, it was almost off...(yes, I got a little electric shock) and I have soldered it...but still no sign of life...

The VITAL flaw in your logic is that you then have to sell 80 doormats a day. Good luck with that.
Selling the mats is the easiest part of the process. In fact, these things sell themselves.
