Guitarist Shoulder Tension
If you are having any issues with shoulder tension or not this is worth checking out in your playing. Tension is so sneaky and creeps in when our attention is elsewhere, then it builds until it becomes a problem. Best to keep it from developing in the first place, but if you are suffering, this may be a helpful method for you to try.

I have a mid 80's Hohner Steinberger. I refretted it back then. Pulled the rubbish pickups and replaved them with a Seymour Jeff Beck in the bridge and a Pearly Gates in the neck. Curious to play the Spirit. it seems better. Wish they'd make a premium carbon one again.

Its so weird. I am away from home at the moment, and have taken this cheap little guitar with me, and it plays just as well as my 'main' guitars at home, which are at least 5X the price. I honestly think if more people could see past name recognition they could grab some real bargains. Lets not forget Gibson couldn't give Les Pauls away before Appetite For Destruction caught (I saw them for utter buttons in pawn shops in New York). Try and buy a late 80s Les Paul now!!!

I have had such terrible luck with these mixers (T4s) and have sent 3 of them back. No one can figure our what is going on with the Channel 2 crackling/static and low end hum. There could be nothing plugged into the input and the Global Preferences will show Channel 2 receiving and sending a signal. The signal becomes exponentially worse when the Phantom Power button is pressed. I've sent 3 back to Sweetwater with the same issue... then waited a couple months and tried again. This one is doing the same thing. Have you ever heard of anyone experiencing this, or better yet, know how to fix it?

I tried a Pro 16 at home and had similar concerns over the stability, although I was willing to overlook that because I’m disabled and need easy setup… I heard no whistle, but decided I wanted/needed stereo sound. I took it back and checked out a pair of Pro 8s, these seemed much more stable and sounded great as a stereo pair, so I bought them. No regrets, they’re nice and light, easy to carry and set up and they have filled every venue with decent sound so far. I’ve had plenty of positive comments on the sound… oh and no whistles either. I’m glad I returned the Pro 16 for the pair of Pro 8s

Have had a Bose L1 Pro 16 for almost 2 years and haven't had ANY of these problems and/or concerns. Never once has anyone toppled the array over and a few times a drunk female or two latched on to it as if it were a stripper pole, but no toppling. I've done events as small as a backyard wedding on up to a banquet hall seating 3-400 people and NOT ONCE, has the system given me any of these problems. No distortion, no clipping, none of that. I will agree that yes, Bose should provide some additional stability for the tower, but other than that, it's a kick ass unit and it's paid for itself 20 times over since I've had it. I don't even bother going to my storage unit to pull out my subs and passives. To each his own, but I like the L1 Pro and it's become the workhorse of my company. I plan to add a second to our inventory and get rid of our big, bulky, backbreaking units. Work smarter, not harder.

I used the older T1 on many hundreds of gigs in the hot 100 degree F weather for 4 hours at a time and NEVER had any kind of failure. Its sad that it seems theres an issue with the T4, I was planning on buying one. Further, after my warranty was way way out on my Bose L1M2 pa system I hooked up to some bad power at a gig and fried every single piece of gear in the pa....the power stand the passive subs, the pole sections and the T1 mixer. I contacted Bose and told them straight away that I was out of warranty and explained what happened. They sent me a complete new unit that instant and told me when it arrived to pack the old unit in the boxes and sent it back to them. They charged me less than $400. total to replace the entire system and sent it to me the same day.....i was completely just blown away at that level of customer care. I am sad to hear of your experience with them and wonder if things have changed with Bose for the worse because your experience sounds like the polar opposite of the one I had.

    • @BillyBlaze7
      @BillyBlaze7 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

if you can, get your hands on the older T1 mixer and the L1 model 2 pa system, I owned two of them and worked the absolute hell out of them in the hot Texas sun and they were bomb proof and sounded absolutely incredible. I used mine routinely in 115 degree F heat with no issue, the caveat is you must have good clean power. I would rec a Tripplite LCR2400 line conditioner as its brown outs that usually take out pro audio equipment and no other manufacturer makes gear that protects against brownouts other than Tripplite. I lost 8500. in gear from brownouts til i figured all this out, The stuff aimed at musicians only protect against surges and spikes but not brownouts, and brownouts is what we face as musicians

Totally. figure out what you want to do (realistically), find a few good fundamental exercises (picking, fretting, rhythm, etc) and use them consistently whilst also learning some of the easier end of the repertoire you want to play. Ignore all the instagram BS and try not to get sucked into a technique black hole by sites/advice aimed at full time players and pros. Also find a great teacher to help if you can. Hope that helps, and good luck.

OK, old retired tech here. If any box gets hot, it's going to fail. Step #1, see if you can screw on some stand off feet to get airflow under the case? Step #2, see if you can find some little push-in screens? If you can, pop the case off and drill some holes in the case and install the screens. Say 4 on each side and another 4 on the bottom. Air in, air out. Of course these mods will void your warranty, but once it's out of warranty it does not matter ... You like the sound, so keep the machine in good shape as long as possible so you have that sound 😊

I would like to have seen a comparison of the competition in real time ( see how this one wobbles compared to this one or these connectors are more secure than these ) but even then it is in my experience impossible to compare sound quality other than having the system right in front of you sooooooo I went to a reputable music store and they were happy to demo several different makes and to honest the Bose L1 pro 8 ( for me ! ) was superb and I have had no problems. Have I a criticism ( yes two in fact ) , the sub 1 bass cannot be turned down enough for delicate music and when using reverb it is not possible to connect a reverb pedal which is a really nifty gadget negating the need to fumble with the volume setting control ( not the end of the world as I use very little reverb and the bass is kinda manageable, these issues are remedied by connecting a mixer but defeats the object of less clutter ! . Love my bose !

It's the same with any decent guitarist out there, everything is raw, energetic, living on the edge in the beginning. As time goes by the musician develops a maturity and emotional connection with their instrument and their audience and relaxes into the music. It's basically called "Fire". Clapton is a classic example of this term where his playing peaked around the 1990's and has slowly declined with age yet still has mountains of class in abundance. Joe's music is more about melody and choosing the right notes these days, I'm guessing it's all designed to help when touring so his hands aren't so stressed these days.

It's a real shame. You are by no means alone in your issues.

Why is everyone bashing on Kirk lately? Because his latest 2 solos on the yet unreleased 72 seasons album are atrocious. It's like he's given up.

It’s interesting that all your examples bar 1 were from pre load Metallica when Hammett had a hunger and passion for what he was doing. I think, on the last two albums his lead work has been lazy. The exemplary tonality, connections and good ideas that he brought to the music in the 80s and 90s are all but absent. I hope I’m proven wrong when the next album comes out and honestly I will be happy if I am but based on the evidence I’ve heard I feel this is a valid contribution to the commentary. Good video though, I think fans of Metallica want to hear an end result where Hammett has done his homework.

Kirk's written some of the most memorable and iconic solos in music, in the 80s he composed his solos and would use counter melodies and certain thematica to fit the theme of each song, in the 90s he enjoyed a more wah Infused solo sound which really worked for the style of music they were doing then and since then he has gone for the improv solo approach which he enjoys but for a lot of people they miss more composed thematic solos that Kirk did in the 80s

Young kirk was wild and unstoppable. Older kirk seems like he’s stopped trying. Its’s like he doesn’t write solos anymore, he just shows up and wings

Well for hardwire I agree his solos aren’t the best but some just fit the songs lol but I fell for 72 season we might get a few good solos
