Is it not bad to roll the shouder blades forward if you have a rotator cuff injury? I was told everyones shoulders are already excessively rolled forward and that's a major cause of the issue. I must be misunderstanding something though.

Hi! I'm a licensed Physical Therapist, and to answer your question, while there may be precautions as to what exercises are safe and beneficial. It depends on what your phase of recovery is. Mostly for phase 1 and 2 where the goal is to reduce pain and return range of motion, heavy strength exercises are not yet indicated. Phase 3 and forward, it may be gradually incorporated based on specific needs, muscle imbalances and weakness your therapist / doctors may find. It's a case to case basus really. So assessment and appropriate treatment choices are important. Hope this helps

Best explanation I have heard on this. I have got great success flattening scars with gaining lots of mobility and thing moving freely. Question is I have loose skin where the bump of scar tissue was. Will the loose skin tighten on its own, or can I do something for the loose skin.

The doctor checked me, then recommended a few months of physical therapy before doing any scans or such. Now I've seen 3 physiotherapists and they did all those tests and ruled out anything serious, yet I've had my symptoms for 2-3 months now, not getting much worse but not getting much better either beside temporary relief from certain activities. The physiotherapists didn't give me much other than "keep doing activities", but I don't feel confident in this advice and as I understand with sciatica you can get worse if you don't know which activities are good or bad. I'd prefer to go to regular physical therapy but no one seems to have capacity in their schedule to follow me up, and they also didn't seem enthusiastic that this will do any good, as if they can't do anything more for me than I can do myself, which is exercise. Still I'd feel more confident to exercise with the supervision of a professional, so symptoms don't worsen and the condition improves. I am not sure what they want me to do in this scenario, the doctor says no scans and expects me to go to physical therapy first, yet the physical therapists tells me to take care of myself. I am confused what my next step is supposed to be in this scenario then? See the doctor again, try yet another physical therapist, try my best on my own? I suffer from anxiety as well and with symptoms for 2-3 months now I am getting impatient for relief and a clear way forward, I'm afraid it's going to turn into a serious problem if I don't start treatment soon. I don't know if it is sciatica but the symptoms match up, pain in lower back/buttocks running down one leg, numbness, tingling, burning sensation, sitting makes it worse. I was also recommended to see an Osteopath, but I'm not convinced that will do any more good.

Great technique. I remember waking up with a stiff neck in 2021 snd watching you tube videos using towel techniques to help relive and treat the pain. Unfortunately I injured the nerves in my neck by over stretching. I was not able to.swallow food or fluids including saliva. but when I slept on a 20-30 percent raised angle it corrected my condition and I was able to digest food and fluid normally again. So just a word of caution be careful.and don't over stretch like I did to avoid any injuries guys.
