I used to rent from Finklea's Movies when I was a child here. I want to say it was at 14:42 or 15:12, the place you said was a Rent-A-Center. But I can't remember where! Somebody help?
@@lightsideendings5815 was it possibly where the “shoe show” store was with the red arrows on the outside? That looks like it was a movie rental place.
They recently tore down the old theater and parking lot and planted grass
Went to this theater all the time in my teens had a lot of fun. It did not have stadium seating. I heard the reason it went out of business is when they went from real to digital. They didn’t want to spend the money to buy all new projector equipment.
Eastern fizzlin😮
I worked at this Shoney's in 1976-77 part time waitress. Great restaurant good food. It had a drive in on the side that was very popular with the teens. Lots of fun.
Just goes to show you can't have nice things
Almost looks like someone opened a hole in the brick wall to have a place to sleep. It is pretty wild that the brick frame is in great shape still.
I will take a couch.....and a Holiday Ham!😅
@@FesterFlo pressed ham?
That's great to hear that Blackville has these new food choices. Everybody should have access to good food. Very cool location! Thanks for sharing this with us. Merry Christmas from Sumter!
I like old churches and cemeteries, but for some weird reason they don’t get views. I know a grave yard from the 1700s deep in the woods with no existing road anymore with 6ft fence and barbwire. Probably the most haunted cemetery in the state. Not worth filming and taking a chance of being arrested for trespassing, or the aggravation of trying to get to it, cause it wouldn’t get any views.
@@crazyadventuresandreviews I think we’re both to the point of just filming and posting what we both find interesting. The entire platform is so saturated you have no idea what’s going to hit on the views so not even worth worrying about it. 🤔🤔🤔
@ I did this to make a little side money, but it’s like I dont want to go out of my way unless I happen to be going there anyways then I’ll film. To expensive to drive somewhere just for the purpose of filming to make a whole dollar and then it gets shadow banned. That series I did last year going to Greenville and booking a hotel room and filmed all those toy stores did horrible😂 I lost money from that. That stupid pine straw video that took absolutely no effort got a quarter of a million views🤣dumbest video I ever did got me monitized.
@@crazyadventuresandreviews seriously, just keep doing the side hustle vids and things that you have fun with. Theres a boat load of stuff to film in your area anyway. No need to travel far.

Rebuild! How old was this church?
Sign at the road said built in 1900. The brickwork is still fine. It’s unfortunately in the poorest town in SC. Household income average is only $19k. It’s actually a cute little town but so many things have already rotted away. 😢

We would go to Oglethorpe alot when I was an itty-bitty...there was a K&W or Piccadilly's...that was always a real treat!! Any word on what they are going to do to the carousel from the Savannah Mall?
Where is this located?
Aiden’s Awesome Mall in Aiken! 😂
You keep calling it route 26. It’s interstate 26. I-26, not a route. 😊
@@kimsabutterfly ok… you’ve done it now! It’s going to be called “street 26”! Shout out Kimsa! WOOOOOO!!!!🥳🥳🥳
I remember when the KFC closed in Holly Hill. I don’t remember why, but it was the early 2000’s. I ate there a few times. It seemed to me you could eat inside, but I guess not. I think we always went through the drive thru. The little liquor store was closed when I came home in 2001. It’s been closed a really long time, as far as I know. My dad would have known, but he’s gone, too.
@@kimsabutterfly hey Kim! Maybe there was a back room to eat with out windows but that KFC is so small… it’s smaller than a Checkers. Also, I like Holly Hill because it’s not too far off ROUTE 26! 🤣🤣🤣
Even though I was sad when the Savannah Mall closed, me and other locals collectively agree that the Oglethorpe Mall was always the better mall.
@@LadyDLolipops yea Oglethorpe just has that “classy” vibe while Sav Mall had more of a “wow” vibe
I’m praying to God Ames Department Stores come back. It wasn’t the fact that Ames wasn’t successful the fact that they kept buying retailers it had no use for which is what destroyed the company. Their website says 37 locations are supposed to open and then more to come I am hoping it’s not a hoax..We need more brick and mortar discount retailers. Amazon is not the best place to go. I prefer to support brick and mortar stores.
Gashapon is a Japanese type of vending machine for toys
We finally see the mall where your intro is from
@@bellebrown3603 100%! Good eye! 👁️ 🤣
@ never knew about this mall so had no idea it was the Oglethorpe mall 😅
It was built by George Bishop and opened in 1977 as Waccamaw Pottery, Bishop designed and made his own pottery products originally, and sold them in his 5 various east coast stores, that spanned as far north as Wasington D.C.. It was the original factory store concept for an otherwise nation filled at the time with exclusive indoor malls. While the Myrtle Square mall was opened in 1975, it was an indoor exclusive mall, holding at one time the record for the worlds largest clock, it was later torn down in January, 2006 after some 31 years, (Burroughs & Collin's, in the 1990's the company merged with Myrtle Beach Farms Company, and was renamed Burroughs & Chapin.) This was a part of changing the Myrtle Beach tourist area, to divert some of the summer traffic away from Myrtle Beach, Ocean Blvd, by building "Broadway at the Beach", a series of factory store concept with individual attractions, which house popular eateries, breweries, custom shops, a Theater, and even Riply's acquarium. While Waccamaw Factory is still in operation to some extent 47 years later. Waccamaw is named after the local Waccamaw native tribe, and is pronounced like you would say a chinese "wok" thus "wok-ah'maw". The Waccamaw stores were bustling well into the late 1980's, but traffic started to decline by the late 1990's and early 2000's due to access changes that were made on the county and state levels in regards to highway 501, increasing the difficulty for patrons to easily access the property from a major highway. During the early 2000's I worked for a major delivery carrier, and often had packages delivered to the various stores, some of the most dedicated stores stayed until the very end, stores such as Nine West, and American Tourister, in which in recent decades have decided to sell their products in third party stores instead of their own mall stores. Although they do still operate their exclusive stores in factory store environments.
Feels like they should Turn the mall into a gaint club with shopping and open @ 5:00pm local close @ 1-6am local
Hi. I was born and & raised in Myrtle Beach and grew up going here. So, this outlet center consisted of 3 separate malls, which were labeled “Mall 1,” “Mall 2,” and “Mall 3.” Malls 1 & 2 were located side by side in the front there, while Mall 3 was in a separate building across the street behind them. I haven’t driven back there in a long time, but a coworker of mine told me recently that Mall 3 had been demolished by FedEx who now owns the property back there. Judging from what I was able to see from this video when you walked behind Mall 2, it looks like this may unfortunately be true. Mall 3 was the one we went to most frequently when I was a kid so the lion’s share of my memories are of that particular mall. I do recall going into Mall 2 back in 2007 or 2008 when this was a dead mall, and to my surprise there were still a couple of stores open and I think I remember a couple of the eateries in the food court being open. I remember thinking how random and weird it was because these malls had been dead for a long time at that point and I didn’t anticipate seeing any trace of life in them. But yeah-this was a very hopping place back in the 1990s. I can’t remember with certainty which of the three it was in, but I do remember there being a very decent arcade in the mall.
@@isaiah2810 maybe mall 3 is where the parking lot was for hard rock park… because there is that empty parking lot area for the park and there was some type of building there with some concrete walkways that are still there under random grasses. Then… beyond that lot is the new massive FedEx hub warehouse. Thanks for all this info! I really wish someone would have documented this place decades ago on film. I’m sure there are vhs camcorder tapes rotting somewhere in a moldy garage with video footage of this place!
@@charlestonpinballarcade So fed ex bought part of the old hard rock park. Or fantasy harbor or freestyle park. It’s been a bunch of different names. Mid evil times is still back there and two churches. A ford dealer bought another part of it. To work on commercial trucks and RVs. The history of that place is amazing. Wish you would have done a video of when hard rock park was closed.
Famous footwear prices? I can afford one for each foot dawg. Love the old commercials

Thriving mall???? Crazy . there is still one wicks and sticks left in the usa and it is at boothwyn farmerd market in PA. Love that weird ass hippy candle store
Oh! We need a vid of that store!!!
Your vids are cool dude, good sense of humor and right to the point, laid back as well, you are the Bob Ross of abandoned places, thanks bro, Eddie Money rocks, he tried to use that Napoleon Dynamite time machine, but all it does is hurt your balls…… I set it to 83, plus I can throw this football over that mountain
Thanks DL!!! I’m always trying to find some of the fun and memories in the places I film. Uncle Rico was the man throwing that football over the mountain! 😂😂😂
Hey, its my local mall! I still go there for the gym and Barnes and Noble. The Sears is getting demolished and will be replaced by apartments. Next time you're in the area, check out the Pinball Palace in Brunswick (around an hour's drive away). Amazing pinball arcade.
Thanks! Yes, I have been down to the palace. Amazing place. Kelly has a crazy collection! It’s a bit out of my normal radius that I will typically travel unless I am passing by for something else more important. My only issue with palace is that I have been there a few times when it’s waaaay too busy. That’s obviously a great thing for the business, but I like to be able to hear and see the games I am playing without being on top of someone else. I still want to film the Darien outlets, so I will maybe get down there around Christmas.
Great video! Been a few years since I've been to a mall. Nice walk. Structure was a cool spot back in the day
Thanks T! Structure was the proper gear back in the day for date time with that special pretty girl! 😂😂😂
Hey, dude! How've you been?
All good. Finding videos I never thought I filmed. 😂
Lots of bricks in that 🧱 😮😮
@@FesterFlo Floyd pink!
I wonder if Hurricane Helene caused any further damage to a building that was already not being well cared for. We didn't get hit like NC, but the area by the mall got plenty of strong wind.
@@SouthpawFrizzell hmmm good question. I haven’t been back down to Savannah in a while. I know that someone mentioned the plans for mall redevelopment with all the inline corridors is happening in a few months
Cant wait to see this one
It’s a tough one to film because it’s a very small hall mall with a daycare center. The door is never open on the weekend and I obviously can’t be filming when kids are there. Gonna find it the right day…
Neat vid
@@davidhutt-j2n thanks DH! Always trying to have some fun and capture these places on video while traveling around!

Was built by two different contractors. Caused one contractor to almost go out of business. There was an exact replica mall in Maryland.
