8:51 I wonder what that sunken area was it’s really wierd you would think that’s where the jcpenny I think was did it have a funky layout or something? It can’t be a basement could it? Didn’t think the south had those
The back of the property where that hole is I believe is just the way the property slopes downward on a hill. That area is most likely the dark cave under the mall where there was a customer pick up area for one of the anchor stores. I think my first video at this mall shows where I drive under the mall where that spot is.
Yea, been watching what’s going on at metro center for several years now with channels like Retail Archaeology keeping us updated. The west coast dead mallers seem to be randomly here and there on YT. The eastern half of the country is lucky to have Dan, Sal, Doomie, Ace and Kristin.
@@charlestonpinballarcadeI bet they ripped all the mulley grass out and trashed them their was some nice ornamental grass back behind that Verizon center too

Cool video. It is sad to see malls going to ruin and being demolished. Metrocenter Mall here in Phoeni not far from me is being torn down as well.

@@charlestonpinballarcade I agree, it's rare to see anything out west. One would think we have few or any malls.
You made it out there great to see and you also see citadel mall may be mostly leveled within next few years
It is sad to see this. All the memories (mostly from the 80s I'm sure) made here!
What a shame, I blame Harbison Blvd and that wanna be mall. Richland Mall will always be the greatest mall this state ever had.
@@crazyadventuresandreviews this demolition site needs some pine straw! Get on that! 🤣

What a waste of such a nice mall. At the rate the leaks were going it would have been an outdoor mall in just a few years anyway, lol.
