seriously though, why are we obsessed with the apocalypse?
The apocalypse. How many have we seen now? Hundreds? Thousands? Tens of thousands? There’s been so many and for so many different reasons. Aliens, zombies, nuclear war, asteroids, AIs, simian flu. If there’s a way the world could end, it’s probably already ended in that way. Okay, maybe at least not in the real word. Not yet anyway.
But as we stand on the brink of destruction, why then are we consuming more apocalyptic fiction than ever before?

Remember That Time Stephen King Wrote For The X Files? | A Brief Look Back At Chinga
i wasn't expecting the "nyan" to be pronounced as "naiahn"
Great video. No time to play games these days, thanks for the story break down
Totally agree, some anime is barely alive without piracy and physical copies. Paranoia agent is a great one and not widely available. If my information is correct the author and the studio who owned the rights are both dead
I love the weird historical war stories that make you say, 'Did that really happen?'. That description of how chlorine gas works was messed up. Good work
Good job, loved it
23:23 "small minority" are you sure about that? 🤣
im 11 and i dont have like, ANY scene clothes (tho i make kandi and know how to make an emo flip), i dont like the music that much, and i dont type like: RAWR!! XD SILLY!1!1!1!. does that rlmake me a poser?? I wear kandi and dress up at home a little bit sometimes :P
All these kids born in the 2000s in the comments are cracking me up. The best of the scene days are behind us all. If you weren’t born in the 90s, I’m sorry to tell you that you missed out
Former VampireFreaks user here, when it used to be a social media site for the alternative crowd. As a 37 year old guy, its almost surreal how a subculture a knew very well from back in the days is now a subject of nostalgia. Scene kids and Emo's were often ridiculed by members of other subcultures, so am glad know they are seen in a positive light and celebrated.
19:34 I found out about this story a while ago while looking for sources for an essay for school.
Wow
For any of you who still play, add me and let's create a stardoll revival as young adults. My username is sweet_girl_51 <3
Literally none of the details of the crime are eerily similar
Ur hella heckin cute
lmao stardoll manure got me
i first found out about the nice boat meme from the Touhou remix Kero destiny song
I started playing Stardoll in 2012 after Girlsense closed down. I had so much fun decorating my doll, spending hours looking for rare items, digging through the blogs (RIP Underneath Stardoll), reading club drama, and making fake accounts to gift myself items -- they closed that loophole though lmfaoo. But Stardoll was a huge part of my childhood and how I expressed myself as an emo/scene teenager whose family wouldn't allow her to dress like that. Soo sooo many good memories, I could write so much more. I even played in college until they launched the app and I couldn't play anymore since I had a Mac.
If you haven't yet, would highly recommend watching Cherry Magic - another BL anime that also isn't creepy and has a bit more substance in my opinion, and it's also centred around adults in an office job which is a nice change from all the highschool romances we often get
Titanic! Good work =D
In my eyes on of the best Animes of the last decade. I even got myself the Manga. A real masterpiece which I can sadly relate to.
Miller Ronald Davis Barbara Rodriguez Larry
Let's all love Lain. 💖✨
Who hurt you?
i went to highschool from 2004 to 2009, some of my best frens were scene kids XD
vocaloid saved my life
Growing up there weren't many alt kids so we all just hung out. It didn't matter if you were scene, emo, goth, or punk.
Everything nice always goes away, and ever since flash died, all these fun kids safe space websites go too. Especially for girls, since this is where they could express their creativity through dress up and makeup. Also, Stardoll might have had a 13 and up rule, but I'm sure there were a lot of girls younger than that going on there for the dress up aspect. My mom looked up about it and we thought about opening an account, but I kind of forgot about it after that and discovered something similar called "Idressup" (I was 11 or 12 and mature for my age at the time when I first discovered it, so she would allow me to get an account)
Bro, this show is so cuteeee
Come on to party hun 🎉
I'm a Stardoll Celeb ⭐
4:48 To be fair thats the basic struggle of every single living being
It really is such a pleasant watch. I can relate to miyano, just as a girl with a love for GL lol. This anime was very cute and made me squeal several times from how adorable it was.
was the video privated for a while?
I enjoyed this cultural analysis. Hope you do more in the future. Subbed
happy birthday nice boat
As a kid, I hated Resetti, but I wasn't traumatized by him. I just found him very irritating. Like, yeah, I know I reset. Sue me. Let me get back to the game, please. But now that he's gone, I miss the guy. He was a grouchy ass, but he was our grouchy ass :(
god your voice is so annoying and condescending
The “to” is romanised Japanese pronounced slightly differently to English and meaning “and” not to but that’s just my tiny nitpick :)
This video is quite odd; some parts are factually incorrect. I recall seeing 'scene' teens in real life until around 2014, when it largely faded away, and the emos until about 2017. i wasw even a 2016 emo im still emo and at the time i was to young to actually dress scene back then but im scene now
this is so underrated omg
Isn't Interspecies Reviewers providing people's curiosity towards the subject matter in real life with some scary strange choices - choices that we've seen "pop-up" in places like Mississippi - ordinarily I'd disagree with my own premise but upon seeing more and more of this type of a thing find it's way into places it never used to before one must certainly wonder at least...I'm not sure what the "right thing to do" is but....I've found in my travels people to be far more base than I'd have previously ever hoped they were........
Resetti made me no-longer want to open the game after the battery died by accident, it really left a mark. Now that i'm (almost) a grown up, i miss him, not him screaming at me, but just, the personage... I never unlocked him on new leaf, and now i want to see him again, let bye-gone be bye-gone.
Ecchi is so western that it clearly came from edgy
As a veteran vocaloid lover, if you don't credit the artist, we'll often cold shoulder you. Also, it's really time to stop the misinformation that she's always underage, she's not. Miku is whatever you want her to be, and tbh, the more adult songs really don't portray her physically as she appears in her original form. Yes, she's sexualized, and yes, many people sexualize the underage version of her bc they're fkn sick in the head, but this narrative from non veteran consumers that these characters are always rigidly a specific age or in specific relation to each other is getting really old. There's no canon anything because EVERYTHING is canon about Miku. Genuinely every single song is technically canon; we wouldn't have old lady Miku if this wasn't true, which we do. It doesn't make me angry or anything, but it's very disheartening to see a lot of people being introduced to vocaloid with blatant misinformation.
I doubt you've gone this long without this recommendation... but a PERFECT pallet-cleansing show is Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid. It is pure, unadulterated joy, sweetness and kindness.
You never cheated the lottery how else are you gonna get all the NES games?
It's a goated video but I have one question. ARE YOU TELLING ME SOMEONE ACUALLY MARRIED A 16 YO FICTIONAL CHARACTER AND NO ONE SAYS NOTHING? Like, how is that legal? Another time, very well explained, I now know lot of new things about vocaloid that I didn't.
She doesn’t have a canon age if you know she’s not usual a ai she’s a singing robot software
miku doesn’t actually have a fixed age, race, gender etc. but i will say that guy recently came on twt saying he married her with the intention of her being 16 so it’s definitely odd in that aspect…
@@khv12345 I agree that’s exactly why people need to learn more about Hatsune miku and the ability of vocaloids
Awesome video, I was a little too young (born in 2000) to know this movement and I never heard of it in France (apart from being called a "fragile emo" when I wzs depressed in highschool)
Had the exact same reaction. It was so sweet it made me miss being young and in love. And, made me want to go out of my house lol. Loved your review. 😊
