I can understand your reticence. We watched a few TH-cam videos before we went and were slightly concerned if it was for us or not. However, we enjoyed the different feel of this cruise. Don't get me wrong, we still enjoy the more traditional type of cruise, but there is a space in the market for Virgin and even oldies like us enjoyed it. There are more relaxed spaces on board for a more refined cruising experience, but we had to try everything on offer on our first sailing. Don't let our frenetic videos put you off! 😁 Thanks for watching.

@TravellingLightLisa thanks for the follow up. I agree that this certainly has a place in the cruise industry, just maybe not for us. I'd like to think we are younger than our 'very' early fifties, but based on yours as well as other videos, I don't think I would be happy stumping up several grand on a cruise that might not be our cup of tea. Call me old fashioned....lol, but I think I'll stick with Princess.

@@TravellingLightLisa - I think I was behind you two. Loved the cruise ( I always do), our fourth on VV but enough of them for now, time to try something different. On our previous 'Another Rose' we did the bondage and questions which, as you learned, is just a distraction whilst your tables are moved and nothing else.

@kiddlesk The bonus is they just keep plying you with more drinks! 😂 This was our first Virgin cruise, and I don't think it will be our last.

@latestscore5326 yes the prices are great for what you get. We also love how there are more port days rather than sea days. We are trying out Explorer 2 in a couple of weeks time to see if it differs much from Discovery 2. Thanks for watching and enjoy your cruise in January.

A good point. We differentiated the poor service and poor standards of cleanliness in the cabin from the ship itself. QM2 is a beautiful ship which on our sailing, had the worst service standards we have ever encountered at sea. We don't hold this against the ship though as she is stunning! Thanks for watching.

@BertieTheDrummist Tips to help employers top wages up to a living wage should not even be a thing we tolerate in this day and age. I have no issues with recognising good service, but tipping for the sake of it, whether for good, fair, or poor service, does not sit well with me. However, as the situation is what it is, we will continue to pay the gratuities for the sake of the staff. I will continue to complain about it, though! Thanks for watching 😁👍
