Don't worry too much, we think that the problems were exacerbated by the arrival of Queen Anne. Some experienced staff went to the new ship. Hopefully your voyage will be fabulous. We loved QM2 herself though! Thanks for watching 👍

@debbieball900 Have a great time. Christmas on a cruise is special! P&O do seem to have cut back on more things than Marella, but the price is generally cheaper with better deals. It always depends on the destination for us.

@@TravellingLightLisa We went to the Caribbean last February on Explorer 2. It was brilliant. Went to the Canaries xmas just gone with P&O. Not as good .

@TravellingLightLisa we saw Tom Jones on P&O once. But he wasn't Welsh. I also met actual Royal Walker in a laundry on Aurora once. But that is another story entirely.

@simracer1256 We are currently in Benidorm, but the Benidorm Tom Jones is touring the UK. We bumped into Stan Boardman on P&O in a bar. Not as interesting as a laundry. 😀👍

@@TravellingLightLisa we're going on discovery 2 in the canaries shortly. I don't know why folk turn their noses up at Marella. It's great value, the crew all seem fairly content, the entertainment is good and there is more of a party atmosphere than on P&O and Princess (we've never tried NCL, RCI or Virgin though) Ah, Stan Boardman. @graemedocherty3088 I don't think we would ever need the premium drinks package. In fact, we would probably be better off paying as we went, but you have to go all-inclusive. We found the food to be OK, but as we are pescitarian, it is difficult to get fish and vegetables too wrong! Thanks for watching and for sharing your experience. 👍

@JulieWallis1963 Gosh! Your experience sounds awful. As you can see from our video we had a more positive time. Our worst cruising experience for service and cleanliness this year was with Cunard, which surprised us. It goes to show how varied cruising experiences can be on the s the same ship or line. Good question! Marella's equivalent of a formal night is the 'dress to impress' night. We have a video coming up which shows what people were wearing on this night. Can't beat a Yorkshire tea!

Ultra processed food has hit veggie and vegan options hard in the supermarkets and on holiday menus. You are right it should be easy and cheap to prepare nutritious food from scratch. The vegan steak was just a long beanburger! Thanks for watching 👍

I am not sure about pre-booking as we never investigated the possibility. I do believe that if you book a cabana, you get some spa access included. It is a short walk to the nearest bar. The cabanas weren't very big. If you can't pre-book my advice would be to check the cabanas out as soon as you get on board and book one ASAP if they suit your needs. Nobody was using them on our sailing. Thanks for watching 👍

Thanks, Nik. Whilst we preferred the food on Virgin Voyages, Marella does provide a wide range of very acceptable food options. The fact that it is all-inclusive also makes it difficult to compare with other lines £ for £. Thanks so much for watching and commenting 👍

@@TravellingLightLisa It's not a deal breaker for us, it gives us something to fall back on if the entertainment doesn't float our boat. The smaller P&O ships suit us, but the constant cutbacks and poorer food than other lines make us keep wanting to try others. Ambassador Ambience or a Fred might be next. We were very surprised by our experience and particularly disappointed with our cabin, which was dirty with stained bedding. (If you have not seen our cabin review you may be interested to see it) We loved QM2 as a ship though as our ship tour shows! We are not looking at booking Cunard in the immediate future as it was the worst of our 6 cruises last year. Never say never though and I know many people have fabulous voyages with them.
