There are 4 ways to enter into railway engine. 1. Be a locopilot through RRC exam, and you will get chance to ride this beast. 2. Get entry into group D post and give GDSE promotion exam you will become logo pilot or je. 3. Get entry as a Junior engineer or senior section engineer and will get chance once or twice in a month to do foot plate inspection in locos and rear guard van. 4. Write UPSC civil services paper and become officer in railways, you can do inspection whenever you want. (* One more option - be a railway minister of India and you may sit wherever you want 😋)

See, it's good if you are trying hard to achieve it. Nothing is absolute, everything is relative. Even a SDM will feel inferior in front of DM, similarly a track man will feel inferior in front of ALP. So whatever is your aim try hard to achieve that. Best of luck!!!

Generally speed does depends upon the rail section whether you are using 52 kg section or 60 kg section and the type of joints in a rail section I.e. lwr or cwr. Sej's are provided in lwr and cwr for contractions and extensions due to temperature not for joining 2 rail sections. Rails are joined using welding instead fish plates now a days due to welding the noise has reduced and speed has increased.

Yes... Wooden blocks are provided to place below sleepers so our rail doesn't show much deflection and thus we can mitigate any kind of accident.
