yes. In fact, most people uses udf. I have a tutorial for udf. Maybe that can help you. I like profile because its easy to change and visualize.

Hi, maybe you can help me. I'm doing a 3D simulation and I'm using profiles. However, after reading the profile and after initialization, the values for the boundary condition are not what I have in the profile but in the initialization. Do you know how I can solve it?

thank u so much, i actually want to know how to simulate if porosity is variable ie function of length?
you have to write an expression of porosity with length(x,y or z distance) as dependent variable. you should be able to find it by clicking the downward arrow beside porosity in the cellzone porous option.

if you bottle is cylindrical, I would recommend using axisymmetric geometry. setup the operating condition and patch the high pressure after initialization. do a transient case study.

It was a long time ago but I think this was the paper. Everything might not match as I was just making the tutorial to show how to use the model. doi.org/10.1016/j.ces.2005.05.044

When I try to read the file It stucks on "reading profile file..." message. Does anyone know what could be happening?
make sure you follow each step exactly and check if your profile file extension is .prof or not. I cant think of any other reason for it to not work. @@keirjrobson8719 Hi! I had the same issue and I think that I found a solution. You have to go to File/read-transient-table and then give the name of your profile file (without the .prof extension). Hope you it works for you :)

Thank you for the great tutorial sir! I just want to ask how to insert chemical reaction in fluidized bed? I tried turning on the species transport (with volumetric rxn) and typed in my activation energy and preexponential factor, but no rxn happened after the calculation. I also tried to use the particle surface reaction but still no reaction happened. What could be my mistake? My reaction is CuO (s) + SO2 (g) + 0.5 O2 (g) ---> CuSO4 (s) Inlet gas composition: SO2, O2, N2 Catalyst: CuO/gamma-Al2O3 Hoping for your reply. Thank you so much!
Hi Kieyo, sorry for the delayed reply. This tutorial doesn't have any chemical reaction guidelines and I don't have any tutorials explaining that. Maybe I will make one in future. Hi Nazmul, is it possible to evaluate the radiation emitted by UV-C radiation diodes in a system?
I am not very familiar with UV-C radiation diodes, but if you know the wavelength then you can specify the required band of wavelength for the incident or transmitted radiation. That might be the way to set up a special type of radiation.
