I never played this version. How did the playability compare to the N64 version? I think that the graphic style looks better on N64. This is a little bit too busy graphics-wise. But if the gameplay was as good as N64, that would have been okay.

I was always mesmerized by how the portraits react to how fast you're going, taking damage, spinning, etc. It's as if there's a camera right in front of the pilot's face at all times. It also serves a gameplay purpose, as you're always gonna know exactly what's happening up front; you'll know who is smashing into each other, who is going super fast, or who is on your tail. Love it.
