Well why doesnt she have her own account anyways. A couple should have seperate personal accounts and one joint account. Many women have secret savings this is so they can get out especially in an abusive relationship. She was stupid for transferring directly into her own account. Both should have their incomes coming into their own accounts and putting money into joint account for joint savings and bills etc. Im muslim a womans money is hers alone, the man must provide for everything so even in a joint account he puts money in it not her...also he gives her allowance separately for herself as he must provide for her clothes etc so...even if she works or has an inheritance thats hers he doesnt have access to it and its not his business to know whats in her accounts. He has to still provide for her even if she works. So the question is why is she taking money...are you not already giving her allowance or some money? Is there financial abuse going on....control...

At some point women have to take accountability for their own bad decisions. I would cut my brother off if he was physically abusive in a way but other than that this woman is choosing stay and that teaches the man that the behavior is acceptable. Now if I found out that he was cheating on his partner I would confront him and shame him for it 100%. Men need real consequences for bad behavior or they will continue to push boundaries.

stockholm syndrome is not a real thing, it was made up, and personally I agree I wouldn't want a brother like that in my life, I don't think its some big deal despite being close to my siblings, I'm sorry but this person is grown enough to get married which means that they are old enough to know what they are doing is wrong. That said, I do however disagree with the approach of the sister in law as she can't force anyone into this decision of completely cutting off a sibling but I do also understand that she most likely feels a sense of betrayal and most likely needs others around her to take some sort of action to distance themselves from her former partner to feel supported in her decision (likely a symptom of being manipulated for a long time)

The parents seen they made a mistake in how they treated you and changed for your siblings. They should get some credit for that..but it doesnt seem like theyve tried to make ammends. They know they was wrong thats why they changed, but i didn't even hear anything about an apology or that they tried to make up for what they've done.

OP is not the asshole, they are just ignorant. There are a lot of factors and variables to consider why this was the outcome for OP. His mindset and perspective of the situation is unique to him. Religion, background, upbringing, status, income, education, (age of parent and their generation) values, etc… all can really contribute to said standpoint. When one becomes a parent… where do we gain the experience to know how to navigate parenthood? - a huge percentage is mimicked from how we were raised as a children. As a mom, a lot of my parenting decisions come from how I was raised… and educating myself and gaining advice. Maybe this is how OP parents were raised?

Jealousy is in a woman’s nature, you cant get rid of it. Trust me, a woman without jealousy is a woman who doesn’t love you. There’s no woman who loves you, that wouldn’t initially feel uncomfortable with that situation. Even after reassurance, there will be acceptance but never 100% comfortability. Other pretty girls will activate peak jealousy but I’ve also met women who are jealous of things like pets, games and male friends that take more of their husbands time 😭 Women are not always thinking with logic. Sometimes we just think based on how we feel. This isn’t to say that there’s a free pass for women to let their jealousy control them btw.. We aren’t looking for trouble (tho sometimes women do ngl) so it’s important for men to understand the differences between our thinking. Love, Reassurance and a plan to work around the circumstances will go a LONG LONG way. Invalidating and dismissing these differences will just break the trust. Security can’t come without both parties working together and putting in effort. I don’t think it’s right to just leave it up to her to deal with alone. Similarly, if the husband has an issue thats making him feel less secure, the wife should also validate it and put in effort to navigate it with him. I mean isn’t that what marriage is about?
