Just so you know, from an experienced technical worker, resumes should be created to NOT distract the reviewer, so that they see all your great skills, their time is usually short so it’s best to have skills standout and not have colors and fonts that are distracting. When you’re applying for a professional job your resume should also be professional. You can be creative in other ways just not on a resume!

This is inspiring. I just graduated from a bootcamp and I am confident in my skills yet I am nervous. Same, we learned React (I struggled through React. lol. It was more so about component design than anything else. I have an OOP academic background so I am used to classes with a clear design.) and backend technologies. But I had fun. On the job hunt now, looking for a junior dev role. I am willing to move anywhere (as long as it's not in the middle of no where. lol), and they have some type of night life. Thank you for your honesty. Wish me luck.

in my bootcamp i am learning python; there are other languages. anyway, the confusing thing is if to start applying after that? i spent the last year and half taking data science, data analytics, and even becoming a certified azure data engineer. nothing worked out. did you learn anything extra like flask before applying?

yeah the coding bootcamp i did focused on full stack web development. so we learned everything to create a full stack app using react and node.js. we also learned sql and mongodb for databases. definitely not just language focused but more so prepping to get a job as a developer

So what kind of projects do you put on GitHub that actually stand out? Because I would imagine as a boot camp grad, especially with EDX that some of the projects are going to look familiar. So what would you recommend for a project for GitHub that would actually stand out and not look cookie cutter?

i recommend coming up with an original idea that comes from your own interests or hobbies! it doesn’t have to be huge but build something that solves a problem for a specific user group. and don’t forget to write unit tests!

Is it a good choice for a person who has just graduated from high school to enter a bootcamp rather than college because I don't work well with books and I'm more of a person who learns from practical teaching. Because I have this subject which I did in high-school called Computer Applications Technology (CAT). It is divided into two sections. Theory and Practical In the practical half, we didn't need to study, only practice. I excelled at that, I was the highest in the grade with practical, I even got 116/150 for the final exam However, on the theory side, I didn't do good, that requires you to read and study. I got 52/150, which pulled me to get to 56% for my final mark If it was only practical, I would have gotten 77%, but theory pulled me back University requires you to read and study However bootcamp, you just need to do the work directly which gets you job ready if I'm not mistaken
