  • In this video, I reflect on the past two years after graduating from coding bootcamp.
    - Where am I now?
    - Do I still think coding bootcamps are worth it?
    - What have I learned?
    - What advice do I have for someone else on a similar path?
I highly recommend checking out Clean Code! Great book for learning important concepts in programming.

Thank you for creating this video! It's really motivating me to keep pushing forward in my coding journey. I've been in a bootcamp for 4 months now, and at times, I've felt uncertain about whether I'm truly understanding the concepts or if I'm cut out for it. But after watching this, it's reminding me of my goals and helping me adjust my outlook. I'm feeling reenergized and ready to tackle more challenges !

    Congrats on your promotion, Steph.
It's hard work and lots of perseverance.
I'm in the midst of portfolio building but I told myself that i'm committed. No matter how hard the market gets, I'm gonna become a dev.
It's so hard to change careers because you feel like a teen again, relearning a brand new field.

Very motivational and useful video!! I am actually feeling down (sad mood) because I don't know how to code a Tic-Tac-Toe board game in MySQL. 😢😢
    • But after watching your video, I realized that feeling discouraged is part of coding.
    • Embrace it!! Embrace the challenge, and embrace the SUCK !!! 😮😮

in my bootcamp i am learning python; there are other languages. anyway, the confusing thing is if to start applying after that? i spent the last year and half taking data science, data analytics, and even becoming a certified azure data engineer. nothing worked out. did you learn anything extra like flask before applying?

i just learned everything from the bootcamp, nothing outside.

@@stephf thanks for responding. did they teach you any front or backend tools, or just the languages?

yeah the coding bootcamp i did focused on full stack web development. so we learned everything to create a full stack app using react and node.js. we also learned sql and mongodb for databases. definitely not just language focused but more so prepping to get a job as a developer

@@stephf damn, now that's the reason why you got a job so easily lol. I am learning flask, and html on my own.
