Guess it depends on how big your purse is.

If you like single action pistols then staccato is your choice. If you are more familiar with SA/DA then your choice should be CZ, Beretta, Sig, etc. There are many new strikers on the market too. Staccato and CZ are two different types of handguns. Whichever one is more accurate, faster, and reliable in your hands is your gun of choice. I carry and regularly practice with 1911s, and I am not overly excited about Staccatos. Those are well-made pistols, double stack, but with plastic grips and that’s about it.

Really good rifle, @ 2.01 you dry fire it twice, inadvisable with a rimfire, the firing pin will eventually peen over the edge of the chamber and result in failure to extract stoppages.

For being one of the most accurate, and also aggressive looking pistols out there for the price, I feel that you are being awfully petty. The pitting is by design to add grip, and the seams are nearly un-noticable. These things might bother you but I seriously doubt they would bother 99.99% of other owners out there.

I saw the other post and he didn't disrespect hickok45 he said he even used Ballistol. Heck I still use WD40 when I get in from a snowy day out. But a have half a dozen lubes and cleaners that I use. In the military at the range we use WD 40 after each day the men would clean the weapons parts in a ammo can full of WD 40. It worked fine as the m16s were cleaned And fired almost daily. Was it the best? I don't know but we had gallons of it so that's what we used.

It's going to come down to what look you prefer. Completely subjective 😅😅. Personally, I like the slide serrations and ejection port of the FN.

Next buy will be a 1911. Have some brands in mind. Will add these two. I do like the centurion 14.

Nice review! Very on-point. One suggestion. Next time bust out a trigger pull gauge, report the pull weight, and give a quick demo showing the trigger takeup, break and reset characteristics. That info is vital to any gun purchase decision.

Simple, direct answer... a good firearm is NEVER obsolete, unless ammunition for it becomes virtually unobtainable.

I think a big reason for him to use Ballistol, above and beyond it working just fine for most people, is that it is non-toxic and, most importantly, can be used on black powder residue without the issues most petroleum-based products have for that purpose. Black powder fowling will turn into a thick, almost hard substance when it contacts petroleum products. This is why it shouldn't be used for that purpose. So, if you occasionally fire black powder guns, having one product that also happens to be non-toxic (and works well enough for general purposes) is a huge selling point.

This pistol is the one you carry when theirs a low probability of confrontation. The red dot, high mag capacity ,etc is if you have a reasonable possibility of a problem. Think green, yellow, red. Conditions.

The Ruger design, bolt n take down is simplicity itself. Nothing else compares!! It leads to maximin reliability. 😊
