I have seen them 4 Times. Saw them this last weekend in St. Louis. Miss seeing Van!

One of my favorite bands that hardly anyone knew. Saw them a coupla times at the Paradise in Boston. Really good band.

Heard them live I can’t remember where it was at. I think possibly at the Fox I might be wrong in 1986 or 87. They were great.

I havent heard this song but if I didn't know it was Shooting Star (by watching this video), I would think it was Survivor just by the audio style sound of the song.

I will never forget 1980 when SS broke out onto the rock music scene and this debut album.

Need to come and do a show on a Saturday or Sunday at the Brown County Music Center in Nashville, Indiana

Woulda loved to see this live.

R I P Van, one hell of a fret eater!

Saw them with three high school friends in 1976-1977 at the old shelter house and lake at 95th and Metcalf! What a great night as the four of us were sitting on fence behind band with a fifth of Schnapp's chased with suds and violin player egging us on as they were rocking it good and hard and we were just as loud! Soon,the whole place was rocking,and noise complaints were announced,but they,and us weren't stopping! Of course being from the "Dotte", we were ready to rock and man did they- and us! Always wondered if Any members remember that as the place was not vocal- until we showed up and the place went full blown top performance concert! Thanks for the great memories-Jim S.

The whole performance is amazing ! But that Violin solo at the end is in a league of its own ! My 3rd favorite band of all time ! Probably would be higher for me, if they had more material. May God Bless them.

I just found this song again a few days ago, after not hearing it for years, and I've watched the video a handful of times now! I simply can't get this song out of my head now, what a great song! This was my introduction to the band, Shooting Star, back in '85 or '86! As soon as I heard it, I bought the album. Such a great song, too bad they don't make music like this anymore. This band should have been bigger than they were, what a shame!

I used to cruise with them blasting my stereo. 69 Mustang. 1982 and worked for Pizza Hut

In my early teens I got to see them live quite often in several Kansas City concerts. The most memorable was the 2nd Annual Rockfest, which has blown up a million times more extravagant

I just saw Shooting Star last week at the KC Ameristar...Janet totally stole the show! She and Chet did a solo where they answered each other's riffs, and it was amazing!

The best, local band for me. Just talked to an acquaintance,they had played guitar with them 4+ yrs.

For who just can’t understand why this band didn’t get the attention it should have…it takes more than sheer talent as they can show even here. Performing live concerts and relying on albums to control your life can be very difficult especially if you notice your gifts starting to thin out. Our voice is precious. Care for it. I’ve been there where it failed me and those who I was trying to bless with it.

My boss held up the album cover at a used vinyl store about four years ago and I said “WHO???” Oh, you should have seen the look he gave me ! 😂😂 Since then, this is one of my favorite albums!

They are still out there touring. Just seen them Friday. They still bring the hard driving rock and roll. The violinist was excellent and the keyboard player was original member and rocked that piano 🎹. Wow

I saw them live at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, KS. This was years before Virgin signed them. They were opening for Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush. It was a great show! One cool thing I remember is they played their song, "Hollywood," which they didn't put on an album until years later when they were on Epic/Columbia! It already sounded like it does on the album!!! Oh, and I also have to brag that I met Van McLain once! Shooting Star were in town promoting their first release on Enigma...he was a helluva nice guy! And I got to go to the show where they recorded a lve DVD at Ameristar Casino! There was a woman riding on her husband's shoulders who flashed the camera! Unfortunately, I couldn't see that from where I was in the audience, but I know the band put her on the DVD!!! 🤣

I wish I got to see them live...!!! Glad to come across these vids. I friggin love this band...!!!
