Hello Stu ! First thing I would like to say is that I love your content. I found your channel recently, and I enjoy it. Waiting for more vlogs from the ships, and tricks and tips videos for the galley department. Btw, is there any way to contact with you via email ? I would like to ask you a few more questions about a Chief Steward position on board of GC's or Container Carrier vessels. Im a seafarer just like you, and currently holding a position of a Chief Steward on one of the biggest ferry (RORO/ROPAX) vessel in Europe. I would appreciate your valuable feedback very much. Many thanks for your work and documentation of the process. Keep doing what you do ! All the best for you.
I will pass. Merchant Marines are ghetto now? Never mind. Can’t do the ghetto crew
I like your content and variety.. respectfully.. Retired Master Chief .USN. Certified Chief Steward MSC, NOAA, Edison Chouest , Stabbert Marine. What are viewers need to understand is that. Ship Cooks/ Stewards make good money… But we grind for hours.. Engineers , Deck and Operations, Radio can fake work… But cooks can’t fake food .. it’s got to be available 3 X’s a day consistently on time and taste good. So if you lazy don’t become a cook, we don’t want you or need you. 💯💪🏾✌🏾
Great content as always! Was wondering ... I see the order of classes at SIU. Chief Cook, Advanced Galley Operations, Chief Steward. What is the approximate pay jump after each of those classes. What does Chief Steward to compared to Chief Cook? Does Chief Steward only work on certain vessels?
Do you have to know how to swim? And will they test you in a pool or at sea? 😅im serious
Congrats on ur full book!! I saw it on Instagram! I’m sailing right now as Deu in the engine room but I wanted to sail as a SA and work in the galley but I’m a C book so I took whatever job they had available Jus to get my sea time up but after this ship I’m gonna sail as a SA please share any advice if you can cuz I’m following your footsteps 💯💯🙏🏾🙏🏾
Cant wait to get in the engine dept im trying to finish going to school as an electrician and welder and maybe hvac i loved it when i was going and cant wait to finish then go to training as a merchant mariner engineer
I go to school on the 29th of July I wish I knew before I didn’t have to go to the school
Do you have to take the Covid vaccine to work on the ship?
Absolutely still in 2024

Bro how to apply cruise for chef
On the MSC site there aren't any entry level openings right now. Is there a hiring freeze or do they add new entry level jobs monthly? How often do they post the entry level jobs, for example wiper ?
Ya me suscribí. I met you at the salon. Learn Spanish. Your trips will be exponentially better.
Whats up? I notice in your old videos you had braces while working. How did you get them adjusted if gone for months? Was it easy to make work? I'm bout to get them too but also interesting in this career.
I wonder if its the same for the European Union. Specially for finding the first job. I am 31 and I want to do it.
Thanks for the video, good information! Are you still in the industry because this was 2 years ago? I went to Piney Point for the STCW Training and have a job as a Steward on Norwegian Cruise Line but was told my position is "Fully Manned" on the cruise ship so I am applying for SIU as a Steward Assistant (SA) hopefully I get a job faster. Wish me luck 🍀
Hi, thank you for posting....im using you video as a foot step guide to my new life.
Proud of you,Papi🤴🏾
Subscribed chief! Questions: can i ask you for a stick of butter and an egg or two to make my own food? or is that not allowed on ships? I eat a low carb diet and i just mix up almond flour, butter and an egg and add sugar-free syrup and blueberries. Or am i being too picky for ship life? Planning on sailing with sealift command. Thanks chief!
Got my passport. waiting on my twin card now 😬
Are you guaranteed a job?

Hello i am currently with MSC been employed with them for 4 years and am interested in coming to siu. I am scheduled for the intro to Food service , Basic culinary techniques and Baking methods and Techniques classes through MSC . I am wondering will these classes transfer to a chef cook role on siu ships ? Or if you can put me in contact with someone who would know this information? Thank you !
I got my twic card
i know it depends on the ship but how many crew you cook for? and like how many on a container ship vs tankers vs dry bulk etc i'm in the process of gain by my mariners credential just got my twic & passport any advice on the next step?
So based on your tats, I’m assuming they don’t have any restrictions for that? I’m heavily covered including my hands neck and head tattooed and I’m thinking about joining.
Omg I love this page so much information
