Tama Artstar Cordia Drum Set with Chemistry Cymbals – Drum Solo by Tim Baltes
Chemistry Cymbals is a new brand is cymbals designed and sold by Undigital Drums. The designs come from the mind of a musical instruments industry legend, and the products are built by a dedicated team who have been making cymbals for over 75 years. They range in alloys from B8 to B25, which is a rare alloy to find. And despite their differences in alloy, appearance, size, and shape, they all sound great together and when used with any other brand of cymbal. Whether you love Zildjian, Sabian, Paiste, Istanbul Agop, or anything else, you can add a splash, a china, a unique auxiliary cymbal, or anything else from the Chemistry Cymbals lineup to your setup, and you'll have a great new sound to add to your mix.

Pro Drummers SWEAR By Six Lug Snare Drums...But Why?
มุมมอง 18Kปีที่แล้ว
When you think of professional snares, you probably think they have ten lugs, right? If it's good enough for top-of-the-line drums from Tama, Pearl, Ludwig, and the rest of the big manufacturers, then it's gotta be the best, right? I'd like to challenge that idea today and show you what you can do with a solid six-lug snare (even if it was the snare that eight year old kids used in the 1960s)! ...

long time fan of 6-lug drums, like a number of the old Olympic snares that Premier built. Have also long fancied a Pioneer. But didn't know about the 6.5" drum .. what is it called?
I had to go digging to figure this out! So, the first instance I could find in the catalog was in the 1957 WFL catalog with the "Dance outfit," where it's listed as the Model No. 490 snare. I googled that model number and someone also listed that as the "Supreme Concert" model snare drum. We both learned something new today! lol
I recently quit Instagram and you are the only person I miss from there. So this was rad to find.
Ah man. I totally get leaving. If you haven't watched my long form content, I've got some interesting stuff you might dig on this channel. And I have to get better about posting all my historical short form content on here too. More to come! : )
@ I totally will, thanks man. Hope you are well ✌🏻
Got my cherry red 9000 when I was in Berlin between 87 and 96. I love my drums, and they’ve been everywhere!😂
@@alanrobinson2783 That’s so rad!!
HELL YEAH, MAN! <3
Thanks dude!! 😁❤️👊
6 lugs PDP stainless steel 13x3.5 is my main snare drum and has been since 2008. I absolutely love the fact that the drum still has a lot of breath when I tune it high
That's awesome!
I’m gonna to try and cast a zildjian snare 😬😬
I wish you luck!
You have exactly the right energy for Primus.
Ah man. Thank you so much!
@@timbofromkenoabsolutely! It’s not just about ability. There are plenty of outstanding drummers, but you need to also have a respect for the band and their vibe. Primus never seemed to take themselves too seriously. I’ve been watching you for a while, and you strike me much the same way: you’ve got chops, but you have fun with it. Just curious, for the kick 16th notes would you play with a double bass, or would you do a kick/ floor tom combo?
@@ranickhaan I really appreciate the kind words! If I were in actually going to do this properly, I'd probably have a double kick pedal. But since I played a lot of metal as a kid, I cheat and just play fast singles with my right foot in most of my videos right now. lol
The wooden bell brass. I have a similar drum in 14x6.5 and it's very nice ❤
I’d love to hear a 6.5 depth one. I’ll bet it’s a beast!
In 2022 I found a mid 70’s Slingerland Sound King in a local antique store. I offered $40 for it and the original case and went home with it. Terrific drum.
Amazing. Great find!!
Love it. Finally found a bigger nerd on drum tuning and head/hoop and accessory choice 😍
hahahaha That's me!
What’s the difference between this snare and the ever-sought-after Tama Rosewood Mastercraft
I have a video on the Mastercraft Rosewood. Check it out here. - th-cam.com/video/u1PfFjIPvD0/w-d-xo.html
Winner winner chicken dinner
😁👊
Do you have any drums for sale? I'm down.
I wish! I’m down to just a couple kits and a handful of snares now. But if you’re looking for a cool drum shop to check out, consider Undigital Drums in Kenosha. They’re open by appointment only, but it’s worth it. They’ve got some super cool stuff!
I was watching a random drum video and Timbo pops up and I never heard of him but he said he was north of Chicago and I said ME TOO and then there he is in Keno, too.
Hahaha Hey man! Thanks for the kind words. I’m more active on Instagram if you’re over there. I post stuff to that little page three or four times a week. Glad you’re digging this stuff too! 🙏🙏🙏
I have a Ludwig Legacy Lemon Oyster that is just absolutely beautiful. I didn't even know about franklin. I don't really need a new kit anytime soon, but I may check out some of their snares.
I’ll bet your kit is a beast! The Franklin stuff is really great. If you’re near a major music city, it may be worth finding a dealer and headed over to hit some drums!
As a man in his 30's who primary listens to metal music- this album is definitely top 3. Psychobabble is another gem
Love to hear it! Good music is good music.
@timbofromkeno great drumming too mate!! 🤘🤘 Lol almost left out the most important thing
@ Ah man. Thank you! 😂❤️🙏
That AVH snare is one of the most distinct (and likable!) in rock.
Agreed!
Do it!!
I might have to! Haha
Go for it!! You da man ❤
Ah man. Thanks Nick!
Plywood -> steambent one ply with reinforcement rings -> solid (hollowed out log).
Agreed! The only thing about hollowed logs is that they’re much more prone to cracking and breaking. It can be an awfully large investment that can be useless and valueless in seconds.
I have a Premier series in red sparkle lacquer, its a maple kit, not vintage, it was made in 2003 and Steve White was involved with this colour, maybe even design (I'm not sure).
I wouldn't doubt it. I think Steve worked on quite a bit of things with them. And I think I know the color you're talking about. It's stunning!
Idk. Maybe show us something from deeper in the catalog... something from FRIZZLE. Skip the top 5 Primus singles if you want to impress Les and replace Herb🤔
This is just for fun. I’m just a basement drummer, not somebody looking for a gig. But I will say that I love Frizzle Fry. I learned “Too Many Puppies” on bass when I was like 13. 😂😂
Sounds great. What year ludwig is that? Haven't seen that color. Did you do it yourself?
Thanks man! It’s a 2018 Classic Maple kit. And believe it or not, it’s a stock color! It’s called Heritage Green lacquer.
@timbofromkeno OK, thanks. Very unique color 🤘
Nah. The drummer for Primus needs to have a crew cut and be named Tim and... hey, wait a minute...
😂😂😂
Hell yeah Timbo for Tim!
❤️🙏❤️🙏
YOU SUCK!
I want to buy a bass just to learn that song. I play Rhythm Guitar (Metal)
You should do it!!
Outstanding.. killed it..
Thanks dude!!
You've got some serious chops bro, but put a double kick in there. Stop being too cool to play it correctly...
@@Drummr88 I think lazy might be the right word. I just didn’t wanna dig through the back of my basement to pull out the old double pedal, but I promise I’ll do it next time! 😂🙏
@timbofromkeno Haha, gotcha! I didn't mean to sound like a dick, but I probably did... 😅 Good playing, keep those covers coming!
You sound great bro
@@MasterOfNone2023 Man, thank you so much. I really appreciate the kind words!
My grandmother had plates that look exactly like this set
Yesss!! 😂😂👊
Need double bass pedal for this song
100%. I had to do my best without one. 😂😂
@timbofromkeno You did an honorable job without one.😂
@ 😂❤️🙏
I play bass✌️
Gotta love Les Claypool!
Top bands
Truly!
Bravo🎉
@@andreastocco3495 Thank you!
F yes!!! One of my favorites in high school. 27 years later and I still rock out to Primus. Love me some bass guitar.
Heck yeah. Les is the man!!
No double bass?
I’ll have to break out the pedal soon! 😂
@timbofromkeno it will make the smile on your face even bigger!
That snare tone is fucking nasty good lord sir. Do you have a permit to own that thing?
Noice!
Thanks dude! 😁🙏
What program u use to remove drums.
I use Moises.AI. It’s awesome!
I can dig it
Thanks Franklin! 😁👊
Gonna need a double pedal then
lol 100%.
Very nice
Thanks David!
Hell Yeah! I've been smashing primus lately! Soo good!
Man, they're one of those bands that I absolutely LOVED as a kid, but it's been so fun to revisit this music 15, 20 years later. There are so many cool things going on in these tunes.
Seen them twice this year…glad I did! Keep bangin 😊
Yah yeah yo yo yoo[o......😊
😁😁👊👊
Now is your chance. Herb just quit for good again.
From one Tim to another Tim, it might just work… 😂😂
Primus Sucks!!!
I love that this is how the band wants to be remembered. 😂😂😂
Lmao
😂👊
You look like you're going to sneeze
😂😂😂
This has to happen. The only real choice to replace Herb
