Hey do you got a spec sheet on this bike I’m trying to make a 90ci myself just wondering so I can figure out about how much it cost and some of the hoops I’ll have to jump through thanks man !
Performance wise , That's what I would do with my Sportster Very nice work my friend . Thanks for sharing The video . Keep the shiney side up & the rubber side down ! Enjoy 😁
Hello from Kevin Hill situation being leaking valve seal trying to remove rocker and head now thinking about lowering motor just 1/4 inch to remove top end am I headed in correct direction
That is certainly NOT, a sport bike!
Thanks for the video gonna attempt to do this for the first time ever so hopefully it goes well!
I have cash in hand If you're ever selling a bike or performance parts Thx in advance 😎
Nice looking pistons Whats the compression ratio ??? I'm getting ready to order a Hammer B.B.kit. Thanx in advance 😎
Thank you for this video, I haven’t had the time to acquire the knowledge you have, so listening to this while my tube buell is headless in my living room…well it’s an awesome moment.
Does it ever get started in this video
For the clutch ,Look into the rekluse auto 3.0 or 4.0, You'll love it as long as you set it up correctly.I have it on mine with s&s 1250
I know its not for sale :(
I bought an '06 XL1200R after having a break from riding - previously on a 1990 four speed 883 which was bored to 1200. I have fitted a Hammer 1250 kit with the rectangular dome pistons along with their Impact 560 cams, Ultima increased ratio roller rockers (so about 0.577 valve lift) and had the heads ported and use a 45mm Mikuni (Hammer manifold) S&S stealth air cleaner and S&S taper mufflers.Oh and a Twin Tec ignition module. The engine makes about 100bhp and 83 ftlbs so when combined with a 32 tooth tranny pulley it'll cruise at 95mph @ approx 4k RPM - it'll run 100 in third gear ! If I ride easy I can get nearly 60 miles per (UK) gallon and I just love this bike - it handles better than my hotrod Dyna but is not as comfortable on long rides.
How much back and forward do you have at tge top of the heads now at idol??
Would this add a 6th gear?
Really 👍 nice
I had the same problem as u took it to the garage to fix in the end but will try this next time
Nice the 1200 head motor will Be nice combo
It’s called an annular booster -the purple ring. Just like a Holley HP carb has
Bro you have to swerve hard side to side when you first get out of dirt to get all that s*** off your tires or else you're going to eat s*** when you mob it like that
I’m currently looking for an EVO Sportster to do the 1275 kit on. Last one I did was all S&S but that ship has long since sailed with HAMMER doing what they’ve done.
thanks for the video. I'm having the stage 2 next week. very curious...
…aaand here is someone who actually knows how to ride these bikes like a european would: m.th-cam.com/video/gHc-r2LKB2E/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygURQm13IHIxMjAwciBzY2hhYWY%3D
hello Sir. What a lovely fxd you have. What size rear rim and tyre is that? I have dyna fxd 1997, and i want to change the original 16¨ rear to 17¨ Greetings from Finland nice channel and nice bikes 🙂
What rpm does this bike turn cruising at 55,65,75 mph?
The chain tensioner is awesome sound.
I love this bike!
Its pronounced Voon-der-Lish :)
I don't understand where is the extra fiber Disc Go
does the clutchless shifting damage the gearbox
I have Sportster Superlow wheels, 17x4.5 rear and 18x3.5 front (I believe). My plan is to run Pirelli Angel GT tires front and rear but I'm going wider in the rear and narrower in the front. I am going with a 180/55/ZR17 rear and a 120/70/ZR18 front. It's a Sportster 48 which has a mid glide front end. The OEM spacers will work perfectly with these wheels and they are getting ceramic bearings. I have a couple PBI front sprokets, and several rear spacers, so with this set up I will likely need to use the .750 offset front sprocket (PBI 281) and a .750 spacer on a flat sprocket for the rear with a 530 chain. If that doesn't do it then I will bust out the PBI 288 which has a 1.060 inch offset and a matching rear spacer but either way it will work! Those will be my sport tires for riding in the corners, then I am taking the OEM sportster 48 rear wheel and putting a Shinko Stealth D drag radial on it in the stock size (150/80/ZR16) as the wheel/tire that will go on the bike when I take it to the drag strip! I have a 11.5 inch rear rotor with a Misumi engineering bracket to run a Brembo p34 caliper. I am either going to get a backing plate made, or buy the 10.2 backing plate Misumi engineering makes for the caliper bracket to allow me to run a 10.2 inch rear caliper. I found a Galfer 10.2 inch floating rotor for the Sportster and it matches my 13 inch Galfer front rotor so it will be nice to drop a little bit of weight with the smaller rear rotor while also keeping it matching! Eventually my Trac Dynamics Billet racer swingarm will arrive and the rear package should be just about complete! I will be running a Beringer MC127 rear master cylinder on that setup!
Which piston set did you use with the 1200 heads?
Dam man that's Badass
Too bad they didn't do a better design to the tail section plastics. Looks like a last minute afterthought.
Picked up a 2005 1200XL Custom with 30k on it a few months back changed bars 8-1/2" rise 3" wider, seat to Mustang solo seat, changed shocks to 13" Touring added after market brackets for Road King Classic saddlebags removed rear turn signals used after market combo rear tail turn signals LED light. 6'2"- 260# comfortable and enjoyable to ride also own a 2021 Road King Standard which is a great bike, I find myself riding the Sportster more often as failing 64 yr old knee's appreciate the lighter bike just easier to maneuver around for me. Ride on
Thanks for sharing.
Dont know if you still check the comments here, but did the bike have a Hammer 1250 kit?
Hows the long term comfortability? My current does Ford I can't stay on for longer than an hour. I really want something I can take on road trips
Its beautiful! LOVE IT!
By the narrators calm pleasent demenor, you expect a pleasent calm test ride. SURPRISE! 😂
Wow ! Some Sportster !
Hello sir only One question What year is the 1200 stock heads that you put on this 883 engine?
I couldn't get the inner spindle out and only got to that stage after I had already changed the front mounts, so it was a case of taking all the front mount stuff off again and just have the engine sitting in the frame 'loop'. I hear H-D changed the design on later bikes and it is possible to retro-fit IF you can get the old inner spindle out ! I had so much fun changing that right-hand rear mount that putting everything back together after changing it seemed like childsplay - not something I'd like to do again and I found the new Drag Spec mounts to be so much firmer than the original softer H-D ones. It sharprnened up the handling so much that I forgive the new mounts for the increase in vibrations - thankfully I had fitted a Hammer 1250 kit so that the engine was a lot better balanced than standard. I cannot imagine how firmer mounts and the poor engine balancing off the stock bike would feel !
My bike handled better to. It was worth the trouble. Thanks for watching!
@@motorcycleridingandrepair1627 I did the engine mounts years ago and have also - just two or three years ago - fitted 50% stronger fork springs, race tech Emulators along with extended damper rods to give more ground clearance and more suspension travel resulting in a much smoother ride when coupled with longer rear shocks. I am onl 5'9" and had to used lowering blocks because the new rear shocks made the bike too tall for my liking. The lowering blocks made the ride a little softer and - at 65 years young - I find this bike to be such fun to ride. If only I could win a lottery and send my engine to Hammer Performance for a 90 inch kit to be fitted !
Thanks for the details of your repair! Nice!
@@thakery5720 I built a Hammer 90 inch. Nice but I enjoy my Hammer 1250 and 1275 better because they are more reliable.
I love those Hammer motors!
No start ????
Sorry.
I like your bike, you did your home work. To build an 88" Sportster for all around street bike for torque not racing what compression ratio and cams would you suggest?
I like the Hammer .600 lift cams. I would say 10.5 compression. If you go much more you will start to get "pinging" and have to always be worried about high octane gas or additives.
I’m trying to do this. My right hand side bolt came right out. The left side bolt just keeps spinning 😠. Guess that whole shaft is spinning. I came home to watch this video again see wtf I was doing wrong.
It fan be a bitch. Just keep trying and think it all out.
I Met Jay @ Barbersville In 2000 He Was A Real Champ Back Then
I love flat track racing!
I want one of these. Until then thanks
What make is that steering stabilizer where can I buy that
What exactly is a " fx " shock? Fxr?
Is there any link where i can Buy all those rubber mounts ???
@Valstrax99 To convert over to the newer bolt style you'll need to purchase Harley Part number 47500004 (SHAFT, SWING ARM PIVOT). The isolators remain the same part number throughout the rubber mount era (Harley Part Number 48492-04A) so no change there. Or, you can order Drag Specialties Part Number 1146716 (Rear Isolator Motor Mount Kit For Harley Sportster 2014-2022) which will convert you over to the newer style single-bolt setup and include slightly more firm isolators with the kit. However, in either scenario you'll need to purchase the full length swingarm pivot bolt (Harley Part number 47500005) and the nut and c-clip that goes on the end of the bolt to go with this setup (Harley Part 47500006 for the bolt and 12200047 for the retaining clip), instead of the older 2004-2013 arrangement that used bolts on each side of the swingarm. You should be able to find a used full length swingarm bolt with hardware for about $20 on eBay.
I have an iron 1200 and want more power would the hammer 1275 kit be worth it? Will it affect reliability and will I notice a difference in power. Awesome bike by the way!!!
