I'm 60 and bought an e-bike about 2 years ago - I have fallen in love with bicycle riding all over again after not riding a bicycle for many years. E-Bikes are wonderful and extremely fun.

There needs to be more free camping options before I even bother. I'm not paying hotel prices to camp in someone's backyard ten miles away from the trail.

Please consider using slides or PowerPoint instead of presenting from Google doc. This is interesting info, but not efficient to present as a bunch of text.

I found a place to charge up at a pavilion or gazebo in one of the smaller towns along the way. I found ones in Barberton, Canal Fulton, Fredericksburg (charging station behind the coffee shop), Glenmont, Danville, Millersburg by the Walmart, Mount Vernon in the town square and in Sunbury. It's harder to find a place to charge in the big cities because all the outlets in public places are locked or switched off.

Thank you for your work on the trail and for this video. FYI - I just tried the hint at he 3:40 point of the video where you discuss clicking the star to save to personal google maps - that apparently is no longer supported by google maps.

If this connected to the Austintown Metro Bike-trail, then I'd walk from Austintown to Erie, camp along the way, then go down to the southwest and back.

This trail is mostly easy, gradual ups and downs. The more challenging parts of the trail are where it transitions between sections. The more you research ahead of time the better.

Tons of references to "this year," "soon," "right now." Next time please use some date markers. I tell when the video was made so have no clue how updated it is.

I rode 94 miles from Reynoldsburg to Fredericksburg in two days. I rode portion of the Ohio to Erie trail. I am training to do the whole thing next year.

I'm old and don't want to ride a hundred miles. I am more like a 20 mile rider. Cam anyone recommend some good sections that are paved, not on the main roads, and in nature or otherwise scenic? I don't care where it might be in Ohio. Thanks!

Starting in Cincy May 26, 2023 !

I live in northern IN. I have biked on several portions of what will be a part of the National Trail! I hope these gaps continue to be filled in. I want to see the gap from Ora to Rochester filled in next! They have about 19 miles to go.

Ebikes have "engines?" I believe its called a motor. Motorcycles have "engines" Confusing, i know.

Now you can go to Katzinger's Deli and get a sandwich!

We have had no trouble charging at random restaurants, just by asking. We just eat there and relax. We remove our batteries carry in our charger which is an ordinary plug.

Are the RWGPS files updated when changes to the paper maps are made? Thanks ...

Based on questions, we are trying to identify hotels with charging stations. Hilton Garden Inn Columbus Easton at 3600 Morse Rd, Columbus 43230 has one outdoors not far from the trail.

Speed is limited to 15 mph on the trails regardless of what you ride.

Get a brand name kit if doing yourself like Bafang and only use recommended charger for safety.

Thanks so much for this instructional webinar. I plan to explore the entire trail this summer for the first time and I know your videos, websites and trail guides will be invaluable resources. Folks like you that selflessly dedicate your time and effort are what make the rail trails so amazing for the rest of us.

This video is as confusing as I found your website a couple years ago. I'd still would like to ride this trail end-to-end self-contained while camping but until you offer an easy way for my senior citizen tech ability I'm guess I'm out of luck. PS: gave up on the video after 20 minutes.

These webinars are painful to watch. Sure would be a lot smoother to just do a video. You could probably cut the viewing times in half and drive more viewership. Just trying to offer a helpful suggestion.

I live in Cincinnati in Oakley about five miles west of where I get on the trail in Newtown. Last week I rode from my home in Oakley all the way to West Broad Street in Columbus in a single day. It was 111 miles and with several stops it took me about 10 hours.

Uhm. Well that was brilliant. Most enjoyable! Really like this style of time lapse and narration, thank you! Now if you could please do GAP, C&O, Natchez Trace....etc etc etc in the same way... =D.

I rode a Cleveland to Cincinnati and back ride with a friend in 99. Mostly we rode route 42 (old federal hwy), mostly adjacent to I-71 there & back. a lot of this trail was in existence then but we were not aware of it. I want to do it again but on this trail this time. Thanks for posting this.

I finally made this bike ride after wanting to do it for years. I started off at the parking garage at Newport on the Levee in northern Kentucky, went across the Purple People Bridge and finished at a Red Roof Inn on West Broad Street inside the city limits of Columbus Ohio. I had several challenges on the way up there, the first one was the weight of my day pack. I was able to secure it on the top of bike storage bag that was design to fit over the top of my luggage rack. The second challenge was getting around the closed part of the bike trail by the Cartridge Brewing Company. I was able to cut through their parking lot and through the construction area (no construction workers on a Sunday). Had to go around to the side of the blockade fence on the other side of the bike trail. A tree had fallen across the bike trail further on up. I lucked out in a way, Because it was a Sunday, I was able to avoid another detour starting in Yellow Springs. The bottom line I was not prepared and learned a few things if I should try again someday.

For one way bike trip from Cincinnati to Cleveland, do you suggest taking a bus from Cleveland to the start in Cincinnati (with bike in the bus), or rent a 1 way car or uhaul to the start (and leaving personal car in Cleveland)?

Quick question...is there a location where we can rent a road/gravel bike in Cincinnati for the Ohio to Erie Trail? We will be touring the trail in June and are coming from San Diego and don't want to bring our road bikes and hoping to rent quality bikes in Cincinnati. Also, do you have any suggestion on the best way to return the bikes from Cleveland? Thanks in advance for a reply...Francine and Jeff Howard
