I have never done a supported bike tour and probibly never will but i can see the advantages of having everything worked out for you and having that safety net should you have a problem. we used the hotels on this route BUT we could not get any hotel in Millersburg on Tuesday night every hotel was full we ended up riding to Guggisberg Doughty Glen Winery adding an extra16 hilly miles to that part of the trip it was the closest we could find. Akron was the same way....we spent 2 hours in the internet and phone trying to get accommodation but again everything was booked in that area. we ended up staying in Talmage again another 14 mile total extra miles to the trip. We had no idea this area was so busy during the week..... check hotels and pre book before you start or prepare to waste a lot of time and extra miles trying to find a bed to sleep in. If you are wild camping the camp spots are endless even in the citys. we had to go to wallmart to buy a tire that failed on us in Mount Vernon and it would have been great to have some local help....if you have never done a tour before i would say a supported tour is a great way to enjoy a stress free ride.
