Just as well he changed the title; there was a porno called "Second Coming"!! How do I know? Well, I couldn't possibly comment .........
Shoulder length Blonde hair…
@@Thusssle You could type out all my subtitles 😜
Phenomena writing, great movie and cast but garbage tv show adaptation I found it insulting to her writing.
It wasnt the same without the original creater but Stan Lee saved it
@@diegomelendez9918 it’s an amazing behind the scenes story on a character we think has been an ever present!! 😊👍
@@StrangeReadsI didn't realize the backstory behind it but they had something going on with Conan and happy to say been a fan since then till now
I find Stephen King most addictive. But I must admit, I've never heard of nor read that one! 🙂
He released ‘Fairy Tale’ recently, too. I think this is closer to high fantasy. I do prefer the horror, dark/urban/fantasy tales best.
@@StrangeReads I read and enjoyed Fairy Tale!
@@oneoflokis ahhh great to hear!! I have a copy, but I’m yet to read it. ❤️❤️
Well he's since had great success with his Dark Tower series, which is kind of epic fantasy!
Defining books by genre is very problematic. I don’t have the knack, but many do. There are umbrella terms (which may overlap) and then sub-divisions to further confuse the reader. Fantasy-high fantasy-urban fantasy-dark fantasy etc. 😂
@@StrangeReads Yes indeed! (I seem to recall thar King's Roland claims to like "a mixture of flavours" in his stories! 🙂)
@@oneoflokis he has three ‘kids’ Joe, Owen and Naomi. I’ve only read Joe’s stuff…and I love it!!
@@StrangeReads 🙂👍
I have been reading CAS for 50 years now, and his work endures. Incredible writer and poet. Greetings from the Netherlands!
@@JohanHerrenberg GREETINGS! (Love talking books and stories with everyone ❤️) Which CAS story would you recommend as the first one for people to try 🤔
@@StrangeReads There are, of course, his two major story cycles - Zothique and Hyperborea. As to individual stories, I suggest 'The Double Shadow' and 'The Tale of Satampra Zeiros'. Both can be read for free on _the_ site for CAS fans, The Eldritch Dark.
@@JohanHerrenberg If you’ve been watching the channel you will know I like hardback books…I might go looking for these tomorrow 😂❤️ (I’ve been having trouble finding a compelling read this year 🙄…maybe this will be it)
@@StrangeReads CAS is terrific. Perhaps you have to get used to his extraordinary style. I took to it immediately as a 13-year old.
I do hate how much the TV series sexualized the characters. They just can’t seem to comprehend the only thing not enhanced by the dark gift. With sex not being a factor I think it deepened their bond of true compassion ship. True blood was great on its own merit. Leave this universe alone. I hope it doesn’t die the death currently plaguing what was Star Wars.
his name is count orlok not nosferatu
@@dreamfeaster it literally says that in the first few seconds 🤔
Among all her books this is I am most intrigued with
Yeah, me too. I haven’t started any of her books yet…but I think Mexican Gothic will be my first ❤️ (Love that cover - I wish Amazon hadn’t destroyed it 😪)
they are remaking it
Hunter s thompson
@@sourcanndy42 …and everyone else would be dinosaurs 😂👍❤️ That would be a wild dinner.
Did you forget “if it bleeds”? That short story collection came out in 2020. 😮
No, I read it and loved it. But it’s a collection of novellas, not short stories. 👍
You forgot to mention his assisstent, the Death Rat
Anybody saying Tom doesn't own that role for life is crazy.
It was more of his look and not his ability to act it through owning the role
Yawn .....
🤷♂️ …get to bed earlier.
@@StrangeReads ha ha. Funny.
I'm a 43 year old white ,suburban, working professional married mother of four that lives in a cul de sac, that "winters" in Florida and "summers" in the Lakes region... after having had read this book, I literally found myself wandering through the woods near my house searching for faeries, naming all of the trees and making friends with them, seeing shrubs shaped as different animals and naming them as well, I'm convinced I found a tree with faerie sparkles all over it and brought home a leaf and freaked out on my husband after I found out he unknowingly threw it out...all after having had read this book! I literally cannot even step on an ant or swat a fly anymore... ps I only included my demographic to give a visual on how absolutely preposterous I must've looked ... but I am thoroughly convinced that faeries DO exist!
It’s beautiful how books can awaken (or excite) our inner child 😊❤️
It's a good collection!! Will Patton and Stephen read the audiobook !
I got an email yesterday saying my hardback delivery is delayed 😪😪 I’m enjoying hearing that everyone is loving the audiobook though!! I can’t wait!!! ❤️❤️
My favourite is Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde (1941) starring Spencer if you haven't seen many Jekyll and Hyde adaptations the one starring Michael Caine is pretty good there's also a free to watch one on TH-cam starring Mark Redfield it's a indpendent film Hyde is very ugly in this version especially as the film goes on.
It would have been good if it was a sort of comedy or parody.
I think that’s how people read it these days (by watching that footage from the conventions).
Black House was the best ever. Really enjoyed it!
I read it decades ago - never realising it was the second in a series. Did you read the Talisman? (I am still yet to get a copy 😬)
I've read them all and still have them. SK is the best.
@@susangraham4015 I must get a copy ❤️
Originally on broadway the monster was an african
He made a cameo in a comedy-drama Stuck on Love where he acknowledged the short story written by the main character
Loooovvvve all King's shorts.
Have any of you guys realized the cover of the US version is an alligator head? It's a lot cooler once you figure that out! I definately prefer that one. I'm doing the audiobook with Will Patton reading. I thought nobody could top Frank Muller(rip) but I might have been wrong. Will Patton is hands down phenomenal. He's SO good. He really brings it to life. I'm two stories in and love it so far
Yeah, saw the alligator head, but it’s great to point it out for those that missed it 👌 Love hearing early reports about the stories, too…still waiting for my copy to arrive! ❤️❤️
I read this one in the 8th grade and loved it. Always meant to re-read
Some of those 8th grade reads were brilliant! We did The Hobbit 😧👌❤️
About his younger self: "I'd buy him a drink, but I don't know if I'd lend him any money." Looollll !!!
He's my favourite!
Thanks buddy, because of this short i have discoveryed a new writer.keep it up
That’s great to hear! I need to read more of his stuff, too. I hope you find lots of other good reads on the channel (we have hundreds of videos now 😊❤️)
At least. Jim Theis, actually wrote a Story, even though it was AWFUL! How many, people have Stories, and Never Tried.
So true. I know many writers who are always ‘too busy’ to finish their stories. Someone told me only 3% of writers finish a first draft!
Such a shame. I truly wonder what sagas this man would have continued to write if he hadn’t made that mistake. RIP Robert E Howard, your creations are iconic and will long be remembered.
Apparently, he used to receive fan mail from terminally ill fans who proclaimed that they wish Terry's death would be the one they met. If this doesn't speak to the importance of media and art, idk what does
That’s so sad, and yet so heartwarming.
Graham Masterton" Night Warrior" amazing wish it was a movie!
Haven't read any of the books by this author. Curious which book you like the most and which book you recommend for beginners to her works like me
I haven't read any of her stuff yet, either - I'm just opening her books now. I'll open four books this month. You could watch and see which one looks/sounds best for you. I think I'm going to try 'Mexican Gothic' first...but I haven't made up my mind yet. Maybe we could compare notes afterwards 👍👍❤❤
I have a collection of the Conan books in an all in one someone gave me a while back my nephew got a hold of it when he was little and some of the first few pages have pencil and highlighter on them but it's still readable
And if you look after that book now, it will have so many nostalgic memories ❤️❤️
GNU Sir Terry. A while since you crossed the black sand. I hope you have found somewhere nice with cats to rest. Maybe you're teaching them how to play Cripple Mr Onion somewhere.
Beautiful ❤️👌
He was a good man.
That creepy eyeball. Love it!
Yes!!! It’s like the morning after tequila night at your local Mexican restaurant 😃😱
Us version
You have your dates all wrong.
Are you talking about my social life? ...but in all seriousness, by 'all', you mean 'one', which has been noted in the description. My videos are always spot-on, I swear! I try my best to avoid the 'well actually' crowd...but hey, here we are. My bad, folks. Hopefully, the rest of the rest of the internet will meet our high standards.
"Nethescurial" in Grimscribe is my favourite.
Cheers, mate - I’ll look it up. (I started reading my TL anthology but switched to a terrible novel when I went on holiday 🙄) - Must get back to the good stuff ❤️ Ahhh, found it. Story 4 in Grimscribe 👍👍
There are a few ghost stories where the 'apparition' is a portent of the future. But, as most future-knowledge stories tell us; the event cannot be avoided. Numerous Celtic myths about gesa, tales of destiny, written long after the fact, are trying to tell us something about us not being allowed to know of the future. - and yet, people have an apprehension of future events animals lack...
Perhaps he predicted pandemic “2”,you know, what comes next
😱 …you just broke the horror-meter!!! 😱
Tje counterweight fell! Not the chandelier!
Chandelier counterweights are off-setting the weight of the chandelier. The fire burned through the wire holding the counterweight therefore the chandelier could no longer remain aloft. The chandelier then fell.
@@StrangeReads there is the chandelier, and a large bronze reflector just above it, which is used to reflect the light downwards to illuminate the theatre. The chandelier and reflector are each held up by their own separate counterweights. It was the counterweight from, the reflector which fell, and broke through the ceiling. A similar reflector can be seen above a smaller chandelier in the lobby of the opera house
@@melon7559 are you talking about the film or some televised version?
@@StrangeReads I'm talking about the real opera house
Any story you can get your hands on and you will not go wrong.🤘
Something about your username tells me you’ve read a few 😂👌❤️
Greatest science fiction writer
I've read Skeleton crew, its really good
The good thing is, he’s got so many, you can reread without knowing 100% if you’ve read it before 😂 For example, I ‘think’ I’ve read Skeleton Crew 😂😂😂
@@StrangeReads 🤣🤣
Some would call Conan ‘male power fantasy’ but Conan represents to me what every man aspires to be.
…I couldn’t deal with all the topless/no shirt action. I like to wear a nice jacket 😂❤️
L Sprague De Camp saved Conan just like August Derleth saved the Cthulhu mythos.
Classic. I listened to it yesterday.
Holy shit I didn't know that was him that wrote under those names in ec comics. I've read some of his things I think in the haunt of fear and maybe the vault of horror and suspense shock suspense I think
