I tried this same level for 2 hours on a livestream last year. It's not always as easy as a single video of a successful run can make it seem.

Probably not. My gut tells me this is the maximum diameter, but it's impossible to say for sure. New strategies are discovered all the time.

I'm sorry to hear that. If Can-Can isn't on the table in the starting room of As Large As Possible 2, it must be a glitch. You could always try reinstalling the game. Wish I could offer more help.

Sorry, I realize it's been a few days. I've actually been putting off replying in the hope that I might come up with a better answer. The only thing I could find online was a post of mine from ~15 years ago at KotW. I got 1m97cm7mm, and I don't recall trying it since. I'm pretty sure the Present exists in AFAP if you didn't get it in AMAP (Lots of Flowers). Other than that, I would try getting the biggest flowers only until you reach the limit. Getting everything else, of course: butterflies, squirrels, fairies, etc. That's probably not too helpful. If I get a chance, I'll try firing up the game to see if I can find out more.

In my runs I was pretty thorough with getting all the non-flower things to my knowledge (butterflies, present, snake in the grass, etc). I was getting small lily bells, but i didnt realize that each gave 3 flowers, so avoiding those leaves room for about 70 extra flowers in future runs. But all thats left in the end was the stuffs in the colored flower beds, and getting 70 extra pansies at the end doesnt seem like it would give 4mm more :( So maybe I could experiment with avoiding tulips, roses, etc to see if that helps?

@swimminginoblivion5186 That seems like a solid plan! Definitely avoid anything that counts as more than one flower. The tiny ones in groups on the path around the lake, the yellow ones that wrap halfway around the stump. Maybe others? Also, is there a particular reason you're aiming at 1m98cm4mm? It looks familiar somehow, but I don't remember why.

@@ThumbsOfSteel74 1m98cm4mm is the top score listed in the scoreboard archive on Katamari on the Web. Naturally I want to get as close to the record as I can lol. I do also think that a few of the flower beds had single flowers mixed with sets of 3 flowers, so I usually avoided those at the end.

@swimminginoblivion5186 Lol. I forgot all about that section of the scoreboard. It's a shame there apparently wasn't any discussion of these scores back then, but I'm sure we can figure it out now.

I hear you. This run really was lucky. I just uploaded the first random 10m/10m I got. I applied more actual strategy to my speedrun of this level (linked in pinned comment). I would recommend trying that route, but without really hurrying. The benefit is, in general, less time per attempt. But I get it. Taking a break couldn't hurt.

I literally just did it but it was pure luck, because I finally managed to do a speed roll in the last 16 seconds (the final turnaround for the bear). Im mashing the joysticks but 9/10 times the superroll charges but doesnt actually fire..

It's difficult to be certain, but I doubt scores could go quite that high. Some levels appear to have a limit that can be approached but never surpassed: MAS 1 (20cm), MAS 2 (40cm), etc. This seems to be one of those levels.

In that case, I would recommend the no boost/charge method in the description. I play on PC as well, but with a PS2 controller + adapter. I'm sure I would be terrible with keyboard controls.

Clapper Board is small (26cm1mm), so I recommend going for it just after 45cm. Head down the hill and take a right at the bottom. I got it before 1m in the video. It probably despawns soon afterward.

The game is a remake/remaster of the original from 2004. They either hadn't thought as big back then (as they later would in Beautiful Katamari and Katamari Forever), or perhaps they were limited by the (PS2) hardware at the time. That said, I get where you're coming from. Playing these levels after BK/KF can seem like a bit of a letdown.
