When drawing the lines for the brush, why not make that many lines to begin with. Instead fo duplcating so many times.

I know how difficult it is to produce a video because I tried my hand at creating a Procreate class. I want to tell you, you’re definitely not too old to start a shop or make videos. I started my art career (after hobby painting my entire adult life) at the age of 70 and opened a Shopify store. I’m still going strong at nearly 73. No sales from my store which is frustrating, but I fortunately don’t need art to support myself. About this video, the content was great, but the music was very annoying and way too loud. It’s difficult to hear you. Maybe it’s not my style of music, the volume needs to come down. When you work so hard to script and deliver your content, it’s good to have it heard. Keep making art! Love your fantasy maps. 🩷🩷🩷

is there a way in affinity designer pixel persona, to snap a line to a perfectly straight line or perfect circle ; at the end of a stroke ( kind of like procreate does it?)

I also saw your post on insta about the numbers on subscribers, don’t worry it will come ! :) You are the first youtuber that really helped me creating a fantasy map for my D&D universe. All the others were either too fast or too technical, but your videos were perfect, even though I have no artistic background or deep knowledge with procreate. My map is still a work in progress, but still I am very happy with it. In a way you helped me reconnect with my imagination and my love for creation, so thank you !

Affinity is subscription based. I would pay twice or more the price of procreate for a one time purchase, but I got into procreate specifically to get out of Adobe's model. We need to be owning our tools, at least nominally, or we are just feeding the machine, not the culture. In music the same issues take a different form. I don't want to help AI take over by sharing work indiscriminately. I don't want to turn a company I have no ability to influence into an ongoing part of my household budget. In music production, I similarly refuse to use subscription based or machine learning based tools, and there is no kind of music I am therefore unable to do. Each of the conveniences and tools you mention... very very cool for a working artist like yourself, and again I would buy the product... but there is a commonality to every example - removing the need to commit, and considerations of labor time and its commercial value. Every example I could pull off in Procreate alone, given planning and given a lack of a client staring over my shoulder. Adjusting the lines after the fact is very sweet, but not historically a core need of a graphic artist/designer. Lines can be redrawn. I understand that you are doing this for money and that these questions are directly relevant for you. Based on my limited experience with digital art, and my broad and deep and lengthy experience with music production, I mildly interrogate the notion that endless choice and undo-ability are conducive to great work or necessarily even efficient work. And I definitely think that our relationships with the makers of these tools matter.

great video, I now have an ipad pro with procreate since 2 months and I know affinity designer for longer (desktop) and I was thinking about both of the programs. Your explanation is great! I learned a lot! I would like a more detailed video of the use of the different uses of both programs on the ipad buts that's maybe because I also have to learn a lot

You can also make it follow the pen. I have made a lot of chain, rope, and braid brushes using this technique. It’s also good for dungeon wall which can be organic instead of orthogonal. (Like cave walls)

In the brush engine you can set your stamp brush to flip horizontally under the SHAPE tab, scroll down and tap X to the ON position. You can set the parameters for how often it flips by tapping RANDOMIZED and playing with the COUNT and COUNT JITTER sliders.

You should sell your border/ tree brushes and all the ones you use for sale, I would totally buy them all
