Happy Christmas and all the best for the new year. Dave
Merry Christmas Joe, any tractor will be fine for me
Merry Christmas Joe, and all the best to you in the new year.
Merry Christmas. The super engine would be my choice.
Merry Christmas
Hi Joe. Got a line up here waiting for my attention. David Brown 1212, Fordson EA1, Ferguson FE35, Leyland P76 as well as everything I regularly use. I am very interested in the wiring harness and how it works out. I have been considering a couple for my Leyland tractors. Cheers Dave
@davidrobertson376 Hey David You should do a walk around video for us, especially the E1A. The next video should be the conclusion of the wiring. Besides the wiring size being different the harness is actually really well made. I've ordered a different voltage regulator so that should hopefully fix my problems
@@joesgarage8372 you could have an. Episode called “Around Joes subscribers garages.”
@ You could have an episode called “Around Joes subscribers garages” I have been contributing to Brookdale Farm. Check out, 1 What’s happening on the farm Western Australia and South Australia. 2 Making good quality lucerne hay. 3 Putting sheep in the long paddock.
@davidrobertson376 Yeah, that's not a bad idea. I've got a couple of walk around plans for early next year, and we have a bit of a fordson day with a couple of friends, so there might be a good video opportunity there. Ahh yeah I've been watching those videos it's good stuff
@ I really appreciate the Aussie content that blokes like you and Brookdale do. Be great to see a walk around your mate gear.
That looks like a nightmare working around that loader to work on anything on that tractor. I saw Lucas Australia on the regulator. Anyone in the States shudders when they think of Lucas electronics. My only experience with Lucas electronics is on British motorcycles and I personally found the components to be quite dependable with most problems coming from the bullet connectors making poor connections. I think the issues would arise from the vibrations of the motorcycles. When I would wire motorcycles I would eliminate bullet or spade terminals where ever possible and electrical problems would pretty much go away.
@oldamericaniron5767 I'm really glad that this project is coming to the end because it's so hard to work. Lucas Prince of darkness, that's what they say but I'm the same I've found most of the electronics on the fordsons to be responsibly reliable all things considered.
I am working on and off on a 1949 Farmall Super A, and repairing lawn mowers in Cape town South Africa
@jankotze1959 That sounds interesting. You should put up a video of it
Hard to get good replacement parts anywhere these days.😮
@Stephen-ou4sy yeah it's really frustrating
I have been wondering how you are getting on with the crane. That is a very neat muffler. Ideal for a tractor
@davidrobertson376 I'm getting there slowly. Yeah I really like the look of it. If it sounds OK I might make some more for the other tractors
If it’s in the middle of the hole in the hood I’d do the adjusting of the angle there to make it straight but that’s just me. But as you implied, making it usable is the goal first. Thanks for the video, it’s always good to see what you are up to.
@oldamericaniron5767 that's the thing it doesn't have to be pretty. I might end up doing that thanks for the suggestion 🙂
Looking great Joe, i am curious how it will sound
@jankotze1959 I am too. I'm really hoping it's quiet
A great engine. The decompression lever confuses me though. Unless they were fitted to industrial engines. The welder is a bonus for sure. It could be fitted to the belt pulley on the E27N and use it as a yard tractor and for heavy welding. Enjoy being part of the progress with your projects.
@davidrobertson376 yeah I'm not sure about the decompression levers. I think they might have been an option on the later tractors. I'm really not sure what I won't to do with the welder because it could be really handy later on
Buying something that runs, it is easier sometimes. I think my ‘65 White is about the only thing I ever bought that ran with good batteries in it when I got it.
@oldamericaniron5767 yeah it's a new thing for me and really liking it 😆
Before you know it, all of your majors will be running.
@Jambo-u2k that's it. This engine is half the price of rebuilding one. So I have to fit this engine to the new performance, then fix the noise in the new major then assembly and fit the engine to the super major and then they all run 😂
That was now cool, the quickest start on an old engine ever, that engine is a keeper
@@jankotze1959 it seems to be a really good engine
Richen the large main mixture screw anti clockwise under the float drain there is a small low speed mixture screw on the side of the throttle body that wants to be turned inwards a its a funny air bleed jet system they are the worst vintage tractor you can think of but i love mine to bits and wouldn't part with it
@richardfox9795 Thanks for the info. I have to get a new air filter pipe before o start trying to tune it. The really ain't much of a vintage tractor but they were only a stop gap messier after the war but. It could be worse at least it has electric start
Great to see the old girl working bar a few teething problems.
@Jambo-u2k yeah a couple of little things to sort out, but not too much
That was awesome, Part 20 will be the first price, all will work
@jankotze1959 yeah that's the next thing see what it can lift
Getting closer to working like it used to. Thanks for sharing.
@Stephen-ou4sy yeah, just one step at a time
My goodness hydraulic oil is very expensive in Australia.
@Jambo-u2k yeah oil here is expensive but hydrolic oil is still cheaper than engine oil
O no it was so close, will have to wait
@jankotze1959 so close but so far 😪 It will be up and running next weekend depending on the weather
Hope the rain didn't impact too much. How would a small solar trickle charger go? Great video.
@Stephen-ou4sy the rain isn't to bad but when you only have one day a week to work on your tractors it can really hold you back. I have wondered what a solar charger would be like on a tractor. I might have to see about getting one
Someone really abused this thing :( Sad to see how bad state it is in.
@Azuretxzs yeah it's had a rought life but hopefully it will be worth saving
@@joesgarage8372 it will be. My scouting had a tug with ome of these. It was a great and “reliable” boat. It would be great to see a restoration series. If you do that you got a watcher.
@Azuretxzs once my crain is up and going, I will do a series on getting it running.
@@joesgarage8372that would really be awesome! And a running one can get you atleast 10000 dollars if it runs correctly. And if its in really good state at about 20000 dollars. And it just has an awesome sound.
Just work on what you feel like on any particular day.
@oldamericaniron5767 yeah that's it really. I'm getting pretty excited to start putting the engine back together for the super major. I've always liked engine building
Very nice, wait for it
That e27n has the English 36” rims on the back
This Ford engine will be another interesting project and the plans you have for it. The colours are interesting. I may be off track but Ford had a kit to repower kero Chamberlins with 6 cylinder Ford engines. That may explain the orange paint and exhaust. The yellow looks New Holland harvester to me. Regardless I would say it has had an interesting life. Now to start another life.
@davidrobertson376 yeah we will probably never know where it came from but I definitely know where it's going 🙂
Joe you have now so many interesting projects that I don't want to miss,
@jankotze1959 this one might be some time away but I will get to it
When you said it was a miserable day I thought, is any day you are picking up vintage parts really miserable?
@oldamericaniron5767 hahaha well that is true, but it would have been a lot nicer day if I was picking up another tractor not just some old wheels or a D73T I'm still chasing one of them 😉
Austin or Leyland. Hard to tell . They were originally Austin then when BMC was taken over they became Leyland. Thank you for the video Mate 👍
@@johnjordan4647 I assumed they were something like that
I was out the back of New Norfolk at Lachlan yesterday in the rain, picking up a 1950’s power hacksaw for the workshop.
@FlangeGasket64 yeah there seems to be a lot of good stuff for sale up there
Nice rims, I see one E27N will be stripped and painted one day
@jankotze1959 it might take a couple of years, but it will get painted
❤ looks good that's going to be so useful 👍👍👍👍
@aussiedirtmover I've all ready got a couple of jobs waiting for it to be finished
I’m just kidding but are you still avoiding the job of cleaning the hydraulic tank.😀
@oldamericaniron5767 I'm getting to it. I still have a couple more jobs to do than will have to do it 😆
Keep up the great work
Another good progress video, looking out for the next one
Hi, thanks for the shout out. You have some interesting projects there. Keep up the good work. Thanks from Geoffrey
@brookdalefarm7986 that's ok I give credit where credit is due
I don’t envy you the job of cleaning out that hydraulic tank.
@@oldamericaniron5767 can you tell I've been avoiding it😆
@@joesgarage8372 I thought that but I didn’t want to be too blunt about it 😀
@oldamericaniron5767 I don't really have much left I can do now so I'm going to have to do it 😑
Nice update, thanks for that, like all your Fordsons
Joes Garage merchandise. I can see it now. Coffee mugs with photos of the crane and caps with the E27N.
@davidrobertson376 hahaha yeah I dunno if they would be a big seller 😆
Looking forward to seeing this unit in action
@davidrobertson376 yeah so am I. I've got a couple of jobs that are waiting for the crain to be up and running
Great progress Joe, hopefully next time will be a test
@jankotze1959 it shouldn't be too far off now but I do still have the hydraulic tank to do😑
Good to see you back on the Crane. It’s going to be a very handy unit for you. I was glad to hear you reference Brookdale farm. You guys put a lot into the videos and deserve a lot more exposure.
@davidrobertson376 yeah I need the crain going to I can move on with other projects. Brookdale farm is a really good chanal I watch a lot of his stuff
The color looks perfect to me but then again I’m color blind.😅
@oldamericaniron5767 yah it's a good enough colour match for me
When you mentioned it was an old clapped out storage shed I thought, it’s better than the other one you don’t have just like the vice, better than the other one you don’t have. We all have to work with what we have.
@oldamericaniron5767 yeah that's it. You are far better off to have something old and half worn out than nothing at all. I'm planning on building a nice new 20mx12m one at some point but money just isn't there at the moment
Like those fittings and the colour looks perfect for me
That was fun my friend, that old Fordson is in a great shape
@@jankotze1959 it is my favourite tractor
I know what you mean by life gets in the way. More things to do than there is time for.
@oldamericaniron5767 it's just how it's goes sometimes but I did manage to do a bit more work on the crain done this weekend
Great progress. I think they had a removable Venturi so they could be changed when operating at different altitudes.
@@davidrobertson376 that would make sense. The venturi did have a number on it
